  1. These are issues from Sciuscià, a strip-sized important series that came out after WW2 – not all issues are strictly related to war events but many episodes are (episodes ran for more than a single issue, in continuation). I am collecting little by little the ones where the action is set during the war. The character is inspired by neorealistic movie "Shoeshine" by Vittorio De Sica. More information here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sciuscià_(comics)
  2. PM the admin about this: you might have logged in the wrong way to the new forums.
  3. Totally agree I would say Lee reached (more or less) ALL generations: when it’s due it’s due. Senormac nails down the core of the problem, in my opinion, when he says "everybody is all over the place with too many choices for entertainment", but it’s not just movies: it’s a lack of recollection.
  4. I did not know of it… I like the white logo better. By "lower print quality" you mean the insides or the cover?
  5. If it's so I want it (in both cases)! Do you recall the title?
  6. These are such a slice of american culture… I have some and definitely worth having, just so you know. @theblob: Most things related to christianity (be them catholic or not) are depicted as the work of the devil. I tried to figure out what was the actual work of God, because it remains very little left out!
  7. I am delighted by your ability not to "over-attach" yourself to a single book, and to buy, enjoy and pass on. It would be tough for me with most of my books…
  8. Of course, you are right. But my money is limited and focus pretty narrow, so it’s less likely to see things I would buy when most people list SA and BA books. Hence, my comment.
  9. Maybe the new boards layout is a bit offputting for some? Also, I would love to se more GA-period material (not just comics, magazines and books et al).
  10. Reposting… I would need: – A coverless Walt Disney Comics and Stories #35 (vol.3 #11): – A coverless National Comics #17 (even incomplete would be fine, as mine has a pair of pages with pieces missing, close to the centerfold): - Cover to The Challenger #4 (I have another coverless copy):
  11. We'll do. As I probably told you already in fact I have stopped with Marvel age purchases. But sooner or later I would love to fill the holes, especially in the FF run, and complete it in some way. I just need to organize myself and prepare this introduction, to set up a sale of GA/same period material from Europe, not US-centric.
  12. I must remember to look for a FF#21: not the only one I am missing, but one I care about… That was a very nice copy for a good price!
  13. Sha, it was an "inverse joke": I meant that if it was "decent grade" I wouldn't probably be able to afford it… Definitely interested if it's missing a coupon (unless it cuts a panel from the story I need!), so if you can take note let me know when it gets back!
  14. Actually my intention was the opposite: I wished to put a smile in your face with a purchase but it’s not a good time for spending… But my prayers are assured!
  15. Dang… We could have discussed it (unless it’s in decent shape… ) – I need it to make high resolution scans of a story. Do you have pictures of it?
  16. Oh, that was "between me and myself"… I just wished to make sure you’d see my prayer intention for you and your grandma.
