    I didn't mention them since they're strip reprints, but they are excellent reads, especially the early ones.

    Barks ducks are still my favorite read from the pre code era. I would also add Walt Kelly (Pogo and other works) and Little Lulu. For hero titles, a couple I haven't seen listed yet are Pep Comics (especially 17-50) and Air Fighters/Airboy.
