  1. When I think that, for one day in my life, I held half the OA for X-Men #133 in my hands...I really can't believe it. It was like an out-of-body experience. *sigh* "Memories..." Peace, Chip
  2. A near-complete run from 204 to 262 just showed up yesterday... Peace, Chip
  3. Great posts, Phamton. Well thought-out and right on the money. Peace, Chip
  4. I absolutely loved what they did with Zola and I smiled when they name-dropped Dr. Strange. I thought the mid-credits scene was done very well, also. Von Strucker is just as I'd picture him if he were real. This is such a great time for us. Enjoy it, my friends. Peace, Chip
  5. April and I went to see it yesterday. All that was available during the time we had to see it was the 3D show, and surprisingly the 3D was non-distracting. It felt more like you were "in" the film and it certainly was very sharp & clear. April has gotten headaches whenever she's seen 3D films in the past, but this one didn't bother her at all. Regarding the film...wow. It was simply perfect. The acting, the effects, the drama, the fighting...wow. I wouldn't change a thing, really. April was mad when I commented on ScarJo's rear filling the screen for one shot, but then she got Evans in a tank top with all his ripped-ness later so I told her to shut it. . Just a great time at the theater, and since the trailers were TNMT, X-Men, ASM2 and Guardians I really felt lucky. This is a golden age for us comic book fans, and I'm loving every minute of my childhood dreams of real-life superheroes playing out on the big screen. Peace, Chip
  6. I can't wait for April's reaction when the mask comes off. It'll probably the same as when my pants come off. Dead silence. Peace, Chip
  7. That's why I think GOTG is going to kill it. Marvel knows that all their momentum will screech to a halt if any movie they have control over from here on out is bad. Peace, Chip
  8. Those that have seen this and Thor 2, are you now more pumped for GOTG because the bar seems to have been raised as far as quality? Peace, Chip
  9. I've heard you can save money by printing a blue label with the book's info on it and then only have to change the color to purple for the subsequent label printing. Peace, Chip
  10. Here's mine...soon to be not-mine... Peace, Chip
  11. It also illustrates that Kav tries too hard. WAY too hard. Peace, Chip
  12. I can be a member of this club for the next 7 days or so. . Peace, Chip
  13. I've got some nice Golden Age Hero, Romance and Pre-Code Horror up on eBay that started last night. This includes a couple Matt Bakers, some LB Cole, a few Everetts, and more! ...just scroll past the Bronze & Silver Age stuff and you'll get there. . http://www.ebay.com/sch/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ssn=chips-comics&_sop=1&_pgn=2&_skc=192&rt=nc Thanks for looking! Peace, Chip
  14. I got goose bumps throughout the whole darn thing. Iceman sliding, Sunspot powering up, thousands of Sentinels filling the sky, Magneto just casually tossing all those cops aside, a Nimrod possibly filleting Halle Berry...what's not to like? It's a freakin' live- action comic book! Gonna go back and watch it again right now. Peace, Chip
  15. MSH #13 - 1st Carol Danvers Ms. Marvel #1 - her 1st appearance as Ms. Marvel Depending on condition you might want to pass on MSH #13...high grade prices are wayyyy up there. Peace, Chip
  16. I found it. He sold mine as well. For more, of course. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bronze-Age-Strange-Tales-169-NM-9-4-Hi-Grade-Very-Hot-Book-1st-Brother-Voodoo-/151231961044?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item23362097d4 Peace, Chip
  17. Wow. You know what? You're right. I assumed it was the same book since he just bought one from me a few weeks ago. I'll edit my post about him, but my comment still stands. Mine is the better copy, yet went for nearly half. Blah. Peace, Chip
  18. With a great reputation comes great auction results I lost an auction for this book the other day it went over $87 really solid copy. I couldn't justify paying almost $90 so I gave up http://www.ebay.com/itm/161219899983?ssPageName=STRK:MEDWX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1435.l2649 This is one of the reasons why I'm on heavy anti-depressants... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Strange-Tales-169-1973-NM-9-2-White-Pages-1st-App-Brother-Voodoo-/321310391448?hash=item4acf977c98 It's another aspect of life I don't get. I need all the cash I can get because I'm way behind financially and have a girlfriend and daughter to support, so things like this get me down. Peace, Chip
  19. Does CGC note that #23 is a John Byrne cover? Just curious. It's also a difficult issue to find in high grade. Peace, Chip
  20. So after a bunch of messages back and forth we still had yet to lock down an exact time and place to meet, though it was to be yesterday morning. After my last e-mail message went unreplied-to, I figured I'd text him since I only had another hour before I had to be at work. This is the brief exchange : Me - "Hi Brad. Did you change your mind about the Transformers? I am here in town and have a little while before work so I can come and pick them up." Him - "Yeah someone told me to put them on ebay and I could get more he say you tryin to rip me off" Me - "Err...I was going to pay the price you listed them for. You said $350 in your ad. How is that trying to rip you off?" *after thinking twice for a second* Me - "Never mind. Good luck selling them." Finis. I really can't stand , which is a shame for me because there are a LOT of them out there to deal with. My blood pressure is high enough as it is... Peace, Chip
