If something is priced as the lowest currently available on eBay and someone offers 50% of that price, that's a waste of the seller's time (as short as it is to decline an offer). I wish I had that kind of time to just waste by offering unrealistic prices to sellers on eBay.

Movies/TV/Video Games Subforum General Discussion Thread

I've been waiting for The Abyss for a loooooooong time. Glad to see it's finally been announced. -
When do you think that happened for you? I think that they're one of the more interesting characters on the show...like watching a computer. Lol

I love Starlin's art, but that is NOT an improvement.

Post your Garage Sale/Flea Market/Antique Mall Finds Here
Chip Cataldo replied to Shark's topic in Comics General
Had my dear friend Heidi contact me the other day about her boyfriend's best friend. He had a collection of 1970s comic and horror magazines that he inherited from his father, but he and his mom knew nothing about them. She said she knew someone that could help out so she called me. I drove out to meet with them and it turned out to be so much fun that I literally stayed for a few hours. They were NY Giants and Yankees fans like I am and we got along like proper paisanos. 😊 I explained to them what they had and in the end they were more than happy with my offer. Here are some of the highlights... -
What would happen if a large quantity of a key issue were found?
Chip Cataldo replied to Comicdave's topic in Comics General
Shad is right. There are no "shortcuts" to this, really. I picked up a collection of comic magazines locally a few days ago from people that knew literally nothing about the hobby and didn't have the time or care to research everything. It was outside the scope of their "regular" life and what they had going on right now. They appreciated my knowledge and the cash offer that was made when I explained to them what they had and why certain things were important. They were also happy to have it gone immediately with little effort on their part. You have to put in the work over time to be able to evaluate on the fly. -
Hero Restoration, Anyone know the latest?
Chip Cataldo replied to Cantina201's topic in Comics General
I have no idea. I was just answering someone's question. Matt already said he's collecting information to give to authorities/investigators. He did that a few days ago. -

I think people are worried that he's unhinged enough (based on his posts) that the door confrontation would go south fast. -
Very sad to read this news. A true fan of comics and a great personality.

This Week In Your Plastic Crack, Action Figures and Toy Collection
Chip Cataldo replied to Buzzetta's topic in Comics General
The video is still up, and yes they are. I have pictures of them all individually...somewhere on a backup drive. I just have to find time to look for them. -
Have any of you gotten lucky with comic lot auctions?
Chip Cataldo replied to stormflora's topic in Comics General
Local auction houses, sure. Definitely not eBay, not anymore. -
He's in Denver, I believe. The Mile High City. I think that's where the name comes from.

This Week In Your Plastic Crack, Action Figures and Toy Collection
Chip Cataldo replied to Buzzetta's topic in Comics General
Yep, that's me. Nowadays all I collect is dust. It's mainly because I don't have the room but I don't really want to go down any more rabbit holes. I have been picking up nice coffee-table books of comic stories and characters I like, but I'm even running out of space for those. I have a few packaged modern toys like the small Marvel Legends Doom, the Super7 Hedorah & Black Hole robots and a Longbox Heroes box set. That plus a few loose NY Giants McFarlane figures is all I've got. -
Ah, the movie that no one asked for. They need new movies with new characters. Whatever happened to them developing a High Republic movie?

My Dad and I have been watching this and we think it's fantastic, if not a bit weird at times. Anyone else watch it? I think we're on Season 5 now.

Hero Restoration, Anyone know the latest?
Chip Cataldo replied to Cantina201's topic in Comics General
I don't think Matt going to his house is the right thing, either. Compiling a list of people and what they have there and how much money they have paid for work not done is best. Presenting all that information to the police or fraud department of whatever local investigators handle that is the correct thing to do and will drive home the severity of the situation. -

What would happen if a large quantity of a key issue were found?
Chip Cataldo replied to Comicdave's topic in Comics General
Wasn't someone posting recently about a fellow collector that had a full long box of Hulk #181s? I'm sure this stuff already exists, the books just aren't on the market.
