  1. Greeeaaaat. . . now, I feel like I have to have one of those.
  2. I've got a Jack Kirby signature on the inside of my Strange Tales #110 and it's a prized posession. There are some sigs that defy the need for an SS designation. I would make a rare exception in special cases. Right now, I just have some celeb sigs and I'd add some creator/writer/artist sigs on modern books from my favorites. That's pretty much it.
  3. Good luck with the house offer. Hope they accept! I appreciate that. I hope it goes smoothly. I found out a few weeks ago that my apartment complex was sold, and the new owners are closing it, and forcing everyone to move in October. Luckily, I had been searching a few months already. I've got an energetic Australian cattle dog that I think will flourish with a yard.
  4. Is the bulldog's name from WoW? Just a great room and welcome to the boards. While I won't have anything as spectacular as this, I'm hoping to be able to share my own little space soon. I put an offer in on a house this week.
  5. What about characters that haven't been shown in movies, but have ties to specific books? Examples: Uatu The Watcher. The Skrulls. Morbius. Where do characters like those fit into the structure?
  6. I see a George Rodrigue Blue Dog! Good eye! I went to his Studio in Carmel last fall. I loved Blue Dogs before then, and really wanted to get something, and that was the only print in my price range, and luckily it turned out to be my second favorite. I love that Blue Dog. I have been to the studio in New Orleans. I want one really badly! I really like them. They are awesome. I was sticker shocked when I looked at the prices though. There was one print under $1000, and really its just a fancy poster. I know! I still really want one to hang above the stuffed armadillo I also want to get.

  8. I have an idea for a commission from Nick. I hope I'll be able to see if he can do it soon. . .
  9. I always just assumed you were a disciple of Alexander Abian. I thought you liked "Despicable Me."
  10. The former genus of cuckoo bumblebees. . . they have since been moved to Bombus. I just thought it was an interesting name.
  11. I love charcoal as a medium. It makes such a lovely mess! Ha ha! Those are fantastic, by the way.
  12. Nothing new really, but a few weeks ago, I dug out books from my collection as a teenager. . . some Claremont/Byrne X-Men (#129, 134-137) and all the Death of Superman issues.
  13. probably not, but one never knows....that is some good eating Would I be able to get the chicken biscuits on a Sunday morning, if that happened? my guess is yes. One of my friends from church owns a couple of chick fil a's in town. We have gone on mission trips to Thailand and brazil. Great guy and he tells me they will always stay closed on Sundays I just always find that when I want them, it's on a day I can't get them.

  15. Nice, though. I have three books coming back from Philly from three Firefly cast members. . . when I get them back, I'll have to post them with the other two.
  16. A few people have shared their art backgrounds, and other than a few courses throughout school, I actually had some private lessons with a local caricature artist many years back during my teenage years. I was going to be home over Memorial Day weekend, and I had intended to ask if my parents had run into him at the art fairs, or if he had quit. Before I could ask, my mother informed me that this gentleman had recently passed away. So, given this, I was pretty ecstatic to find some of my old caricatures (from 1994) that weekend, and fondly remembered those classes. I couldn't bring myself to bring them home to Texas with me (my parents like to keep my old art around anyway), but thought maybe I should give them another try, even though I am extremely out of practice. I will soon, I think, but right now, I was thinking about setting up a few outlines of some things I'd like to not only try myself, but perhaps have commissioned in the future. Maybe I'll post even post them!
  17. I've been fortunate enough to meet Nick Pitarra a couple of times. I've got a little sketch cover from both Red Wing and Manhattan Projects. He's a good guy.
  18. Man, I need to buy a scanner. . . Just back today! Black cover variant!
