Thanks for the kind words! I've been under the weather the last few weeks, so my updates have slowed down, but I am still plugging away. I am hoping to have the whole book finished within the next 4 week, with the idea of bringing it to Kickstarter by the end of May to get it published. Sorry for the delay in responding as well - for some reason, I didn't get any notification that I had a comment, so I thought I was just shouting into the void here.

In the latest entry of my production blog on the first issue of The Crimebusters, which is my continuation of Chuck Chandler's adventures from Boy Comics, I discuss font choices, and I also give a preview of the first finished page! MATT BAKER! Finally, I've tried to give you some cheap Matt Baker. But you want it cheaper? Okay, here's the cheapest Matt Baker in the world: My Love #26 - 2.5 - $8 This is tight and flat with really nice gloss. However, someone went HAM on the top edge; there are multiple small tears or cuts along the top edge that go through the whole book. This issue contains a reprint of the Matt Baker story from Love Romances #82. Whoever inked it also went HAM all over Baker's art, because it's... not great. Feels like a rush job. Hey, even Babe Ruth struck out sometimes. As a bonus, the other reprints in this issue include a Jack Kirby story as well as an Al Williamson story! So there's some good reading here. CLAIMED!

This is't really romance, but who am I to argue with a woman wielding an ocelot? Honey West #1 - 2.0 - $10

Go-go checks! This one is pretty dirty, but it's solid, and the price is right. Why not throw it on the pile? Young Love #60 - 3.5 - $8 The back cover has seen some action; at the top edge I think it got wet a little and there's a bit of staining. Overall the book is tight and flat. PQ is edging towards the tan side at the top edges.

who doesn't love 48 big pages?! Heart Throbs #133 - 5.5 - $10 Note the faint crease in the upper left fc quadrant running through the company logo.

MATT BAKER! Finally, this is arguably the best of the Matt Baker interiors. In fact, over at the Matt Baker checklist, that exact argument is made. Lovers #85 - 2.0 - $85 spine is split at top, and as you can see, there's some tanning, staining, and chips, plus general wear usual for this grade. Some of the dark ad moody Baker art that earned it it's reputation: SOLD!

MATT BAKER! Lovers #85 - 2.0 - $39 This has some issues. Beyond the general wear and tear evident for a low grade book, there's a small hole in the fc right by the guy's package. There's also a puncture wound on the back cover, and it carries through several pages. You can barely see it in the scan running down from the ON in MONKEY. It's not very noticeable on the interior either, but it's there. There's also some spine roll. The exterior isn't going to win any beauty contests, but luckily, that's what Baker's interior art is for. Great Baker art and half-splash. SOLD!

Patsy Walker #93 and Kathy #23 sold!

I'm afraid something just came up and I'll have to finish this in a couple hours. There are two Matt Baker books left - Lovers #81, and Lovers #85. My Own Romance #70 - 2.0 - $45 Marvel chipping, centerfold is detached This issue apparently features 3 Matt Baker stories, depending on who you ask! The woman on this half splash is just absolute, pure Baker. SOLD!

MATT BAKER! As Baker covers head through the stratosphere, people are definitely looking for his interior work as a cheaper alternative. Well, they don't get much cheaper than this. Some great romance work from the legend in this issue, and the three books that follow! My Own Romance #69 - 2.0 - $39 spine split at top This features 2 stories by Matt Baker. SOLD!!

To close things out for now, I have 4 low grade Atlas romance books that all feature Matt Baker interior art. A short break and I will post those!

This is the last of the 5 barn, new overstock Atlas books I have. I wish I had more to share, but this was all the dealer had left for romance. He said the guy had over 2000 books in the collection, but I guess this was awhile ago now. Anyways... My Own Romance #44 - 3.5 - $33 This one definitely had the worst of it in terms of the barn books. It's the one that looks like it was in a barn. It's still very tight and glossy, with great color - and a fantastic cover it is. However, it has a dust shadow on the fc right side that also includes faint foxing. Additionally, some water hit the back cover. There are two stains on the back cover, and the top one in particular carries through to the interior pages in the form of a yellow splotch that gets smaller and fainter the closer to the front of the book you get. Ironically, this might have had the best PQ otherwise. Still, looks super nice - nicer than it is. Here's the interior from about halfway through the book - note the yellow stain at the edges, near the top on both sides. SOLD!
