  1. i dont think they made this comic for kids. i think they made this for bronies. quite honestly i think more bronies watch the show than young children.
  2. big thanks to joey for the pressing, two are going right back to cgc though, mislabel
  3. I already opened a case with eBay so I reply to them that the case is open and I will get my fees back once eBay makes a ruling. Tonight I go and look at the items that daydreamer13 has up for sale and I see this Batman 4 CGC SS 9.6 variant that belongs to Sleeper13 as you can see here. So apparently he does not have the funds to pay for an auction that he won as of this morning even though he was selling Bedlam variants all weekend. Like I said, it really pissed me off when I found out my eBay deadbeat was a board member. we are so close and you couldnt offer that batman #4 to me?!?! i nominate you for the probation list
  4. go through mile high comics' website or send it to joeypost for pressing first then he will sub it for you. you wont be able to track online but you can call and ask for updates. if you dont want to break the bank, economy submission but understand you will get the book back the middle of next year. no joke. but you could spring the extra $10 and do fast track. you will get it back a lot sooner.
  5. just give him the money back and get the book back. with every statement you make, your losing potential customers. he doesnt want partial just give all back. dont sell as is unless you post that in the sales thread, and if you do, front and back scans. dont make him send it off for pressing, just give him jis money and take the loss
  6. absolutely not. before becoming a member i submitted books through mile high's website. they were on time for fast tracks and a little behind for economy, a little meaning not over 100 days. you could get the elite or whatever the top membership is, but you get free submission fast track coupons that equal the amount you spent on the membership. your membership doesnt equal preferential treatment.
  7. i have some modern ft's there right now. they recieved on the 24th last month, graded on the 5th, called yesterday and was told they are in encapsulation room and was told it should take 2 weeks to encapsulate and ship. so that is around 25 business days. they should update their estimated turn around time for modern fast tracks.
  8. probably my favorite movie of all time
  9. and didnt they do a million in 2 years or something?
  10. I didn't send any books in and they are taking FOREVER! I feel ya man! WTF! LOUD NOISES!!
  11. you know, when i was waiting for a package from cgc, the post office had it for a week at the annex. no one could explain why it wasnt delivered
  12. yeah, i think they lost your books man. its almost a month and you have not gotten them back. they lost your books
  13. That is the double edged sword, huh? Ten years of educating BUYERS of slabs have helped set the bar of what a BUYER should expect in 9.8....they can pull the wool over the submitter and make them think they got a "great upgrade", but it won't matter much if an educated buyer discounts the book accordingly, thus skewing GPA, thus creating more downward spiral... It's better just to do the grading job right the first time. Maybe hire back some of their old school graders to consult and keep the gang in line. i agree. I was going to sell it, but i would have to find someone new or something who would want it and wouldn't examine the book but there really isn't any need to examine the book, there is just no way it should have come back the grade it did. i'll keep it. it's a great book. looks good. wonder how many they are letting slip by as 9.8's that really aren't 9.8s... don't think many people would argue for a downgrade
  14. They won't give you a refund. If they stop taking submissions and get caught up, when they start accepting submissions again, it will only be a matter of time before they are behind again. It seems the grading is becoming a lot more relaxed though, if that is any comfort. I am packing up to move and was boxing slabs and for some reason looked at a recent 9.8 that i got back not too long ago. There is no way it should be a 9.8. On the flip-side If I sell it, the buyer would probably notice that as well and would return it. I like it but now I am stuck with it forever.
  15. We had stifling 90-100 degree temps. all summer long. Didn't bother me a bit. your humidity was? 90-100 is hot, but, add to that extreme humidity and your going to die.
  16. I guess we can all assume that CGC has no intent of decreasing TAT's. If they did, they would have implemented methods to decrease times. Anything they say that differs from this, is a blatant lie.
  17. you would have to switch to indoor soccer and basketball. or you would have a heat stroke. no joke.
  18. Well, I wouldn't move to Sarasota for less money than I make now but then I'm 42, have 4 kids and a career. Keep in mind that there are lots of people looking for work out there. The benefits sometimes outweigh just the pay check alone. Warm climate. You get to travel for work. Decent work atmosphere (good people). Sometimes it's not just about the money. thats true about needing work. but it also comes down to how much they pay. if you were single, you wouldn't move for a job that pays as much as a full time Walmart employee. and the climate is awful. i live in georgia and the weather here is awful. absolutely awful. you know we didn't get a winter last year? it was summer for a whole year. humid, awful, summer. and we aren't as far south as sarasota. its worse there. We didn't have much of a winter either - had almost no snow up here which is the first time I remember that happening in 40 years. It's personal taste, I think. I'd love to live in your climate. I love the heat and would be able to play soccer and basketball every day. theres a difference between heat and just wanting to die because everyone is slimy. dry heat isn't a problem, shade and or fan. This horrible heat down here is something else. you need ac. i lived in california for 25 years my family only had fans. not until i moved here did i realize AC was a necessity. i understand people living in colder climates want the heat and people living in hotter climates want the cold, but this heat is something you cant escape and it sucks
  19. i don't know how much they make, but it cant be relocating happily type money, otherwise lots more people would be trying to get grading positions
