  2. he might be a brain surgeon or super attorney, in which case his time is worth $600+ per hour. In which case I'm charging him $42 instead of $40.
  3. or it could be a double secret probation even limiteder edition.
  4. its a slow day at work, i'll get it to you in half an hour for $40. PM if interested. haven't seen a definitive list anywhere yet.
  5. I vote that it should be the start of a quick flip for you!
  6. I know what you mean by "allowed." Had to make a deal with the wife, When we get a house with 4 rooms or 3 and a nice basement I get to have my Man Cave. As of right now I'm just waiting.... Yeah, but you can NOT let her put the umbrella there. Either that or move the comics. You are asking for big trouble. Haha the umbrella is gone. It was literally there just overnight one night because we were moving and I set up my comics before we finished setting everything else in its place
  7. notify him that you're posting in this thread, give him 3 days, then out him and put him on the probation list. there's some directions in the first post of some of these threads somewhere....
  8. Ok, I can understand that. When I have a sales thread, I often do price reductions to promote quick sale of books and quick payments - which is why I stipulate the 3 day rule in my overall thread specifications. I don't mind even waiting for payment, but I also stipulate if that is the case, the buyer work it out with me ahead of time. And the reason for that is that I don't want to mark something down and wait 1-2 weeks for payment - because I could take those 1-2 weeks and attempt to sell it for regular price and get my full amount. Like I told Sharon - I don't think the guy has to be nailed to a cross over a $40 sale - especially since no one is out anything other than time and inconvenience, but I was curious to what reprecussion there is (if any) to not following through on a sales thread and if there was some middle road between three days and 30 days. I don't think I'll come back 30 days from now and nominate him to the PL because I'll just move on with life and give him ONE STAR on my personal star ratings list. Hey Dr. B, If the offer still stands at the Gauntlet 1-6 and Guardians #24 for $40 shipped I would Sure - let's do it. I'll PM you. another victory for the probation discussion thread
  9. I think he stated that the artist will hold onto it in the interim.
  10. yea if the artist gives it to a cgc rep, its cool. get your yellow on
  11. G.I. Joe #21 second printing does not exist. Only 1st and 3rd. (In other words, all the third printings would technically be second prints. But since they all say "Third Printing" on the 1st page, that's how they are labeled.) correct no 2nd printing. But if you have enough OCD and money, you can get all the Newsstand, Direct, and Canadian Price Variants if you don't already have them. If you do, then KUDOS to you!
  12. deser desert wind submitted some moderns SS for me at ECC. I got them back the end of may/first week of june. SO I think just a bit more than 2 months.

    My RAW Top 10

Another Top 10 Everyone is doing CGC Top 10's, tons of my comics are out for slabbing, so I will do my RAW Top 10 for my collection (which is by no means impressive). This will go Silver to Modern, mostly DC and Marvel. Brief Background: Collected a long time ago, and my dad did more, got back into it in the early 90's, left comics again, got back in around 2007ish. When I was younger I liked stories more, and as I got older I like art (and covers more). Now for recent moderns I'm pretty into sketch cover comics. *Note - Value and/or collectability play very little into these rankings. Thanks for checking out my list. First up: Honorable Mention - Django Unchained #1 2nd print (love Quentin, love Jim Lee sketch covers), Darkhawk #6 (man did I love DH back then), Star Wars 1 (This probably would have been ranked higher if I had it in higher grade) To see old comments for this Journal entry, click here. 14. perhaps some disgruntled soul here will create a wiki about him...notorious cheat and scallywag, famous for his lightboxery and skullduggery
  15. Allowed! Is it time to put your balls in her purse,or are they already there? Take your balls back, and be a man!........Allow........ sheesh! Wow. You too Oakman? Mine are in my wife's purse too I guess. I can't do mess unless my wife give's me the okay. Nothing wrong with letting people playing different roles in a relationship. Some people are more into/better at arranging decorations and home furnishings than other people. That's not my forte, if some of you guys love arranging flowers and figuring out which rug goes with which chair goes with which cushion, and love figuring out if your tope shelves go with the mauve curtains, good for you. I don't have a great artistic eye, but I do know that she has made our place look amazing, largely without any input (although I've helped with physical labor) from me. We don't have a ton of space to work with, so I'm happy to have a place to display my comics that doesn't mess with some of our aesthetic themes in other areas of the house.
  16. Bought an SS4 from tiger. everything about the transaction was fantastic. Price, speed, shipping, comic all great thanks a bunch!
  17. I actually assumed he was lightboxing and everyone knew about it, and wanted it. (assuming you credit the original artist and its not an EXACT EXACT recreation) his specialty is seems to be re-creations w/ a twist (or straight re-creations). And light boxing seems efficient and most likely to get something near the original... Or is that art 'theft'? I guess I was both ignorant and more informed on this issue at the same time.
  18. agree So personal problems are an acceptable justification for stealing from people over a multi-year period? Good to know! The OP for this thread states that he wants other people who search for AC to find this thread, and hopes that his statements will prevent them from doing business with AC. Naming these personal issues (real or not) in the fashion presented might distract from the facts, IMO. The facts are: This guy took my money for services, never provided the services, and still has my money, 1-3 years later. You might mention the excuses he made, but it may come off a bit distasteful (to a stranger reading this thread) to say you don't care about their personal (named) issues, even if you don't. Its the difference between a stranger perceiving a angry internet rant and a credible warning. Nothing 'wrong' with either, just depends on what your goals are. my 2 cents.
  19. Crassus from Canada has a shipping address in the US!!!! Sell to him!!!! It's fun!!! Thanks for the purchases!!!
  20. actually the umbrella was there before the comic population of the tower. its dry, hasn't rained here in months. Until today, which mean's she'll probably take it back to her car where it typically hangs out. I could have taken the umbrella down, but it was fairly stable and I was lazy, and I enjoy the occasionally emasculation here on the boards.
  21. that umbrella could fall.... accident waiting to happen there, dude! I've got a few other random comic stuffs, a poster, a collage, a single comic on display here and there around the house, just nothing so concentrated as here. THe umbrella at worst knocks over that one comic at the bottom if it falls (which is mid grade and in the hard sleeve thingy). The umbrella isn't a permanent fixture at this location. It rained today so its probably going in the car going forward. garage slab display opinions? any issues?
