Hi, you certainly do not have to use our shipping kits or window bags when sending in your books.  We merely offer them in our CCG store as a lot of customers aren't sure where to get items like this and we wanted to make it convenient for customers.  We are sorry about the backordered items and hope to have them back in stock soon.  But in the meantime, if you are wanting to send something in for one of the upcoming signings, I would go ahead and use your own materials so as not to miss the cut off date for that signing.

    Thank you for your message.  I am sorry to hear about the problems that you have had with UPS and getting your package to us.  If the package can be located we can still accept it as long as it is received and logged in before the actual signing takes place.  The George Perez signing will be in about two weeks.

    If the order has not been received yet then you have not yet been charged.  The online form is not a live form so you are not charged anything until we receive your order and the package has been opened and logged in.  If the worst happens and the package is never received here at CGC then you would not be charged.

    Thank you for your message. If the signing is not witnessed by an authorized CGC witness and directly submitted for grading, then the signature cannot be authenticated for Signature Series. Testimonials, photographs, video recordings, certificates of authenticity and any other proof of signing are not accepted.


    Any items that have already been signed would not qualify for Signature Series label.  In most cases they would receive a green Qualified label.  This allows the graders to ignore the signature for grading purposes and the book is not downgraded for the writing. 

     

    Generally, at or below a 6.0 the writing/signature on the cover no longer has a significant impact on the grade and our graders may feel it is not necessary to qualify the grade.  They will factor the signature into grade and the book would receive a Universal (blue) label with the same notation of name on cover in marker.

     

    Please do not send in COAs but retain them for your records as they are not needed for grading and may not be returned to you.

    Thank you for your message. The time frame for a dealer application can vary depending on how quickly your references respond to us.  Often times, if the application process takes more than 3-4 weeks it is because we are still trying to get in touch with a reference listed on your application.  You can find out the status of your application by contacting us at: dealerapp@collectiblesgroup.com.  

    You can always upgrade your membership at any time.  If you renew or upgrade within 30 days of your expiration date, you do receive the discounted renewal rate.  You would just need to log into your account go up to the "My CGC" logo in the top right corner and then go down to "My Account" and click on membership. However, if you are applying to be a dealer, you might want to wait to see if you are approved first because if you are approved then your Collector's Society account would be closed and you would lose any money paid for an upgrade.  

    Unfortunately, we are not grading stamps here in our U.S. office at this time.  Generally, all stamps are currently being graded in our offices in China. If you have specific questions, you can reach out to ASG at:  Service@ASGstamps.com

    Thank you for your message. We are sorry about the backordered items on our CCG store.  A number of retailers do sell window bags but you can also make your own from regular bags.  It is not required to use CGC's bags.

    Thank you for your message.  Yes, you can submit different grading tiers and services on one order.  You want to include everything that is on that order in the same box, however.  So, if you do want to break your shipment up into different boxes, you should create a separate order with a separate packing slip for each shipping box and not break them up.  Just be sure to include the appropriate packing slip in with the books and make sure they are in the order listed on your packing slip and you should be good to go.

  9. Hello, you definitely can add custom labels to fast track orders.  If it isn't showing up on your packing slip for some reason, you can manually write that on the packing slip.  Just be sure to write that in large bold letters so we don't miss it when your order is logged in.

    Thank you for your message.  The only time we refuse a package is if it arrives at our office with visible damage to the box.  We will refuse the package so it goes back to the sender and they can verify nothing is missing or damaged.  We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

    Thank you for your message. No, pressing has always been a much lengthier process than grading.  Our turnaround times are quite long right now due to the volume of submissions we have been receiving, however, even when our volume was less the pressing time was still much longer than the grading time.  This is due to the fact that we only have a limited number of pressing machines and often we will run books through the pressing process multiple times to get out as many defects as possible.

No, that is correct.  When you select options like special labels or pressing, etc. on some books but not all, then they will be separated when they are received and completed at different times.  You would be charged separate shipping fees on those submissions as they will ship out at different times.

    Thank you for your message.  I checked with our graders on this and there is no quantified measurements for these terms but generally speaking a small split would be around 1" or less, a medium split would be around 1" to 4" and a large split could be up to the entire length of the spine. A fully split spine, however, would be noted as such on the label.  Please be aware that these are just generalizations and you may find some examples that differ in length slightly.

    Thank you for your message.  Quality Control is the final stage before shipping. Once the order goes through quality control then it will be finalized and approved for shipping and from there will go down to our shipping department.  So, if you see that status then you know that it is close to getting down to shipping at that point. You will receive an email with the tracking number once that ships out.

    Thank you for your message.  CGC does not certify books that are sealed in a manufacturer's poly-bag. To have a poly-bagged book certified by CGC, you must either remove the book from its poly-bag or send written approval authorizing CGC to remove it. The words “Poly-bag removed” will appear in the key comments section on the CGC label.

    The label will not specify if any loose item was in the poly-bag with the comic. When the comic graders remove items from a poly-bagged comic, the items are returned to the submitter in a separate mylar/bag and board.

    Thank you for your message.  We are currently opening packages received in our office from the week of January 10th.  We haven't started opening mail from the 19th yet.  You can check our website for the current week we are opening as well as to check the tracking number of your package to verify it was delivered:

    You will receive an email once your package has been opened and the order logged in.  As long as you package is received in our office by the cut off date for the signing, then there is no problem, even if the package isn't opened or logged in by that date.

    Thank you for your message. We don't have a set time frame for Mechanical Errors as it will depend on what the issue is and what needs to be done with the book. However, we do try to expedite those as much as possible.  The general time frame for just a simple label correction should be about 2-3 weeks.

Both invoices are here and in line to be graded.  Right now, the Economy tier is running about 195 business days and the Value tier is about 175 business days.  CGC Services & Fees | CGC (cgccomics.com)  Based on the dates we are currently working on, it will most likely be at least another 30-60 days before you start seeing either invoice finishing up.

In order to submit books for grading, you do have to be a paid member of our Collector's Society.  You can find out more here: How to Submit | CGC (cgccomics.com).  Unfortunately, we do not have a bulk tier for larger volumes of books. You can find all of our grading fees here: CGC Services & Fees | CGC (cgccomics.com)  If you are interested in submitting thousands of books then you could email us with the number of books you want to submit, the types of books you have and we can forward that to management for review.

    Thank you for your message.  Yes, you can send multiple private signing orders in the same box.  Just be sure to separate them based on the order and include the appropriate packing slip with each group of books.  You also want to write each artist's initials on the outside of the box. You can provide your own window bags inside the box as well.
