  1. Not hating, but last week's episode was kinda "wtf?" to me too. At work people who never read the book but enjoy the show felt the same way. Not one person I chat with at work thought it was a good episode, best I heard was that it was "just alright."

I felt like I was watching a different show, kinda Twilight Zone-ish.

  2. has anyone who ordered the Mcfarlane Rick Grimes Resin Proof statue, limited to 50, received it yet. Seems like it might be a bit delayed, at least mine is.

At NYCC I ended up chatting with a guy at the McFarlane booth whom I initially thought was just a sales rep. However after he introduced himself I learned that he is involved with day-to-day operations and marketing or something along those lines for McFarlane Toys. I cannot remember his name, but when I told him how excited I was to get the Rick Grimes statue, he said I should expect for it to mail out in a couple of weeks. I told him I'd preordered the AP version and he informed me that there was a "quality control" issue and a mistake made that will cause the artist proof statues to ship at least a couple of weeks later than the painted ones. He asked me not to share all specific details he'd made me privy to, but that I could say what I just did.

  3. i'm really surprised at the lack of promotion for the rick statue. the michonne statue got a fair bit of promo, Mcfarlane even did a video before it came out detailing the statue. wish there was more online about it..

    +1

I gotta agree here; both Skybound and McFarlane Toys could've done a better job promoting this one. I remember the Michonne statue was everywhere, including that video you mentioned.

Maybe they slacked a bit thinking "hey, it's Rick 'effin' Grimes, it'll sell itself!"

  4. In the past I have ordered Phantom variants directly from Larry's online store, but I don't see these on there yet. Maybe the site hasn't updated... Larry, will you be offering these in your online store? I'd like two of each, or at least one of each... :wishluck:

My website is down for a bit.

    I'm dumb.

There are 31 other shops with functioning sites though.

There could be 100 other shops with functioning websites, but I've always been satisfied with purchases I've made from your online store, so I wanted to stick with what I know, instead of gambling with what I don't! Books I've purchased from you in the past have arrived minty fresh and in superb packaging, whatever though.

  5. Would $13 be a good price for Wytches #2 Phantom variant?

Most Phantom shops offer them at cover price for walk in customers.

Is there a shop near you?

One of the points of the program is to generate foot traffic for brick & mortar shops.

The one in San Diego charges $10 usually.

Comikazi hasn't been in for six months

Shops that charge over cover usually don't do well.

Online most shops charge a premium

Too bad there's no shops in NYC participating in the Phantom program... :sorry:

  6. Many had not even heard of Five Ghosts. I wish there was some way to get more people to notice this series, although I think the TV show and the more media exposure that goes along with it will definitely change that.

I think Image does an excellent job of promoting certain titles to death, but some excellent titles like Five Ghosts and Revival don't get as much love on the promotion end. I wonder how it's decided which titles will receive heavy promotion... hm

  7. This show is set in the dark for a lot of good parts and I just cant see WTF is going on half the time. Yeah my eyes cant see as good as they used to, but watching TWD makes me feel like I have gone totally blind.

Maybe you need to calibrate your television; I was experiencing this issue with some movies and video games (scenes were too dark!) which was annoying. I found some calibration tips online for my tv model and once I did that, those problems were solved! I'd like to have at least my living room tv professionally calibrated, but it's a bit expensive; I'm good for now though.

  8. Kirkman has hinted we may yet see a female villain. Money has to be 50 / 50 between Michonne or a new character.

Michonne loves Rick and Carl. Magna could still be the female villain, right? She could be the leader of the whisperers infiltrating Rick's group to destroy them from within. Kinda like what Hydra did with SHIELD... Or maybe I'm just :screwy:

    Hoarse whisperers? (shrug)

    :tonofbricks:

    :roflmao:

  9. So conflicted today. I'm in a goo mood because things are moving forward with getting my own store open, but I need to liquidate some things to show a better cash position, so I may potentially be selling off some of my stuff but I really don't want to. :(

Tough position to be in, bud. After you open the store your business will be successful enough that you'll be easily able to buy back whatever you hafta sell now... Amen to that, yeah?
