Hey Mitch,
I have not seen this particular copy, but at 9.4 how much risk are you actually taking other than a severe lecture from the wife for spending $14k on a comic...

Thanks. I love the cover too. Remember Pearl Harbor!
Yeah, very nice catch Sir, hard not to get sniped on an MLJ.

Does anyone have a 40 or 48 they would like to share?
NBC (no back cover), nice pages.
Never get tired of this one Steve
I hope you upgrade someday
A copy missing bc is about all i think i could ever afford in this book. Heck, I d be happy with a front cover only or just a coverless copy.

I also prefer Adventure as a title to Action, and the early books are why. This is my absolute favorite Flessel cover! Thanks!
I agree it is top of the list. Not only is it a great composition, but the inking is masterful. Anyone know if Flessel also did the inking on his work or did DC have anonymous artists filling the gaps for dead lines.

thanks my friend we really are super psyched!!!!!! and you did that?
that is phenomenal!! Really it is... I think it is time to get back on the horse and do some more man!!!
No, I wish I had the talent. I had it commissioned.
Congrats again! Sleepless nights, poopy diapers, burping I miss those days.
A big congrats to Gino!! I am surprised your getting to sleep now : ) The day is coming when you will get as excited over the daily reqd poopy diaper as when that next new GA book arrives in the mail. Take care buddy

Crippen copy
Nice Super Duck
I never got into humor much as i generally didnt even get the jokes in these older books such as Prehero DC or later MoreFun issues, but MLJ are quite good. Some of the funny animal art i saw in PEP even rivaled Disney IMHO. At least I enjoyed it as much.

i don't collect this run anymore, but i've always like this one, and have usually seen it very, very faded [the white mountain has been for sale on ebay awhile, but is washed out]. saw this one and grabbed it. it's actually much more colorful than my pitiful little camera shot shows.
Her and Phantasmo had the same wardrobe designer

Thanks to all those who gave up bidding early so I could win at a decent price.

I have never used CLink. The website style appears old and outdated and I noticed many listings of comics being posted in 2007, any chance these older postings are valid? Anyone have experience they can share? Thx
the older the listing, the less likely the OP still has the book they were trying to sell.
Sometimes it works out, but more often than not you make the offer or the buy and then a few days later your purchase gets rescinded when the seller notifies CLINK that the book is no longer available.
That is helpful info, so if someone tried to buy the same book before me and it was not available, Clink would have scrubbed it already. I went a ahead and tried it so we will see what happens. Appreciate both responses to help me.
I dont think this is actually happening. Or if it is, it's not happening every time.
There are books with "offers" that have had those "offers" for as long as I can remember.
CLINK is in the business of "least effort" (cause effort equals manpower which equals them spending $). Thus why no back cover scans on books, old website design, very little data scrubbing/inventory mgmt...
Well, guess your right. I got an email that book was no longer available. Fortunately they removed it from their dbase.

I don't have a lot of Fiction House books, but is THIS a good one?
Funny, that issue is on page 1 of this old thread.

Thanks guys!Congratulations. That's a tough run to complete. I'm sure you'll be able to find the #1; it's easier to find than many of the other issues in the run that you already have.
Oh man, don't I know it. I started this back in 2006 or so, and there's a few Weirds in the #11-20 range I've still never seen for sale other than the specific copies I picked up.
I've seen #1s go by and just not found the right combo of condition & price, plus missed a few I might have otherwise taken just because of timing. But as I say, this is the year!
I've posted some of my issues piecemeal over the years, but once I finally complete the run I figure I'll dedicate a thread a la Miamiknight's with full scans of all the covers and some interiors... plus shout outs to some kind boardies. (thumbs u
Thats the ticket - & thx for the group shot Jon

Well Merry Christmas to me! At long last my Jackpot 4 has returned nearly a year after it left. Big thanks to Kenny and Matt for adding the missing edge to the back cover and taking it from a 3.5 S to a 7.0 M.
Here's the final graded product.
Here's the front … as beautiful as it always was.
Here is the back with that beautiful new restored edge.
Here is the label for anyone interested (also a closer look at the top of the book and it's rich colors)
And finally, here is the best part of the cover from the only angle that would allow me to use a flash and represent the actual colors of the book.
Enjoy … and Happy Holidays to all!
P.S. There is a hay penny in it for anyone who can tell me how the F@$% to photograph or scan a slab. If you shoot no flash in the light it's washed out and on an angle so as not to create shadows with hands, camera and noggin; if you shoot flash you either get a flash on the case or have to come at it from some stupid angle; if you scan it, and I have a very nice scanner, you still get reflection on the case and the label is always blurred due to the angle of the Barex that contains it. Advice, that can be applied by the layman without having to construct a light box, is beyond welcome!
Very nice! Congrats

Sold Mitch an EC comic. He was local to me, so able to pick up in person. Mitch is a great asset to this community. Hope hang out again in the future.
Take care

I challenge anyone to put together a New Adventure run, regardless of grade. It's been done before, but good luck doing it now.
I was really hoping that was the next thread youd start... day after day posting each Adventure issue up to say... 51 - ending w the classic sandman cover.

3 is Hangman #2
Thanks! It was driving me nuts that we (I) couldn't figure out one of the [...]man comics from that time period. Different logo on that one and a great cover (at least the other half, the one we don't see, is).
Below #3 is Human Torch. That pic has it all.
