this is suppose to be a pedigree, but i can't remember which one.
Oh yeah---the "BA" pedigree. This guy basically bought and placed his inscription in the CCA box. Sold his books about 1.5 years ago on eBay. I think I might even have one or two of his books. The 'pedigree' is self proclaimed, however.
I'll dig up my auctions and see if I can remember who it was...

wow, that Witching hour #1 is REALLY high for a 9.4 already. Yeeesshhh.... I am guessing $567 with ast at the finish...
That sounds about right---the #1 that went up last year was around $450, I think I won mine for less and was the Oakland pedigree to boot.
And I've been bidding on a TON of Marvel bronze horror books today--and I can't get a decent shot in today. Throw in the towel for another day...

I'll pick up some readers and let ya know what I think...some of these covers are pretty good, and the few issues I picked up as a kid were pretty creepy too (I usually just didn't like the cheap paper and some of the art--but by the time I picked up my copies around 1977 or so they were decidedly going downhill).

I'm going to pick up some Charltons now....

Where are the CGC 6.5 copies?
Don't mind posting those either, hater!
These books didn't do as well, but still nice copied IMHO.
Notice that the structure of SOSH7 is at least VF+, but there's a large bindery crease on the front cover that pulls it down to FN. The DMFL2 (another favorite Adams cover for me) suffers from dirty back, and FC ULC and BC URC damage and FC top edge damage.

nice books... i like how you post the small pics of the books as links. whenever i post pics, they come out huge.
Actually, the image provider I use stores the image as both a thumbnail and a large pic--I wrap a simple HTML IMG SRC for the thumbnail around a HREF which actually loads the larger image.

do you want my CGC 8.5 or CGC 9.6?
9.6 of course. I just bought two #2s raw. One maybe a 9.0, the other hopefully a 9.4. ----Sid
It's buried somewhere in my disorganized mess. I'll see if I can find it and post it tomorrow....

DC loved hurting dogs in their 70's books. I don't know why, but there are tons of examples. Here is one....
In reference to Ghosts 13: I keep getting "jinxed" on this one. I missed out on a CGC 9.4 copy two years ago, and lost a bid to a NM- copy recently....

hey gang--nice posts! Finally got home to peruse my CGC books--and I have to say that I agree with the grades with almost all of them. Unfortunately, I shipped these off "blind" if you will to CGC 3 weeks before I joined the board...The info I know now could've saved me some cash...Some interesting info too I want to share when I can post some pics....
OK, posting pics tonight

argghhh....I need a 190...anyone....Bueller...anyone?!?

I just bought all of Terry's high grade horror books last week. You guys cleaned him out
-
Wow, a HOM #26!!!
-
nice, I tragically bought two "NM" copies that have turned out to be VF+ copies...
-
I am sorry about that. It looked like a very nice book. I guess you never can tell. I can't begin to count all of the (FINE) NM books I've bought off ebay.
Amen to that!
-
Here's HOS 151
Ahh yes, I have that one in CGC 9.4
-
290 is 1st i vampire
No luck for me either on that issue.
-
isn't it interesting that I'm not seeing many Marvel horror covers?...hmmm.... Could it be because DC ruled the horror roost during the Bronze Age? What say you?!?
-
I have 2 but I love that cover so
That's ok, I'm in no rush...
-
i have never seen a true NM witching hour #10, what a tough cover.....
So the well has run dry of stored scans...Oh well, it was good while it lasted!
#10 is really tough!!!!

Actually, I do have the complete Dark Mansion run saved!
My #8 "NM" from LoneStar had a nasty back cover stain...and I just got sniped out of #7 today...anybody got a spare #7

although I think this type of conversation could be classified as HORROR, let's get back to the comics, eh?
