  1. great pick up!! how yall been? hope you guys are great <3
  2. good looking game? i didn't see any game, just blood splattered on a chalkboard, then kirkman with lucille. Howdy everyone I agree - no game play -- I am keeping my fingers crossed for a Fallout type game in the WD universe. It has the potential to be a "best yet" franchise hit. The community is aching for a FPS/open world universe similar to Fallout / Borderlands / L4D / Portal blended into one..well at least I am! WD will fit that bill nicely!! Did someone mention a page 1 interest....James, PM me
  3. Howdy all. Haven't been around much but figured I'd share the final version of a long awaited commission by Chris Warner. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I do.
  4. 2nd link is at least fun. The WD crew should have drained the pudding tin, cleaned it, and had a bunch of the cast sign it. At least then it would have had an interest to collectors...I totally would have bid on something like that... Hope everyone on the boards is well
  5. Unofficially yes, officially no - my cc has to finish their investigation, which off the record has been done, but on the record, it will take up to 60 days.
  6. nice piece..love the zombie brains but Carl looks a bit like a m0ngol0id
  7. I wonder if Tony has a busy schedule...why not do a few commissions here and there? He's got the hot hand right now - no reason not to draw whatever he feels (as I genuinely think he has a disdain for drawing anything TWD related) and let a few a month or so run on his Ebay so he can control it from a secondary market. Finally JS shows up! Very true. I saw TM at NYCC last year and he wasn't that busy at all. Well he didn't look busy to me, I watched him for a moment talking to a customer about some sigs. Anyways, I think he will draw you what ever. I saw his prices were around $600 for a sketch and $1000 for a commission, IIRC. Right but that only pops up at con season - I mean a contact through his site - or just auction of his doodles - he's got to be drawing, even for fun - I mean that is I guess if he wants to even sell / show his stuff -- I feel like by not responding to fans you are only alienating yourself but just my

  9. Thanks...yeah this situation has left me baffled. I've never seen anyone, let alone a store owner act like this before. He actually wished someone would "die of aids".
  10. Hey guys. I'm not sure if anyone in here has heard but I have been going through something pretty crazy for the past few days. I know this is not the right thread but I am hoping someone here has some connections and can do something about it. I'm also hoping that the majority of the people on the board I know are here and that by posting here they can see it, even though it is on the comics general page right now ( here ) Long story short I was scammed by a local comic/gaming store: Blu Planet Comics. I paid for some Magic The Gathering items on 1/28/14 and after waiting 3 weeks, I asked for a refund - the seller stopped communicating with me until I called from a blocked number. He answered and was caught off-guard. I told him I want a refund. He made up a whole bunch of stuff and that's when I opened a cc dispute. Now that would be all fine and great, except he is vehemently denying me a refund and thinks I am not entitled to one until I remove my public opinion of him. That's when things got out of hand. He went crazy on reddit and posted my personal information on his facebook. I don't want to post the whole story again here, so click over to reddit and see all the details including the posts, his completely unethical and uncool behavior, and my responses. So, sorry this is in the wrong thread, but please if anyone can help I would really appreciate it. Here is the link to the reddit thread with all the details Thanks - JS

  12. www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1084379 nice pick up James - its a top 5 wd cover to me
  13. Dammit wehat happened?? hppy new year fellow znombie nerds!
  14. It was a selling price though, not an asking price. The page was most likely not purchased because the owner loved the image of Rick laying in a bed. James is right in saying it's the provenance of the piece that makes it desirable. It may be only Rick laying in a bed, but it is the beginning of the story as we know it. In terms of content, however, I think some of you are right in thinking that for 8k one could get some much better art. We evaluate OA with very different criteria than other art. Devoid of context, this is merely a simple pen/ink drawing of a dude in a hospital bed. To someone who doesn't know what it represents, sure, it's a boring scene. But for WD fans, this page from #1 has importance. At the very least, for the reasons that you list. To fixate on, for example, leg hair, is to have a very superficial grasp of OA. To not understand that OA is rarely valued solely for the quality of the illustration, is to not understand the OA market. As a parallel, the first page from WATCHMEN #1 was sold at Heritage a few years ago. Taken on its own, it's not an exciting page. There's no action. There are no main characters. And yet, it sold for the highest amount for an interior WM page at auction. It still hasn't been topped. I'm not saying I would have bought those pages for the prices they sold for, or that I wouldn't prefer other examples. But I get why there are others who would. Me too. And this is what I was trying to stress. People are going to have different tastes because of the subjective nature of art. Some people will ultimately want art because it's from a certain point in a story; because it was from the first issue - or the last issue; because it's a splash page; or because it was from climax of their favorite story arc. I bought my two pages from issue 65 because I loved the scene. It's only after owning them for a few years now that I noticed that more than half the art isn't considered "ideal" by many collectors. There's only a few panels with main characters, no zombies, ect. More than half the art depicts C level characters. But I wanted that scene. I wanted to have that part of the story on my wall. I said this before: In terms of content, however, I think some of you are right in thinking that for 8k one could get some much better art. I still think this is true. I'd also say, however, that in terms of context, it's still a page from issue #1 so most collectors will likely want to own art from a #1 issue that they like. That's all it takes to have a price like 8k for this splash, or (15K?) for the Watchmen page IIRC.. http://www.cnn.com/2013/11/12/us/francis-bacon-painting-art-auction/ same points I make..142 million bucks on a painting that looks like an 8 year old painted it...but to each their own
  15. i mean its got some horror elements to it - the idea of waking up in a hospital bed alone is scary and a good way to set off the present in the book - its just pretty vanilla, art-wise is all - i feel like for 8 grand, the art side of the piece should be more than whats given -
  16. really? i said my piece on the page when it was on ebay - 8k for that page is insanity - its got zero going for it other than the first appearance. its got little-to-nothing to do with the theme of twd. no zombies, no action, and its not even an interesting scene..its literally rick, laying down in a bed. the coolest part of it is how tony draws the hair on his legs. 8k for hairy-legged rick in a bed?
  17. Thanks guys about the page -- yeah this will be a nice 4-page framing job -- I own like 10 pages from the issue! Very excited..
  18. Happy to add another page - this one in line to complete a nice little scene: Issue 81 Pages 14-15 Issue 81 Page 16 and the new one Issue 81 - Page 17
