  1. I'll chime in and say I have a key SA book I was trying to sell, granted it's not perfect centering and has some issues, but it's a solid book. Got a ridiculous low offer on it; said individual is asking well above GPA for what he had for sale. I know asking vs. actually selling are two separate things, but I got a line of BS for what I wanted for my book and the issues with it and no response when I called him out on his overinflated prices.
  2. Those 7's are great looking. Wish I hadn't been out of work a couple of years ago, could have had a nice 2.5 or 3.0. I can feel being a member of this club slipping away...
  3. I've tried to stay away from this thread. I'm sorry I finally caved. Trailers don't look appealing at all, bummer..
  4. You're correct. Link? I've seen it openly listed in a couple of threads or often hinted at, one quite recently. Guess it should be expected, there's always going to be ppl that want to bend the rules. Perhaps the mentality is that it's a fee free and faster way of personal check/money order. I don't like losing money either to Ebay/PP/auction house fees, but whatever. It's going to happen regardless of it being discussed and/or ranted about.
  5. What about payment method? I thought personal/gift PP option was listed in the guidelines as a no-no?
  6. All things hacked. Squarecross... you can undo most restoration to a book, you can't undo destruction. Travesty to the books and the collectors who would have been happy with them un-hacked.
  7. I remember. I messaged him a couple of times on a few books back in the day as to how he had so many high grade books. I can't recall his exact answer, but whatever it was it smelled like freshly fertilized farmland in the springtime. I later found out via the boards early incarnation as to who this person was and what they were doing to books. So I avoided that debacle. Unfortunately, I got burned by someone else, who I often wonder is still out there lurking or ripping people off on "guaranteed unrestored" books.
  8. Grabbed a couple of raw books from Dan and agree with the assigned grades. Thanks again!
  9. Ditto. And I also think....lucky. Hopefully '15 is the year I join.
  10. This sounds like fun, but that's a loooong wait list. Perhaps someone should have an amber alert issued for him since he hasn't made it to Scturo. I wonder if Kraven would like to visit Gettysburg or 3 Mile Island.
  11. Just received a book from the Bay packaged in a paper envelope with a couple pieces of poster board. Fortunately, the comic didn't get rolled or folded by the mailman. More surprisingly, it didn't get damaged in transit. Not a high grade book nor a key (though he has a couple keys for sale), but nonetheless. Seller has gotten one neg already for lack of packing skills. I didn't neg him, just noted in my feedback that he could improve packing skills. Also messaged him with a link to the "how to package thread".
  12. Bought an ASM 50 a few weeks ago. Arrived safe, secure and agree with assigned grade. Thank you.
  13. Nothing major but picked up a NM annual 2 for a buck in 9.0 range. Any time I come across comics at a yard sale, flea market or antique shop it's usually drek or beat up gold keys/classic illustrated.
  14. Got my lot of books and grading looks spot on. They arrived safely in the secured packaging. Thanks Mark!
  15. Snagged a sweet Spidey 62. Packaged very well and got to me very quickly. Hope to do more business. Thank you Brock!
  16. Spidey 119 April '73 issue, but 122 was on the newsstand that month.
  17. Purchased a decent group of FF's. Packaging was superior to anything I've seen in a long time. Kaspar made great effort to make sure the books could safely make the trek from Canada to Pennsylvania. Books were accurately described and in line with my grading standards. Thanks again Kaspar!! (thumbs u
  18. Finally got around to posting this, but I got it back a week before Christmas. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  19. My first SS experience, not sure if I'd do it again. Got this back a week before Christmas, was a nice surprise; thought it might get an 8.5 based on some other subs. Picked it up from Flying Donut a while back. I met him at Baltimore and he said it came from a church that had a collection of books. So, it truly is a Holy Batman! Also picked up couple of Thor and Iron Man prints from Adams as well. Nice guy, though I think he was a bit offended when I told him I didn't want the book personalized. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  20. I have to agree with the OP. As far as Marvel, 60's Spidey series was cool back in the day.
  21. Finally used my coupons and first submission in over a decade. No PLODS, so that's a plus. IM were in the ballpark as I expected. The ASM #2 was a surprise, I had it at 4.5 due to the chipping. The HoS 92, was hoping for an 8.0, but I'll take a 7.5. As for the recent inner well issues; the ASM doesn't appear to have the "crater", the others do, though one on the IM isn't as profound. 22. From my limited experience with injection molding, if there were any structural/visual defects (blistering, warping, or gassing) the buyers wouldn't accept the pieces. We'd have to fine tune the press until it was right or lose business. Either the manufacturer changed materials/specs or CGC found another supplier. Either way accepting this as normal (when it was rarely if ever an issue) and passing it on to the paying customer is unacceptable. I too disagree with the "this will not effect the book" response. This will leave an indentation on the book. I've got some sub coupons to use and was planning on submitting additional books @ Baltimore. I will just utilize my coupons since they expire in a few months. I guess if there's any positive side to this, CCS, JoeyPost and anyone who presses will benefit from the plethora of books that will have these crater impressions.
