  1. I didn't read that either Bagel But, I saw the concert this summer... A may zing!
  2. Read this... Okay. I'll be quick. My LCS guy is kinda standoffish and wasn't there yesterday. So I walked around looking at some back issues and came across an X-Men 141 with no price on it. I asked the other guy how much? He said, "hold on, let me call the owner." It looked rough, but hey, I wanted it. The guy gets off the phone and says, "Yeah, that one is $75." I said, "no thanks." I looked at a girl standing beside the counter (your typical comic lurker) and said, "what would you grade this book, I'm not buying it but just for fun I'm going to write down a number and see what you think." She looked and after a minute said, "probably fine, around a 5.0 grade." I turned over my number and had written 5.5. No big deal. I bought on on eBay last night for $30 and it looks better than the on in the LCS. Just a quick rant for you boardies... Ryan PIC of the one I bought below... 3. My third eye phantoms did not have the phantom logo (FYI)
  4. Revival is awesome. All books have ebbs and flows. I think something big is going to go down before the end of this first arc...
  5. Panoramic like then Negan WD 97-102??
  6. I had the same thought pattern. Don't get me wrong, I totally dig MP (one of my favs), but they are not super eye appealing in slabs. Just my Ryan
  7. Nope And all the regular copies I've seen have white fuzz (of varying degrees) on the spine corners. I'd be curious if there are any with sharp corners. Doubt it. It's a bigger book (like Saga #1). Mine too.
  8. A few quick comments: (1) Thirds eyes came in... Looking good (4 out of 5). Thanks! (2) Finally read the book. Yes, the girl scene was not cool, but outside of this I thought the premise rocked. The Madder Red reminds me of the Joker (genius madman). (3) Art and story were well done (liked the contrast from black and white to color). (4) HugeRosen goes two-for-two today with the FP bottle comment - (thumbs u (5) I'll stick around for a bit on this title. Ryan
  9. fixed that for you (both compendium volumes for around $80)
  10. I check the tracking and should have some at home when I get there. I'll keep you posted. Ryan
  11. As a teacher, you should probably re-read the TPBs first. I'm not sure some of it may meet with approval from your School Board or community. I was a high school teacher as well. There is nothing wrong with recommending something to read on their own time. It's only an issue if you are using it in your curriculum. Tell those kids to read! (thumbs u Yep... Granny use to says, "let those kids read anything, even if it's garbage, as long as they are reading!"
  12. Just bought another first print #33 (not a 9.8 though - prob a 9.4). Had a #33 9.8 (graded), but sold it. Trying to put together a first 48 run and not all 9.8's. No rush in doing it either, just an issue or two a month. Obviously some will be difficult to pull the trigger (1-5, 19, 27).
  13. I guess for me it's something 'different' and it does pull you in once you start reading it. I'm glad they are doing some backstory on the next arc (The Stalk is Back). As for speculation, I only own 3 copies of #1, so I'm here as a fan. Ryan
  14. Why didn't my teachers recommend trades over American lit (the world may never know).
  15. Just bought another first print #33 (not a 9.8 though - prob a 9.4).
  16. Yeah, I like some yellow labels, BUT not every book needs a sig. Why would someone deface a ASM #1 for example? Why would you get a random WD book signed (like issue #42)? Don't get me wrong, I have a few yellow labels, but just think not every book needs one.
  17. Yeah, you can snatch some deals (or overpay - of which I have done both). Ryan
  18. Couldn't agree more. But I think that's the point of it right, these stories are for adults who are looking for an adult read, not just us comic book hero lovers but also people who love a good story. I see it as the kind of comic I would recommend to someone who has American Psycho on their bookshelf but has never read a comic book in their life. Having said that a small girls throat getting sliced isnt everyone's cup of tea! Distasteful to say the least. I deleted this comic book from my Comixology account. It will never be a Walking Dead. At least with Walking Dead you cared about Rick and the other characters which can`t be said for the characters in Bedlam. I expect Bedlam to be a poor man`s Preacher at best. I don't know. At least this happened in the first issue so no one should be shocked at future points if more effed up stuff happens. Correct me if I'm wrong since it has been a while since I read the early issues of walking dead but I believe two of Hershel's daughters has their heads cut off and some travelers tried to rape Carl. Good rebuttal.
  19. I'm not hijacking this thread, but in another thread there's talk about Chew #1 losing steam. I have read most of the Chew series (I think I'm up to #20 or so), and I gotta say that I think Revival is a better storyline so far. Chew is entertaining, but I think Revival has more 'staying power' over the long haul. Just my comparing the two. Once again, I'm not a Chew hater (it's an entertaining read), but the Revival content is more of a premium grade IMHO. With that said, I think there is no reason Revival cannot achieve the level of success Chew has had (I guess that take me up to three cents, but there's no emoticon for that symbol). Ryan
  20. Ouch... cringe worthy. Sorry bro. I guess the rumors are true.
