  1. Lead bidder right now has 97% positive feedback on 33 transactions and 3 retractions over the last six months....looks like he/she ticked off three ebayers after jumping ship on previous steers...ahem, "wins"...
  2. It's a good story so far, I keep putting off reading #3 though.
  3. Agreed, they have the vehicle to move the books quickly and easily. I was reading and thinking that the people who really aren't thinking about what a pain it is to move 200 copies or even 25 sets, and who are paying under cover price but have higher cost basis than a dealer might also be included in the discussion because you were talking about people not realizing how many of these might be produced. But let's say they aren't blind to at least some of these obstacles then is there some reason that they would do this? It seems risky even to consider getting many slabbed because of the number of books that will be printed. I know that I'm not buying 25 sets because I'll waste more money promoting and shipping raw copies than I would put in my pocket at the end of the day even if I sold the incentive copy for more than I "paid"for it. Now I really don't know that much about the slabbed market so I was asking if those people have some plan to slab a few copies and dump the rest at whatever they feel like, or have some other plan, and have that pay off that way.
  4. What is the logic to buying 200 copies to sell the only copy that might be easy to sell in the future? Slabbed 9.8 variants out of the 200? With the vast amount of copies that will be printed even those will be prevalent but that's the only thing that I could come up with for wanting to do that. The vast amount of copies equates to a gale-force poo storm for small-time flippers. It seems that the only play to gain some value if you just want a copy of each is buy a 1:200 for under 300 and sell it right away during the initial hype and hope buy one or two later on for much less. Variant sets and chromiums will be littering the parking lots of comic shops across the nation, so no need to worry about those, and we'll have, what are we saying tentatively here, 500 to 1000 of these incentive copies floating around out there minimum.
  5. Is there a CSI thread here? I was told that the escrow service is the way to go for big money, although I don't know all of the ins and outs of it. The person talking to me about it was trying to describe that it was either better or worse to use an outside service vs. the one ebay/paypal provides, I can't remember what he said exactly. Do you guys know anything about that? (And I know "big money" is relative but many people would try to be as careful as possible with 10 or more stacks.)
  6. If I have something that's not moving on Ebay that maybe should be, a couple of things that I do is check to make sure the listing comes up in a basic search and sometimes I put a counter on it to see if people are at least looking at it. If neither of those things are happening I know I have to tweak the listing or something may be affecting the search ranking and I go from there. Also does anybody predict that a few more standard issues (and subsequently sketch variants) of Hardcore popping up in stores around the country on Wednesday? Obviously that will affect things either way for the moment. I managed to add a single standard copy to a midtown order late last week after forgetting to grab a couple early, we will see if I get it or not because I want to see if it is any good or not.
  7. OK well I wasn't thinking that badly of it, I guess I was tolerating looking at talking ostriches or whatever that thing was, and people with tv heads like nothing was the matter.
  8. i didn't think that I would like this book because I'm not that much into fantasy type stories but this story is well done so far. The art as mentioned is tolerable, and it took me a minute to adjust to the character's appearances, but looking forwards to #3.
