  1. Most TV or movie adaptations completely ruin things. I like how they've tried to keep it as close to the comics as they can. It would've been interesting to see the two kids from the comics get beheaded in the prison (forget the names or who's kids they were) on tv, but obviously that wouldn't get to air on AMC. It'll be interesting to see how they portray the governor vs. michonne, or if they even go down that road.

  2. If they were worried about the show 'slowing' down, I don't think they would've dragged the story of searching for Sophia for 7 episodes last season :pullhair:

There are so many new characters this year that have significant places in the comics. I don't see them having the governor as a character for only one season. He should till at least next season if they truly intend on capturing his comic book persona. Say they end season 4 similar to how issue 48 ends, that's basically 4 tv seasons and 48 comics. Not too bad. Plus they can eat up time with the Dixon brothers and other characters they introduce that aren't in the comics.

I agree I don't want them to move too fast but I think they've done a good job of slowing it down for the most part.

  3. $20 raw I think is a good cap for right now. We are still only 5 issues in. TOT jumped fast because of the TV announcements and the kirkman bump. I'd think a 300% increase on cover in 5 months is a decent jump for any book without some huge announcement of a movie/tv deal. I really want that RRP just because the cover is awesome. Now that prices seem to be in the mid 300 - low 400 range, i may pick one up soon.

Regardless of the prices, This is still my favorite read every month. Revival definitely got my interest though.

  4. No, it's the same guy. Its not tempting. Consider this:

he lives in Connecticut and when he listed it, he said he had all the issues 'pre-packaged' so he doesn't know what is what. He listed it on Thursday the start of SDCC. Which means he had to do all of the following:

    1. Go to SDCC

    2. Buy the SDCC sketch variant and run the SDCC escape on that Thursday immediately

    3. Bring his entire collection out to San Diego with him so he could 'pre-package' them so he didn't know what he was sending out.

If I met this guy, i'd kick him in the balls just for fun.

EDIT: His name is probably Negan. Go get him Branget!

EDIT 2: Look at his feedback. Someone was excited that they got #84 for $25.

  5. You send stuff to CGC from Austrailia? That's gotta up the cost per book by a bit!

Yup - but there are a few obliging boardies who offer a pick-up, pre-screen, pressing service plus transport to CGC..

So theres 20% off the fee as they get that discount.

I send in bulk to keep the postage down.

But yeah - I have to be quite on the ball with purchases as a mistake can be costly.....

How much does it cost you guys for each comic at CGC?

I live in FL so shipping there is slightly cheaper but cgc shipping back is standard regardless of where it's going so no savings there. Depends on how many I send in at a time. My last shipment in was 12 comics and came out to about 350 so about $30 per comic. Obviously sending in more would bring it down but i'm not in it to make big $. If I can pick up an extra copy or two and sell it to offset the cost of the copy I keep, then I'm happy.

EDIT: This is fast-track cost. I sent some in beginning of July non-fast tracked and i'm regretting it cause I don't think i'll be getting those back till mid-november.

Fair enough - I'm pretty much the same but would have to send say 10 of a good title to ensure the books I keep are paid for.

Thats if it all goes well..

Anyone want 30 Alpha Girl #1's??

The cost for me is postage plus $14.50 per book so seems about the same then really.

Thats why bulk postage is cheaper - especially here in Australia as USA post is frickin expensive!

    Which is cheaper?

Fed-Ex or USPS or are there any other types.

I am even exploring pre-paid or account postal options as its the post thats the killer.

Expensive, yet still losing 5 Billion per year. :insane:

Fed-Ex/UPS are usually close. Fed-Ex is usually cheaper to ship to a business. UPS usually cheaper to ship to a personal residence. At least in my experience.

EDIT: I just realized you said Fed-Ex or USPS, not UPS. USPS is way cheaper than Fed-Ex.

  7. I wish I had sent mine in to CGC with the other revival issues but I didn't get them in time. Should have some CGC 9.8's for sale on regular issue and the amazing conventions variant next week.

The 1:10 variants will have to wait till next submission.

  8. Lostpike said they had some of the regular issues left. Just the variants sold out.

And I'm sure yours are 8.0's, lol. I'll be getting my 9.8's back from CGC next week.

  9. Just picked up my SDCC copy! Now only one I dont have is the 1:10 Variant... Went into Tates and was told someone had just bought a stack of them less then 20 minutes before I walked in the door. :(

Dang. I was headed to Tates this weekend to look for some.
