  1. I'll be surprised if it gets a second season. A sensible statement based on, based on, based on what? pessimism
  2. i'm so far behind now its rediculous...i need a marathon catch up
  3. very nice work, i don't like drawing those type of pictures much as it's very "exact", not much room for happy little errors (Bob Ross)
  4. shouldn't have gotten rid of Jol only sacking that seems to have worked out is Poyet
  5. Laudrup with the sack? seems abit harsh results have been poor but he won them a trophy, he deserves more time that's what happens when you sign Jonjo Shelvey though, god i hate him
  6. Sunderland have been great since Di Canio left
  7. +1 also love that Bernie Speedy, it's as awesome as you'd expect i bought a print from Duncan Fegredo and he sent me a signed sketch on a post-it, a signed Hellboy comic and a signed flyer great start to the day
  8. I think as fans of the source material, we're all guilty of casting these movies the same way Wizard magazine used to do it back in the early 90's. Bryan Cranston seemed to be the consensus pick, probably because he just got done playing a bald, ruthless character. But if Breaking Bad never existed, would people be clamoring for the dad from Malcolm in the Middle to get the role? In this era of top notch make up and special effects, looking like the comic character isn't that important anymore. I'm more concerned with the -script being good, because even the best actors out there can polish a turd only so much. Truth be told, I wish Hollywood would cast relative unknowns in these roles, so the Holden Caulfield in me wouldn't get hung up on the fact that Van Wilder is supposed to be Hal Jordan. truth i think people forget that shaving your head is a pretty easy look to accomplish they obviously impressed in their auditions
  9. Tell that to Hollywood. -slym lets hope they don't go with the logic that "more=better" Spiderman 3
  10. i dont think we need 2 villains, i think the introduction of Batman/WW will take up some time, then Superman and Batman fight then join up to defeat Lex
  11. Jeremy Irons is terrific casting for Alfred Eisenberg is one that no one would have predicted but hopefully they chose the right man for the job
  12. if only... could be a shoe in for the porn parody that will certainly follow
  13. There could easily be a Lantern alter ego in it though, or some passing reference to set up future movies. maybe have them without the powers for now Yeah, exactly. Although John Stewart isn't much of a public figure, right? re-cast Hal? surely they can work Ferris into it? Christina Wren played Ferris in Man of Steel. How that leads to Hal Jordan appearing remains to be seen in future movies. she was Carrie Farris, not Carol Ferris

  16. i dont think a Lantern will be in it, i think they'll stick to the Trinity for this film, wouldn't be surprised if they announced a Green Lantern film though

  18. This is a very slippery slope as it would be very difficult to prove the movie was not based more on the later comics adaptations with the changes as it is very loosely adapted from the book. Unfortunately this would also lead to not including series like Buffy, Angel, the Phantom, and others due to the comic being adapted directly from a TV series/book and not the other way around. Are comics being the original source material a hard rule? The list might be easier to maintain and add to if it was broken down by year, here is a website that includes comic book movies/series/serials by year with distributor. CLICK ME I understand completely where you are coming from. Conan is a good example where the movies came out while Marvel was publishing the comic books. But when I read the history of how the Conan movies came about, it appears Oliver Stone rejected the comic-based -script and went with his own. Then later, Milius tore apart Stone's version and kept only certain parts. While on the other hand, Red Sonja was based on the Marvel Comics character which was influenced by Robert E. Howard's Red Sonya of Rogatino from the "The Shadow of the Vulture" short story. But I can add John Carter, Tarzan and others that were a combination of novels, comic books and films if everyone wants that. No worries at all. that'd be a different list of comics based on books/tv/film
  19. Good catch on Oldboy (2003). I just read the summary, and how it was part of a trilogy though only Oldboy is listed as manga-based. With John Carter, its influence didn't come from the comic books, but rather from the original source material. It is based on A Princess of Mars, the first book in the Barsoom series of novels by Edgar Rice Burroughs. That was my reason for not including it, though I really liked this movie. haven't seen John Carter yet but have it ready to go, i hear good things despite the poor box office its the sequel to Coach Carter?
