  1. I agree George - there has been that hesitation in Saga raws to go past $20. When they do, $40 could be hit quite quickly. As you say $10 raw v $100 9.8 is a good op to get some cash back.
  2. Zombie sheeps. Wicked. You not seen the film "Black Sheep" then? Actual.Zombie.Mankilling.Sheep. Its from New Zealand I thnk. The irony...
  3. I think its the fact that the comic inspires people to post comments about how they feel is what makes TWD so great. I felt sickened by Glenns death - its like I had 'known' him for quite a while, and if a comic can do that, then its a very, very good story. And will ensure its popularity for decades to come. When it finishes, any first print edition will be $100 at least. When Rick finally eats it - that will be almost as big as #1 and bigger than #19 and #27. Good Luck to anyone finding some at cover in Brangets neck of the woods!
  4. Its ongoing George - 3 covers for #1 and thats it. 2nd print run due in 2 weeks.
  5. Yup - but there are a few obliging boardies who offer a pick-up, pre-screen, pressing service plus transport to CGC.. So theres 20% off the fee as they get that discount. I send in bulk to keep the postage down. But yeah - I have to be quite on the ball with purchases as a mistake can be costly..... How much does it cost you guys for each comic at CGC? I live in FL so shipping there is slightly cheaper but cgc shipping back is standard regardless of where it's going so no savings there. Depends on how many I send in at a time. My last shipment in was 12 comics and came out to about 350 so about $30 per comic. Obviously sending in more would bring it down but i'm not in it to make big $. If I can pick up an extra copy or two and sell it to offset the cost of the copy I keep, then I'm happy. EDIT: This is fast-track cost. I sent some in beginning of July non-fast tracked and i'm regretting it cause I don't think i'll be getting those back till mid-november. Fair enough - I'm pretty much the same but would have to send say 10 of a good title to ensure the books I keep are paid for. Thats if it all goes well.. Anyone want 30 Alpha Girl #1's?? The cost for me is postage plus $14.50 per book so seems about the same then really. Thats why bulk postage is cheaper - especially here in Australia as USA post is frickin expensive! Which is cheaper? Fed-Ex or USPS or are there any other types. I am even exploring pre-paid or account postal options as its the post thats the killer.

  7. So would I Krighton. I was lucky enough to get 23 #1's and 3 1:10 variants. Most will be off to CGC shortly. I hope then my LCS had snagged a couple extra by pure luck...
  8. So this is now officially getting warm... http://www.ebay.com/itm/REVIVAL-1-Craig-Thompson-variant-rural-noir-horror-Image-Comics-/140798723773?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item20c84206bd http://www.ebay.com/itm/REVIVAL-1-SIGNED-by-TIM-SEELEY-MIKE-NORTON-1st-PRINT-CRAIG-THOMPSON-Cover-/290743128512?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item43b1a411c0 2nd one is signed obviously but $40 for a 1:10 variant 2 weeks after release is a good sign this is a keeper for a bit...
  9. Since I opened this latest spat - I feel I can close it. Never met or PM'd Branget but he took time to honestly answer a question from a stranger. Makes him alright in my book. For now....
  10. Can I be the 4th? Oh go on..if you must, you must. Apparently it's all to do with the water in my toilet spinning backwards or something. I don't know. I do know not to call Branget, Bragnet as a lot of people seemed to find it funny. As you now know, it's true; actual sales mean everything, somebody's asking price means next to nothing. No patronising here. That "completed listing" checkbox on the advanced search for eBay, is a godsend. This has nothing to do with you being Australian or using Aussie dollars, and especially nothing to do with your toilet water's direction while being flushed. Stick around, my friend, but lose that accent, I can barely understand you. Andy I think I shall Mr Thirdgreenham, I think I shall. Yup - lots to learn here for me - and I have to confess I do enjoy the sarcastic banter going around. Now back to the riddle of my revolving toilet water.
  11. Well this guy has no problem holding out for what he wants - Its Comicnation again. He's got balls,I'll give him that. Is it one of you guys? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Walking-Dead-Dream-Set-1-CGC-Signed-19-75-100-/150858438137?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item231fdd15f9

  13. Bragnet, a serious question if I may: You have an awesome, and I mean awesome set of TWD and Chew. Unbelieveable jealous! Do you scour the new releases and take a punt on something being a hit at the time of release - I mean, if so you have been sitting on those TWD #1's for nearly 10 years - or do you sniff a potential series/film in the wind and buy up big then. I doubt if its luck - in fact I'm sure its not so which is it. Please tell me you have 200 Rebel Bloods you will have to shift....... Seriously impressed with the way you do things. I bought my 1st Walking Dead comic as a run of 1-51 for $150 about 3 years ago. I had a 2 month old at the time (my eldest daughter) and read it straight through. I was physically ill after reading 48 and threw it across the room. Still own the ungraded copy. I remember commenting to Steve (Evilash) that I would never read another book by Kirkman. He commented that Kirkman must be talented to stir up so much emotion. Light went on. Darabount was rumored as being the possible Director about that time. Another light went on. I bought multiple copies for $50-100. I was selling them for a couple of months for $200-250. Some castings were announced for the show. More lights went on. I bought every available copy of WD 1 available for a 6 month span. You couldn't buy a copy online or in the GTA unless you beat me to a Buy it Now. I cringed the 1st time I spent over $100 for a copy, hestitated too much when copies were selling for $200 and refused to buy for a few weeks when raws broke $300. I eventually stopped hesitating. Failures at that time include also jumping on every issue of "Crossed" and not stopping buying 30+ monthly issues of ASM and UXM fast enough. Buy what you like and deal what you buy. I keep the number of titles low and go all in. That seems to be the key point. So I assume Chew,Y - The Last Man, TWD and Saga were your recent must haves - Peter Panzerfaust and Revival next maybe? Any others that bombed Branget, just to show you are human after all? Being in Australia there is no 'equal playing field' as I have mentioned before - this is really bleak down here so to get my whole 20 copies of Revival (wow,I know a whole 20..) I had to pre-order them. No orders for extra copies can or will be made from every LCS here in Melbourne that I've contacted - its a one-shot deal, so I would have to make a pre-order of say 200 at a go to purchase a good number of 9.8's. Its then cover price + GST so each comic costs $5 to get to me. 1K for a hunch is a big risk. However if I was sat on 200 TWD, Chew,PP or Saga #1's etc I would be feeling pretty happy right now. Grading, even using some very generous people in the states, is a slow and expensive process. Shipping,pre-screen and potentially press some, cost of grading and return postage all have to be factored in to the equation still. Still if it was easy, we would all be doing as well as you! Thanks for the advice Branget, much appreciated.

  15. Dear Lord Branget - my humble apologies.. Now,where were we......
