  1. Still love the comic and I think it is the best thing to spread the love of TWD. I started buying 3 per month, 1 reader and 2 that are stored. I leave the reader when I have finished in the staff room at work. Always get read by a bunch of people, some of whom have gone on to become regular buyers. I ignore variants usually but bought the 'common' variants for #100 just because I liked the different covers. I think the 'Ghost' cover rocks, and will happily get that as I like it. But pay $200+ for some other type - not for me. I get why some do, but I'm happy with ordinary unless a really awesome variant cover is released. Andy
  2. Who are you - Robocop? Theres no help needed here.Maybe some additional skin to help with thickness but thats all. The Modern Forum rules man! :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: (thumbs u
  3. Wow! I have a dozen of these. lucky you didn't listen to the people that said these store editions never amount to anything. Who said that?
  4. I take exception to the notion that my posts have ever been unreasonable ... people may disagree with my opinions, but that is the nature of the world. More importantly, can we talk about the Walking Dead and not about me? Please? Pretty please with sugar on top? Thats quite unreasonable.
  5. if you knew the you would know that posting completed auctions is okay. it is against the to link to your own auctions to try to "advertise" your wares outside of the dealer-ebay forum Fair enough.
  6. Fair play for sticking to your guns George. Cut Nico some slack, his recent posts have been quite reasonable. (thumbs u However are still and auctions, wether closed, opened or in galleries should stay in their respective forums
  7. Yeah - its a visual metaphore of Carls transformation from boy to man. When this arc finishes in #103 after Ricks death the story moves on 6 years.
  8. Just regular covers at Midtown last time I looked. If they do one,I would image it would be of "Madder Red" on a killing spree.
  9. I may be able to get 6 or so (limit not imposed as yet) but am not going for 10hrs (after work). Happy to get anyone a copy but shipping from Australia ain't cheap ($12ish). However I can make sure you get a decent copy. PM me if you want me to grab an extra for you.
  10. Fair point - but I'm not arguing with anyone.(I'm now being slack at work!),just adding to a thread. no-ones arguing here!
  11. Sorry mate - high as in high quantities for me. 30 copies is a lot for me to speculate on. As for revival - yes,my decision is to hold at this moment, not due to greed but the fact that 30 copies (and don't forget I haven't got them back yet) arrive on ebay along with anyone elses then the price drops. Simple. I would much rather wait for the initial 'dump and run' to dissipate and then see where the comic is at. I don't think this is a short term comic and as such am prepared to wait. As for comments - thats about pre-ordering at discount. The comic is selling out. 2nd + 3rd runs will eventuate, so hopefully there is a long term future for this book. Maybe because I'm also getting ready for work at the same time, that this is a jumbled post!
  12. Tut,Tut Jeff - "I would sell them now" is like God delivering a commandment to some. You know you carry considerable clout in this forum mate - a lot of people look up to you for advise. This was never the time to sell a growing book - before #2... Sure If #2 and #3 were atrocious, then perhaps, but you kinda were suggesting for people to dump and run for a small mark up. Do you think anyone would buy up all those #1 for $12- $15 Jeff? I could think of one or two... Anyhow, once BeachBums bombshell billows across the net,I think a bright future ala ToT at least beckons. I still like the book regardless and think there is more stable value to come in the next 6 months or so. (thumbs u
  13. Oh I did. Trouble is with Branget - who I still respect - is that all this "info" is all to his own end. I agree that if you buy 100 x every #1 you will be up the creek. If you look, watch and wait with MODERNS you can: 1) Evaluate the writer and artist and how they are liked by the comic buyers 2) The estimated print run but 3) most importantly - if YOU like it. If you think its a great book, chances are a lot of other peeps will too. Sell all after #2 has been out 2 days - wtf would you? I knew nothing about a TV show - I read the premis, liked it,bought up 30+ copies and slabbed them (however when that finishes god knows - Joey has them and CGC is wayyy slow atm). Like someone said - I'm in $70 for raws.Total. I chose to make the decision to CGC on the basis on the FEEDBACK of people who had READ the comic and loved it. They tell their friends etc etc. This book will be great until the story stops being great. The best time to sell is when you detect the standard of the book dropping. My only unrecoupable loss is Dancer (all 8 copies..). My only high (for me 30+ purchases) are Saga,Peter Panzerfaust, The Walking Dead, Irredeemable Antman (at less than $1 each) and now Revival. My only other spec is Bedlam - I have ordered 50 copies and I'm in for all of $75. This thread has become a who-can-wee-higher-contest and its getting a bit tedious. Krighton,HugeRosen,Me,Branget,Miso et al all have our own thoughts on the subject of Moderns and Branget has done brilliantly well on the back of 2 books. Well done to you Jeff, but if revival is a 3rd, let others enjoy being right as well as you without the market manipulatory comments. Oh well - back to the thread about a comic with 2 published issues and 1500 posts on it. (thumbs u
  14. Put my order in 50% off is too good to turn down...
  15. Or wait and see the comic sustain its impetus for 6 months with succesful issues #2 - #6. By then anyone who wants one will have bought early, leaving new readers to want CGC #1's later on.... i'll be 'honest' and say i'm waiting, no sense blowing out the few copies i have this early. Even with Sagas huge print run raws have steadily creeped upwards. Of course - anyone with half a brain is. Why flood when you can dripfeed...let the comic grow and the demand will be there. Only people with a vested interest would get the 'fish' to dump cheap now...

  17. Cool photo. That's a B-17G behind the crew. If you think its a prop - would it be the pic in the last shot as the 'real crew' of the Memphis belle?
  18. Branget in selling manipulation shock...
  19. Note our friendly 8 feedback buyer bids on this sellers items nearly 90% of the time http://offer.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBidderProfile&mode=1&item=251107254367&aid=a***a&eu=LWOMYiHVslcevasO1YaHgxKQU%2FN2cvDJ&view=NONE&ssPageName=PageBidderProfileViewBids_None_ViewLink Member id derekandmarelinesawesomestore is using shill bids - no doubt as its our same dummy buyer from a thread in Comic General Is this a boardie?
  20. As for the charity - nice idea! However for a tax-write off the donation has to be in the winners name. If its to Moore and Kirkman, only they can claim. Thats how it is here anyway.
  21. I saw that earlier and was going to post. Something odd there about 2 dif buyers bidding in minimum amounts, especially as one has large vol feedbacks. Was at 77 bids last i looked.
  22. OMG NEW SERIES ON FOX!!! I CANT WAIT!!! I heard Joss Whedon to direct! Nathan Fillion is going to be in it also!
  23. Very good guess and the closest. PM me and i'll send you a free copy. :golfclap:
  24. Damn time zones....what was the winning bid? Someones going to come here after 6 hours away and see 121 new posts on Revival and assume theres a new series out next month on Fox!
