  1. Now this looks a cracker! Great story premis - ongoing series - established writer and artist. This is my tip for the last biggie of the year. Out on Hallow'een.
  2. Yup,but its still selling, and selling well, especially in either raw or cgc 9.8
  3. Man are we all busted if this goes bad....
  4. Oooohhhh. Moderns are dragging the Silver Age folk over now..reckon we might be on to something here boys?
  5. Hey Branget - give Southlands a go. Best damn cop show ever (not including The Shield of course)
  6. I agree re costs. What about The Red Star and R v Z for you Branget - any thoughts?
  7. Fair comments - though I have to say you should not beat yourself up about MTG. The writer and artist didn't help much with their work ethic really did they? I think that for myself, I have to be 100% sure in my own mind that any comic I am going to speculate on must have a period of interest to the general public for at least 6 - 12 months, or be backed up by solid TV/Film interest. We both agree,if I remember correctly that we think Saga, Peter Panzerfaust,Poyo 1-shots and Revival are going to be steady risers for the immediate future, maybe longer if the comics continue to be of a high standard. The BBC TV series has,of course, guaranteed interest in PP until it is on TV. My "sleepers", if you will, are "The Red Star" as the movie sounds bloooody awesome and Robots V Zombies as there are 2 movies in production based on this story. Unfortunately I am unable to find many #1 copies - the print run wasn't big IIRC. Any others on your horizon?
  8. Trouble is HR - if you are going to flip this quick, the extra $10 is a big addition. The variant is going for $40, but by the time you have bought the comic,fast-tracked, included postage and listing fees, its going to take that $40 to break even. For me (and me only - I would not dare presume to speak for you) - I am happy to wait, minimise costs and pray #2 - #4 are rippers and then list my 9.8 slabs accordingly. Assuming they come back 9.8!
  9. Cheers mate - had misread that!
  10. Fast tracked? If not, November is probably a fast estimate considering how behind cgc is. I sent some Saga #1's in non-fast tracked beginning of July. I'm expecting those sometime in October I hope. The new Image titles lately have been very quick to jump, then they fade, then seem to find a settling place. Saga is the only one that I've seen lately that's had a constant sustained increase in price since release and even that has moved around a bit. Mind the Gap is all over the place and is at a low point IMO due to the printing nonsense. Hopefully next week when that awesome variant cover comes out, some interest will peak again. Who knows. Hopefully they hold value cause I also have 30+ issues They are being walked in and I will be told the wait period for each method then. October for fast-track - sheeite! These guys need another office - yesterday.
  11. Got 30 on way to CGC as we speak. As Branget says - 'if in,go all in". I wonder what the market will be like in November.....
  12. Try #2 #4 eluded me for a long time but not a problem anymore. 80 is a pain. Not for all of us....
  13. http://dailydead.com/interview-glen-mazzara-norman-reedus-and-gale-anne-hurd-talk-the-walking-dead-season-3/ Ooooooooooh...sounds awesome!
  14. Thats what I love about you Branget - your sense of compassion and love for your fellow man...
  15. Got my 9.8 CGC today - It looks awesome. Gone into the "keepers" box.
  16. midtown now only 1 per customer apparently. My extra 20 are now in doubt...grrrr
  17. Well first print Chew #1 is rock-steady at $600 - $700 so theres your starting point.
  18. I agree George - there has been that hesitation in Saga raws to go past $20. When they do, $40 could be hit quite quickly. As you say $10 raw v $100 9.8 is a good op to get some cash back.
  19. Zombie sheeps. Wicked. You not seen the film "Black Sheep" then? Actual.Zombie.Mankilling.Sheep. Its from New Zealand I thnk. The irony...
  20. I think its the fact that the comic inspires people to post comments about how they feel is what makes TWD so great. I felt sickened by Glenns death - its like I had 'known' him for quite a while, and if a comic can do that, then its a very, very good story. And will ensure its popularity for decades to come. When it finishes, any first print edition will be $100 at least. When Rick finally eats it - that will be almost as big as #1 and bigger than #19 and #27. Good Luck to anyone finding some at cover in Brangets neck of the woods!
  21. Its ongoing George - 3 covers for #1 and thats it. 2nd print run due in 2 weeks.
  22. Yup - but there are a few obliging boardies who offer a pick-up, pre-screen, pressing service plus transport to CGC.. So theres 20% off the fee as they get that discount. I send in bulk to keep the postage down. But yeah - I have to be quite on the ball with purchases as a mistake can be costly..... How much does it cost you guys for each comic at CGC? I live in FL so shipping there is slightly cheaper but cgc shipping back is standard regardless of where it's going so no savings there. Depends on how many I send in at a time. My last shipment in was 12 comics and came out to about 350 so about $30 per comic. Obviously sending in more would bring it down but i'm not in it to make big $. If I can pick up an extra copy or two and sell it to offset the cost of the copy I keep, then I'm happy. EDIT: This is fast-track cost. I sent some in beginning of July non-fast tracked and i'm regretting it cause I don't think i'll be getting those back till mid-november. Fair enough - I'm pretty much the same but would have to send say 10 of a good title to ensure the books I keep are paid for. Thats if it all goes well.. Anyone want 30 Alpha Girl #1's?? The cost for me is postage plus $14.50 per book so seems about the same then really. Thats why bulk postage is cheaper - especially here in Australia as USA post is frickin expensive! Which is cheaper? Fed-Ex or USPS or are there any other types. I am even exploring pre-paid or account postal options as its the post thats the killer.
