  1. Hey JIm, The Last Charge is one of 12 Fleetwood War Library books from the 1960's\1970's The Human Torch - 1 of 2 1975 Aussie reprints These 2 are the most unique, I think.
  2. The Death of little Bras Domingos - issue #5 of Daytripper Short section of story. Bloody book gets me everytime.
  3. $95 USD 8 Marvels, Hulk, Thor, 4 Archies, 12 Aussie Disneys (good condition), Gladstone and Whitman Disneys Some cool Australian GA/SA reprints, War books, couple of Annuals, Gold Key Korak , Phantoms in the #400's plus 2 really cool UK and Aussie variants. Decent find after a dry spell of 'Glamour' books and paying nearly market for drek.... It's getting really hard to find stuff, and after Xmas is usually my peak buying time. Going to be a long year.................
  4. Bloody hard to find that game in the home of the Phantom (Australia) so epic find in the USA - and complete. Kudos to you sir, great find
  5. I must have been the exception. Tried to watch on Foxtel last night and turned off after 30 mins. Found it a truly boring movie. Glad others liked it - I just found it unfunny, boring and uninteresting. Don't get the love tbh
  6. If we are going with Eisner (Lou Fine did the cover) - I really like the 'period' look - and it was a steal - sold a 3.0 and bought this raw with the proceeds. Looks nice on the wall.
  7. In a nutshell exactly how I felt. Ep #3 and #8 were the best - probably due to more fighting. Too many time jumps for an 8 ep season, too much talking. Yenns boobs were fine the 1st time, after the next couple of times it was getting really tedious. Boobs and the F bomb do not an MA15 series make - either go all in or leave out the annoying ultra soft porn 'orgy', rubbish sex scenes and F bombs. Witcher needed to have either more eps, or less time jumping to cram stuff in. It would have been better as a full R rated show IMHO with much more fighting. Ultimately, what suffered most was character development - I could not have cared less who did, and didn't die. I won't be rushing to watch season 2.
  8. Nowhere in my post did I suggest only 2000 copies survived. I merely commented on blue labelled copies. Please do not presume to infer things I did not write. It does you a disservice.
  9. One other thing - all this talk of AF #15 being common - the actual number of blue labelled books stands at 2059. And I guarantee that 95% of people re-subbing did not hand in their label, but kept it for 'insurance'. So if we say 25% resubbed - then that 2059 drops to 1520. A few other Silver Books - Jim #83 =1400 Blue label, DD = 3528, Avengers #1 = 2907 FF #1 = 1538 Just my humble
  10. Check for the 'Peters' Ice-Cream Variant. I've found 2 in thrift stores - has a completely different ending to the USA issue, and worth a fair few $$ in High-grade. Highly likely to be in an Aussie collection (even if they were UK mostly)
  11. And yet, most grades are showing as being close to, equal or significantly higher than the 2018 averages. I'd say the book has stabilised - for now. 2020 - who knows?
  12. Throw in Transmetropolitain, Daytripper Scalped and 100 Bullets and thats as good a cross-section as you could imagine. Some damn good reads there.
  13. You no doubt have recieved lots of private messages from people offering to help. My advice would be to choose a respected dealer who is active on here and is close enough to wherever you live to remain involved in the selling process. After you choose said person, let them guide you. If I were you I would expect that person to tell you: 1) Which books should go to CGC and on to auction (not ebay) and how to obtain the best selling price (pressing, private contacts, want to buy lists from clients) 2) Which books should go to CGC and the dealer would sell them on consignment for you (and retain a %) - and where they will sell them (own website, conventions, ebay) 3) Which books are not worth grading and you should seek a buyer to purchase them all in bulk. Prepare yourself that a significant % of your books are filler and could possibly be worth only a couple of $$ each. Unless you want to ebay them yourself, take a bulk offer to save the hassle. The dealer might even do that, especially if you consign some nice books with a fair commission % to them. That should optimise the value of the 'major keys', provide the dealer incentive to sell your minor keys, and rid you of the rest in one transaction. You just need to find the right dealer. Most will do the very best for you, one or two will seek to exploit your lack of knowledge - if I were you, I would ignore the Private Messages, the number of posts people have made, and spend some time in the selling section of the boards to see who consistently sells books quickly without frequent % drops. Those who consistently sell quickly do so because the price fairly and have a great reputation. Choose your own path, and choose it wisely and slowly. You have plenty of time, and no need to rush to a decision, so send your list to a couple of dealers, see who you feel comfortable with, and go from there. I would not consider an offer for all the books in one hit, but would divide them as suggested above. Good luck, and sorry you got these books in tragic circumstances.
  14. In celebration of Melbourne just hitting 46c (115 F ) - let's see your Sun/Heat/Fire covers!
  15. What condition is the book in now? You have pics of 2 different holders. I assume the top is current - just asking for clarification of how the book looks at this minute. The top one has clearly had the spine rolled (no doubt during a press) so I'm not sure how some of the other pics are relevant as they were taken when the book was in a previous holder. Thanks
  16. Don't do it at work if you want to keep your job!
  17. Please tell me you didn't have some Druuna pages.......
  18. Says the guy who works his butt off to save up for a couple of major key books every year. Most of us wish out collections were a third as nice as yours Dave. Plus who else could win boardie of the year and get a strike with in a week of winning it!! 'Got any Caps Dave?'
  19. Absolutely realistic about my chances.... I would love some PAOLO ELEUTERI SERPIERI O/A from Druuna - preferably one of the 'stronger' pieces of O/A from 'Creatura' or 'Carnivore' - in colour. Wildest dreams would be colour O/A from Druuna X or Drunna X2. Top of the list - the 'hanging' panels from 'Mandragore' (as if they will ever come up for sale!) However, seeing as they have sold for 5-10,000 euro's ( and then some) and tightly coveted, I am somewhat pessimistic about my chances. However 2020 may be my year. If anyone is holding some.......... I would consider a commission as well of course!
  20. That's a really fair price looking at recent sales v the quality of this book. Surprised it's still here.
  21. as per very generous PM terms - Thanks Dan! Woo! Got me a Don and Maggie Key!
  22. Dunno - saw it on GPA. There are a heck of a lot more in the $1600 range than ever - I can see that being the 90 day ave very soon. I freely admit - I sold off all 5 of my copies a couple of years back, and am looking to grab one next year. I was expecting, as probably were you, the book to be $1750 - $1800 in 9.8 If it carries on falling, then I'd be looking to grab a couple. Probably the most worrying thing for those holding a bunch is that there is a new show, and the current season still has a half to go - it's usually at the end of a season that the book drops. Still - $900 - Who saw that coming? I certainly didn't
