  1. Speaking of *best of*... Series In order of my preferences: TNG - Best Crew + stories. A very honourable mention to 'The Inner Light' - I cried shamelessly at the end of a wonderful story. Voyager - close one - but Seven and The Holodoc just tipped Captain Janeway's crew into 2nd place above Kirk - once Neelix and Kez were replaced by Seven, it was a different beast. - Honorable mention to 'Macrocosm' for showing us the true Janeway. It was a hard watch at times with too much holodeck rubbish (DaVinci etc) and Kez became very tedious very quickly. TOS - Cheesy, corny, bad sets, bad acting - but compulsory viewing back then. Major cameos (Joan Collins etc), and an very underrated social narrative that addressed Communism, Nazis, Overpopulation, Slavery and racism, in its own crazy, crazy way. Special Mention to 'Platos Stepchildren' for *that* kiss. A very , very honourable mention to 'Little Kirk' who always managed to find some trouser-escaping action despite whatever the Galaxy threw at Kirk! Discovery - Some episodes were right up there with the best ever, but the show was continually dragged down by overplaying societal 'issues' as storylines. The image of the crew was enough. We saw the multi-culture, the openly gay characters, disfigured crew, obese crew - and didn't mind at all. To then make whole episodes about the characters sexual preferences, scars and weight was overkill. It worked as it was, without emphasis - to hit us with a hammer about it was too much. Special mention for 'The Red Angel' arc. Supreme suspenseful story. DS9 - I tried to love it. I really did. I found it hard to like it by Season 3, and by then too much damage was done. I hated Quark, Bajorian rebels and that bloody Doctor. Sisko was wet as the ocean, Kira needed a good slap and Dax was....hot? By the time the really good stuff came about - The White / Jem'Hadar / Dominion / Defiant - I'd ceased caring. The Dominion arc was the highlight. Enterprise - Terrible acting, poor scripts and lack of suspense had this struggling from The Get-Go. Scott Bakula was a terrible choice as Captain, whilst it was hard to believe Dominic Keating had ever acted before. It was frequently boring - which is the worst thing you can say about a sci-fi show set in space in a world-class franchise. Special mention for 'Regeneration' -and that was only due to The Borg, and 'A Night In Sickbay' due to Linda Park and Jolene Blalock spending most of it in their undies. Yup, the show was that bad. Strange New Worlds is not streaming in Australia currently. Picard is not finished so was not considered as a series. However.... Best Episode - Yup - Picard - 'Vox'. Best Movie - 'First Contact' Please add your own choices guys!
  2. Watched it again. Just as good, if not better, 2nd time about. Watched " Best Of Both Worlds 1 + 2" as well. Classic stuff
  3. Online chat. "Please report this via phone" Now? 'Yes" It says I cannot be connected. "Yes, customer service do not operate on saturday or Sunday" How can I call them? "Call the number Sir" But they are closed "Correct" I have reported it - to you Abdul? "Abdul has left the chat................." What a bunch of wankers
  4. Heads up - ebay Australia is absolutely rooted AGAIN. Stores get the worst of it again as combined postage, accept offers and messaging systems crash and burn. Customer service have turned the phones off (I kid you not) Sick of it - and when you do get through - no mea culpa, nothing. Now I know why I sold nothing for the last 3 days. They do not give a cane-toads slime-gland about store holders. Where oh where is any competition for this shitty company
  5. Glad you guys loved it as much as I did. I hope: Shaws is not gone (Genesis II anyone - they have it from Daystrom remember) and is the next Enterprise Captain RE: Jack - I suspect he will not be curable - Picards son as main villain for the new ST show would be cool The new Voyager / Enterprise hybrid they showed leaving Sol 1 Spacedock will be the new ship Seven will be the 'Tactical' on board the new vessel - which will reprise TNG with new stories and crew (+ Hopefully Shaw and Seven) I hope they don't blow it in the last episode - I think a lot of permanent 'deaths' will occur, and we're going to need a heap of tissues. Great great season. Loved it.
  6. NCC-1701-D If this wasn't the greatest episode of Star Trek ever made - it would have to be damn close. Turns out.... Brilliant, simply brilliant episode. 10/10
  7. The guy is ALWAYS right in soo many threads. You should be grateful he spared the time to school us in this one. He mingles with billionaires you know, he told me in a thread to validate his opinion. He didn't say how diverse they were though.........
  8. If you have to ask a bunch of strangers - I'd say no. The book is dropping like a Ms Marvel movie.
  9. That is without doubt the worst trailer I have ever seen. This will bomb. A win a razzie. But at least it's got diversity going for it. Yay.
  10. Seems Amazon is letting Aussies watch this week. 2 questions: Why whenever a Federation Starship is boarded, is the crew utterly useless? Was Marina Sirtis actually drunk during filming? Great bits:
  11. 100% agree Cool Cat. How many times is that now for Superman and Batman? This look like one of those 'Family Favorite' movies you struggle through on Xmas day, when you just want a kip. Hey Cat - which AFL mob is yours?
  12. The Hardest of Hard passes. Literally saw every scene in a previous movie. Dreadful
  13. On an act of breathtaking hubris - Amazon has made episode 7 available only as a 'buy' option in Australia - the first 6 were included with Prime. Thats pretty much me done with amazon for good. Absurd
  14. I stopped at Ep 5 It became another Walking Dead. Human v Human with the usual SW messages. Booooring. What a waste.
  15. In addition to slow sales (probably $150 max in the last 3 days) - sellers are becoming more and more detached from reality. I think 'overpayment syndrome' should be a recognised illness - I run ads looking for collections and all the replies this year have had ludicrous $$$ amounts attached to them. It's getting to the stage where buyers want really good deals = 25% off and collection sellers are still seeking 2021 prices. The gap isn't closing and when it does the market will be saturated. Great news for collectors - but not if you bought in the last 3-4 years. I sell on the ground floor - and even this area is getting wiped out due to lack of buyers. There is a mighty big crash coming outside of Blue-Chip books - even those will take more of a hit. Sellers like me just have to ride it out, wait for it to settle and adjust my buying and selling prices accordingly. I used to happily drop 4 figures on a book I wanted, sometimes 5, knowing they were blue chip and a safe bet. Not anymore. I'll be waiting for a bit to see where we settle. The Australian market is dead.
  16. This is the slowest week / month / year for the last 10. Selling $250 PW instead of my usual $600 - $750 Might be due to all those F-35B flying overhead (no joke - 6 flights of 2 x F35-B have left Victorian base heading North this morning along with Armour / Artillery on Trains) - Somethings up.
  17. What a trip! There's a remake right there........ lets hope that this is where the show is going - put 2 of those together = instant reboot on current timeline. Genius! (see in spoilers) Aaand..... the gang is back together again.
  18. Just pay Karl Urban what he wants and get the next damn film made. Dredd is the greatest anti-hero ever created - deserves a run of decent movies. R rated - and let audiences vote with their wallets.
  19. Ensign Ro in the House! Anyone else getting the feeling the JC's 'visions' look awfully like the dungeon where a creature had to 'go through the door' to escape in another ST series? And I don't trust the USS Titan Doc at all...just sayin'
  20. I know it's Star Trek...but is that even possible? Maybe they have formed an unassimilatable alliance that will carry forward to another show - like Wolf 359 opening the DS9 series? Be a great segue into a Capatain Shaw led series.....
  21. Revival #1 Y-The Last Man #1 Sixth Gun #1
  22. If I take anything out of this excellent season - it's that Captain Shaw cannot be killed off. Too good a character, he should go into another show - even his own. Todd Stashwick is excellent.
