  1. eBay Sales - last 90 days by price You can call it speculation, whatever, but what comic book isn't? They're just comic books fergawdsake.
  2. What are they buying? Bad speculation, everybody trying to beat the price inflation. You should embrace it. In fact you should embrace every high dollar Bronze Age sale. (thumbs u
  3. That is kind of funny. I guess they didn't tell Bogdanove that they were going to have the covering torn off in the build-up panels in the other titles. The covering wasn't torn in MoS 17. The picture is right here, like two posts up! There's no argument whatsoever that ALL FOUR OF THESE ISSUES came out before MOS 18, you are a scream fine sir.
  4. The last (cameo) pages of Superman: The Man of Steel #17, Superman #73, Adventures of Superman #496 and Action Comics #683. Nicely done, btw, Brandon. (thumbs u
  5. and back to the storage locker i go. I think I gave away my copy as a freebie . . .
  6. It really SHOULDN'T even if it has. If there were only one singular cameo I'd agree with the fervor to collect the 'first cameo' appearance....but seeing there are multiple "cameos" it devalues, dillutes and confuses the value IMO. That said, there's only one true first "full appearance" and that's MOS 18....and it's easy to make that determination. Yes, otherwise, you'd have to call MOS 18 the fifth app.
  7. If this is your argument, I rest my case . . . They are NOT the same page. You need to get off your duff and actually read the books. I read them and I see them above. They're all pitifully tiny cameos.
  8. Not reprints, how so? They are simply a comic with a different logo where the UPC or direct image would be placed. As far as I know there were no DC Universes only comics. As RMA implied, "reprints" are reprinted at a later date.
  9. Andrew Pepoy told me that the artists that did the holograms that went on the covers got commissions based on the sales of the books. He said his check was huge for the time and that one of the guys (Bagley?) put a downpayment on a house with the royalty from the 365 hologram. Was that a misspelling, or is this the guy from Oingo-Boingo? https://www.google.com/search?q=andrew+pepoy&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&channel=sb (thumbs u Andy Prieboy
  10. Happens all the time with comics that are plentiful -- and plentiful in high grade. Someone notices the graded copies are selling for a nice profit (considering one could buy them raw for $3-$5 and get them graded for $25 or so). Then the number of census copies go up and the price comes down. Some saturation going on with 18. That said, it appears that folks are a bit more driven currently to collect the "cameo" in 17 vs. the first full appearance in 18. Same thing is happening with the unofficial first appearance of Constantine. I believe you'll see another bump in both issues as soon as there's another announcement related to Doomsday (which is inevitable). Also: There may be elevated prices for a "newstand" edition vs. a "direct" edition. They're more rare in high grade and apparently more desirable. Much ado about nothing. #17 has always out-priced #18. It will eventually turn around for good. Hold your 18s and stick to your guns. Sell your 17s while the gettin' is good. What will be the catalyst that sees 18 replace 17 as the "one to own"? It's been discussed throughout this thread - where ya been? 17 is a cameo app that's shared in two other titles. 18 is 1st full app and cover and unique to MOS.

  13. Might as well go back further to Moon Knight # 1 http://www.comiccrusaders.com/defines-comic-characters-1st-appearance/ Right, but this is just wrong - Mary Jane's first appearance is in Amazing Spider-Man 25. Except that that's Ditko's version . . .
  14. Yes, it will. It has been up in price for a while though. The only WW comics I would ever purchase are Bolland covers. Say whaaat?! This is the COPPER thread . . .
