  1. The episodes were 5 minutes each. Maybe they are great, but the entire run of all Danger Mouse episodes ever made has a shorter runtime than a single season of a 1 hour drama. My point is, even if a new season of a BBC cartoon from 30 years ago resulted in new interest in Danger Mouse, why would that interest translate into interest in Danger Mouse's 24th and final comic book appearance, in the back of a book in which he doesn't appear on the cover, which has a higher print run than any of the earlier books actually starring him? Maybe you could make a case that his UK Annuals will see a spike. Or Danger Mouse lunch boxes. But the only chance Darkwing Duck #3 has of spiking, is if this board tricks people into buying it. I'm certainly not looking for a copy . . . But if I had one, it would now be for sale.
  2. I dunno, smart money seems to be on a dud . . . (Notice I said "smart" and not "my" . . . ) What smart money would this be exactly? The real question would be, "What's your money on?"

  4. Of course it does. It doesn't matter that I'm the seller. They are real sales. Bought and paid for by satisfied clients. In many ways, they are more trustworthy than blanket eBay "sold" searches and auction results. I think what he might have meant to say was a "pattern of sales" helps depect a comic gaining steam. Posting one sale means nothing to me either no matter how high it is. Posting 3 or 4 gets my attention. Yes, of course, I understood what he tried to say . . . and I said what I said. (And meant it.)
  5. Hell yeah, WW chained to the wall with a Nazi rocket phallus aiming right at her - impending deflowering, all controlled by crazed Nazi robot . . . what's not to like?
  6. Mark Jewelers insert. Yep, and 1st Jigsaw, Punisher App and Nightcrawler x-over. But primarily due to MJ insert and star stamp, I believe.
  7. Title of the thread is selling well. Looks like they did

  9. What part of "chainmail bikini" is confusing?
  10. There is nothing outside RMA's "happy zone". Nothing.
  11. It was an auction though, not a BIN. If you list that book by lowest price there would have been plenty of others BIN for lower. I know it's an auction. Listing an auction with an acceptable (to you) opening bid is good practice (particularly if you don't care if the book sells or not). Doesn't mean it's not a real sale though, just an odd one.
  12. All I'm sayin' is that DM fans should want it and considering how many episodes were made there is was def a fan base. There just aren't that many DM appearances out there. Sellers will turn their noses up at this one but true collectors should want it. Oh and there's a newsstand for this one too! The Look-in's predate this appearance but good luck finding those in the states. What's not to like? It looks like it's going to be written by one of the Horrible Histories writers which sounds great to me. I just hope someone gets smart and makes a Yonderland comic. True collectors of what? Danger Mouse is not a comic book character, he's a cartoon character who appeared in a small number of comic books. The show has been gone for almost 25 years, since right around the time he made his debut (and quick exit) in American comics. I used to watch Danger Mouse occasionally when I was a kid, but I barely remember anything other than it being another below average (production) quality cartoon. You are saying there is no fan base for Danger Mouse. I simply do not agree with you. http://www.amazon.com/Danger-Mouse-Complete-Seasons-1-6/dp/B000GAKMC0 You just don't get that many episodes made without decent ratings and a large amount of people who enjoy it. Just because you have a vague memory of something you didn't like does not mean it doesn't exit outside of your pessimistic little microcosm. Also what does it matter if he's a cartoon character or not? Millions upon millions of comics have been made about every cartoon you can think of. Some are very very valuable too. You may not collect comics that feature cartoon characters but I can assure you many people do. I have to lean toward Ween on this one.
  13. I certainly think it's appropriate (a tad eccentric, but appropriate).
  14. Yes and no, they can make a claim that the person didn't pay and get refunded. I doubt this is a shill (now that I am looking at the correct link) Listing your acceptable price is a good method of selling (as long as you're patient). I agree that there is nothing about this listing that would make me want to buy the book, however.
  15. This is an OPEN-FORUM thread, i.e., anyone can update the last revised set of guidelines (subject to minimum editorial review). ANY real controversies can be settled by poll within the thread. You don't like something? Make a poll. Welcome to the PGM Forum Here are some general guidelines for this thread. Remember that grading from a scan is not 100% reliable, but it is fun and interesting. Please contribute any suggestions you may have to these guidelines in this thread. PGM = "Please Grade My" GENERAL GUIDELINES 1. Please respect others while participating in the PGM Forum. Critique is valuable, but sometimes it can be over-the-line. Be conscious of what you post. 2. Please post only one (1) book per thread and a maximum of three (3) books per person per day. 3. You may provide a brief description of the book's condition and any hidden defects such as a loose or detached cover or centerfold, spine splits or tears, interior stains or tanning, and any other defect that is not readily discernible from a scan. 4. Please provide adequate size scans or, at the very least, clear photos of the book you are submitting for grading. Good quality scans are superior to photos, but if you don't have access to a scanner, photos will do. 5. Post scans of both front and back cover as a minimum. Additional scans or photos of problem areas are often helpful. 6. It's your thread - do as you like. But the recommended size of the scan within the thread is 850x1200 pixels. Anything larger tends to drag out the screen dimensions of the thread. You can link to larger scans if you like, but direct links are better. 7. The recommended file type is .jpeg or .png. 8. You may want to place a colored backer board or paper behind your book prior to scanning. Sometimes this helps to accentuate the edges of your book. Be sure that the backer board is not the same or similar color as the general colors of the front or back cover. 9. If you post your book in the PGM forum for grading and eventually send it into CGC for professional grading, it is suggested that you post the CGC results and if possible, an image of the slabbed book. Many here would like to see how well their grading skills match up to those at CGC. TIPS ON SCANNING Don't crop the edges of your scans too tight to the book edges and corners. Allow space around the perimeter of the book. Many scanners have default settings to select the image on the scanner bed. It is suggested that you turn that feature off. 16. Ok, Now maybe we can trim out the fat (work in progress). It would also be good if this were an OPEN-FORUM thread, i.e., anyone can update the last revised set of guidelines (subject to minimum editorial review). ANY real controversies can be settled by poll within the thread. You don't like something? Make a poll.
  17. I'm not seeing "quite the precipitous fall" at all. These are all raw "eBay graded" books. On the contrary, the demand is pretty steady.
  18. Agreed. Seriously silly. (It's not like it's the first appearance of LiveWire or anything . . . )
