  1. (or something similar) before the seller has even had a chance to respond to said PM? As a seller, I'd be rather miffed over a post like that - it makes the book seem like it has been sold, even though I haven't yet agreed to whatever the buyer is asking  Yep, it's total b.s., kinda like hitting the quick reply and then editing it after to put in the (but before anyone notices) Never saw that before . . .
  2. Who's Jay and who's Doug? Is this just another one of those "manufactured collectibles" disputes? And do I care?
  3. This qualifies as a probationary act, no matter how many friends you have on the boards. "I got a bridge for sale . . . "
  4. Fair enough Jon. I would have refunded him the money long ago, and moved along. As to Alex, I would have accepted the refund and moved along. Silly, how serious everyone gets. Regardless of the emotions involved, it's still only a transaction. He pays, you deliver. He doesn't pay, you don't deliver. You don't deliver, you refund. You can't remember paying or receiving, you seek help
  5. He also doesn't discount his sales threads - EVER! I realize now it's Canada - America's little cousin so I don't count that as being 'international' No worries, it's probably sitting in the back seat of his car . . .
  6. Give Steve Borock a call. You may not get top dollar after fees and such, but you wont have to worry and will have anything but a headache. That, is a great suggestion.
  7. The sky is falling! The sky is falling! If I provided links, you guys would have nothing to do . . .
  8. I've never seen more overgraded krap for sale in the forums then today . . .
  9. Yep. Whole-heartedly. The seller posts the rules in his thread. A deal made is a deal made - that "rule" pre-dates our existence. Happy Thanksgiving, btw - back to the stuffing . . .
  10. Actually, once you confirmed the sale with Green, it then becomes your responsibility to mark it "sold". You really are just trying to skirt around your acceptance of his offer Period. All the rest of the reasoning is irrelevant.
  11. Why? Someone who wasn't even involved in a transaction of mine complained and started a slanderous 35-page thread because of "semantics". I never responded in the thread because of the witch-hunt mentality around here. Besides, I didn't need to - the PM's between the parties were clear. "If you don't mind" is clearly optional, and Green doesn't need to make excuses - he should be bothered by Biorupp's actions. A confirmed "sold" is a confirmed "sold". That's why PM's exist.
  12. Sheesh! Can't even rouse any rabble around here . . . Is giving a rip considered restoration? WTF have you been? (not that I give a rip . . . ) This whole job, family, kids thing.....takes up your whole day!! You need to lower their expectations . . .
  13. It's quite simple really, dealers like pressed books, and collectors don't.
  14. Sheesh! Can't even rouse any rabble around here . . . Is giving a rip considered restoration? WTF have you been? (not that I give a rip . . . )
  15. Just so the record is clear, you were on the Probation List once previously, but for multiple infractions occuring in and around the same time.
  16. I actually voted "no". My reasoning is that while he definitely deserves to languish on the Probation List, I also feel that adding him to the HoS is a bit excessive. Compared to some of the people already in the HoS, his offenses, while serious enough on their own, seem relatively minor - he did not steal anyone's books nor their money (as far as I know), he did not perpetrate a massive fraud (like machinegunned), the transactions he backed out off were small (compared to douche-a-trons like TFL), and the shilling business, whilst distasteful, will hopefully be handled by the CGC mods. Yes, it pisses me off that he's boasting about being on the probation list, the shills, etc, but the HoS shouldn't be a popularity contest - it should be the last step, reserved for the most egregious offenders. Agreed.
  17. My thoughts are this: He was into several threads of mine and Mschmidt's (among others) and never paid. This was so long ago, I doubt either Michael or I could run a tally of what he owes us. He has never contacted us to resolve the matters. Period. Let him rot in the nether regions of the probation list . . . I agree with David. Taz never showed an ounce of remorse, nor gave anyone involved the impression that he cared one whit about being put on the probation list. From his latest comments, it's obvious that this is just a game to him, and as such I see no reason to support anything that would allow him to come off the list. What really pisses me off is that his latest shill - rudolph - purchased several books from my latest FS thread (and several more over PM), and I never had a clue I was dealing with someone who'd screwed me over previously - the sheer arrogance of this is just astounding. Asstounding!
  18. You're asking for a walk-away number? I don't think that's appropriate here . . .
