  1. The part about returning the guy the wrong watches is pretty crazy. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nytimes.com/2019/07/19/business/safe-deposit-box-theft.amp.html
  2. Do you think only a very small amount of raw buyers are getting books worth pressing and submitting?
  3. I had thought the infux of collectors in the last 10-15 years were people returning to the hobby for reasons such and nostalgia, movie interest, disposable income, etc. But I’ve been starting to wonder how much the market’s been/is effected by people buying raw and slabbed books just to press and resubmit. (Crack, Press, Resubmit) If there were no more books left to “upgrade”, and we essentially lost all the buyers who only purchased for that purpose, would that be a big impact? Many use their profits to buy their own keeper books, if we lost those sales would that be huge? What % of dealers/your sales go to suspected CPR buyers? Will they eventually run out of keys to upgrade and profit? What happens then? Just curious, perhaps it’s a very tiny % of the market.
  4. I saw this on ebay, I haven’t seen multiple date stamps before. Discussion? Or just kid/board worker just stampin the day away?
  5. For those who don’t have to pay tax on these auctions, take advantage of it now. I imagine 99% of states will have to pay soon.
  6. Latest pick ups I’ve seen some of these on the boards before, so thanks for selling! Very cool to have a Funnies-inc office copy.
  7. Is SDCC the highest cost lowest profit show of the year? If so, when did this trend start?
  8. And it would be amazing to be able to buy a 2.0 #27 for only $454.
  9. On a not too surprising note, Cap #27 doesn’t even have it’s own entry in Overstreet. ><...it’s in the same price group as 26-30.
  10. I agree 100% even 13 seems low at times as well.
  11. The “classic covers” command a higher price than the better interior content of 4-10, I’m sure this started when slabbing caused covers to be a larger focus than before. #7 (classic Kirby cover), #13 (pearl harbor cover), 27&37 (classic Schomburg), 36 (Hitler Cover), 74 (Red skull weird tales cover), and perhaps the 4th most valuable cap behind 1, 3, and 2, #46 the classic Schomburg holocaust cover.
  12. Just off the top of my head I know a 8.0 Action #1 sold for over 2 million and a Tec 27 5.0 went for $560k+ just last year, so I’m not really sure what you’re talking about.
  13. Cap 01 has been a Top 10 Golden Age book for 40 years before his movie. So it's not "all about Hollywood hype".
  14. I see no reason Cap #1 will no longer rise in price. Entry levels keep going up as far as I can tell. I suppose if in the future no one cares about Jack Kirby, History of comic books, World War 2, and Disney stopped all Captain America products the book's popularity would fall.
  15. Can you describe going to get a comic? Were the shopkeepers nice? Could you read the comics before purchasing?
  16. Did Veryzl have the highest grade and maybe best Timely collection?
  17. Ahh, sorry didn’t catch that it was a restored book. I thought it was a blue .5 with missing back cover.
  18. So 100k for a green label 4.0? I’m not sure if that’s high or low.
