  1. We have examined the book closely and don't see any evidence that the slab has been tampered with. The "Minor side edge crack" mentioned in our item listing is not evidence of tampering--it's just a tiny hairline crack about an inch below the upper right corner. Our consignment manager says she'd have to break it open to examine the inner well, but doesn't see anything off about the exterior. Just spoke to CGC and they were very helpful. We are sending the book to CGC to review and determine what happened.
  2. And now I feel stupid for not believing it then
  3. That is simply awesomeX3! Once for the pedigree, once for the book itself, and once for the signature. Thanks! A little back story on the book...Terry Stroud of The American Comic Book Co. had it for sale at his booth at SDCC in the late '70s. It was priced around $350. I looked at it every day of the show but never pulled the trigger. On Sunday I went by to look at it one last time and Terry asked me if I wanted it. I told him I couldn't afford it, I only had $145 left. He said he would sell it for that. I didn't think I heard him right at first but he took the loot and I got the book. In the early '90s I met Mike Manyak, one of the original purchasers of the San Fransisco Timelys. He started recounting the tale and without prompting he spoke about having one of the Marvel Mystery Comics, he thought it was 14 or 15, signed by Schomburg at convention and how he later sold it to Terry. My book! It was pretty cool to have confirmation that the autograph was authentic after all those years of not knowing.
  4. Go! GO! Doooooo iT! I think the mystique of the Borock old label is somehow stopping me. Is there a chest hair stuck in there? Or worse....
  5. What was the grade for the book? Just curious! So glad I have my lowly 2.0 I couldn't afford this book anymore! Will this book EVER run out of steam? Or will demand always outpace supply? Seems unlikely to happen anytime soon! Yeah, this book will just keep going up in price. So I should probably just get one in a condition I afford now. Or I just need to make money faster
  6. I'm glad you're enjoying it. Some moments in that game are just truly brutal. But that's why I personally feel that Naughty Dog is the best video game developer. The story they tell can emotionally get to you. Something that not very many developers could pull off +1 They also made a fun game to play though. A lot of recent games are either story heavy or gameplay heavy. Naughty Dog has done a nice job balancing the two. I even really enjoyed the multiplayer in The Last of Us. When the second comes out, I'll be buying a PS4. Are you not at all planning to play Uncharted 4?
