  1. Scosas, nice setup man. I wish I could organize my books that way.
  2. @slym, I didn't know that. Thanks for the info. Now I have some arguments for those pesky XMen Annual 14 apologists.
  3. Thanks for appreciating HarveySwick, I try to make up for my lack of noteworthy slabs/keys by displaying what I have nicely. Psithyrus, that's nice and I'm sure Nick's a class act. However, I live in the Philippines and getting him to sketch on my TMP 1 would be next to impossible.
  4. Hello, sharing my simple statue set-up. Here's a view of my Entertainment Room set-up (or we can call it the obligatory mancave). Here's a closer look on the DC side. The comics rotate from time to time. Here's the Marvel section. Guess what's the recurring theme for the DC comics versus the Marvel comics background. Sandman section! Best comic of all-time! I do have some other Sandman statues and figures but they won't fit in the display area. Recreating The Last Supper with Buddy Christ at the center, Dexter as the traitor Judas, Einstein as Peter and Kahlo as the effeminate John. The rest of the apostle-historical persons association are random. I have recreated the X-Men 1 cover in all affordable scales (Marvel Legends, Marvel Universe, Superhero Squad, Heroclix, Squinkies, etc). But my favorite is Minimates. Chucky guards my collection. Just for the heck of it, I sometimes remove the toy from the box and leave the box opened to freak out guests. Remember, remember... Best comic performance of all-time, best Joker story of all-time! It's a Hot Toys Heath Ledger as the Joker. My coup de grace - Albert Einstein. My grail would be an authentic signature from the man himself. Right now, I'm also looking for a CGC SS of TMP 1 with an Einstein sketch (help please). That Relativity book is a special reprint by the Folio Society. I have other Einstein books and figs, I'll share them one of these days. Thanks for looking at my humble collection guys.
  5. Thanks for the appreciation batmiesta, waylander, hdiddy8706, Cyclops, timern and maccai3! @Ebel, I get you man...somewhat, the V mask is more unsettling than my Chucky figures. @Senormac, Haha. Indeed the Boy Genius is the greatest genius of them all! I actually ran out of my small historical figures collection...well, I still did have Marie Curie, but it was sealed in the Scientists collection. So, I went with another in-scale figure (sort of)...hence, Dexter Iscariot! By the way, there's still a line of these figures that I don't have - the Leaders composed of Che, Mandela, Gandhi, Mao...I'm still prowling ebay for a good price. @pelayo31, I almost always do this with my figures. I mix my statues or action figures and pose them according to the comic covers. This is especially cool with minimates. RedL, yup I have, and thanks for noticing!
  6. Hello. I really appreciate this thread. I love seeing great collections and creative ways of displaying them. Kindly allow me to share my own, while it is not impressive as the ones featured here, I am quite happy with them. Hopefully, I can expand on this with the help of fellow boardies. Here's a view of my Entertainment Room set-up (or we can call it the obligatory mancave). I tried to combine all aspects of my collection in that picture - Sandman, Big 7 (Big 3 in this case), Minimates, and Comics. My Einstein and Historical 1/6th Scale Figure collection will be slightly focused on later. Here's a closer look on the DC side. The comics rotate from time to time. Here's the Marvel section. 7. Hi Guys, I am an Einstein collector. Let me share some of my collection. The smaller picture contains a piece of wood from Einstein's home in Switzerland. When my figure collection was small, they were organized. Now, it grew and I have yet to acquire a customized shelf to house them. My ultimate grail would be an autograph from the man himself. I'm saving up for it. It will be the centerpiece of my collection. However, I'm also thinking of another grail piece that will nicely complement my figures and it will combine my love for Einstein and comic books. It's an SS CGC of Manhattan Projects 1 with Einstein's sketch on the cover from the man himself, Mr. Pitarra. If any of you guys are considering selling yours, or if you have doubles, I'm very interested to purchase them. I do have a TMP 1 that I think is a candidate for 9.6-9.8, however, I live in the Philippines and it'll be very difficult for me to send my copy and have it signed, sketched and encapsulated from here. Thanks for the assist and for viewing my collection.
  8. You're probably right. I hate the fact that he is doing the art. Maybe after a couple of arcs he leaves and someone more fitting to the Surfer is put in his stead. Only time will tell I guess right? The SS is just begging for a good series.... Put Hickman on Silver Surfer and watch wonders happen. Your dreaming there. Marvel wouldn't pay him sadly. It would be awesome though. I think Oeming and maybe Scott Eaton or any other Cosmic style artist. This ship wont make it long enough to get another artist I don't think. Dan Jurgens did a nice job on Thor along time ago, I bet he could do Surfer. To save money he can write and draw it. Yeah, such a shame. Hickman is the best sci-fi comic writer nowadays. And I feel that SS deserves an epic story grounded on plausible if not entirely accurate scientific principles. I remember when Marvel launched its Marville program wherein they were accepting story proposals from its readers for a chance to be a writer for the House of Ideas, I almost submitted an SS story.

  10. Got one of each variant, better condition than the second issue. Loved it! I adore how each character gets his or her own share of the emotional spotlight (Mr. Lodge, Moose, Midge, etc.) Can't wait for the next issue!
  11. You're quite the eagle eye, that was a very short clip. Hehe. Hope she forms part of the main cast.
  12. This would be heart-wrenching. No amount of "Darth Vader-ish" sacrifice for his new family will make me forgive him. I'm surprised nobody picked up on this TBP. I've noticed Alanna Masterson's "gifts" since she first appeared. Disappointingly, I could not google any "interesting" pics of her.
  13. Liked this. A great bang for the buck, quite a lengthy read.
  14. I think the more depth you add to the Governor, the better. He's a really dynamic actor, and I'm so glad they're letting him out of the cage a little. The idea of limiting him to this barbaric nutjob wouldn't work on TV. I love this tension. Really do. +1. Actually like this direction. I thought last year was a fiasco with this character. I'm more optimistic now Yes, the best villains are the ones that you catch yourself starting to like right before they remind you how evil they are, then you hate yourself a little. Some of the best dramas on TV humanize their villains to the point where you catch yourself rooting for them: Sons of Anarchy, Breaking Bad, The Sopranos, etc. Don't forget Theodore "T-Bag" Bagwell of Prison Break. A villain to the end, but his emotions over the death of his cousin and his love for his "girlfriend" humanized him. Brad Bellick was also sweet, but he eventually turned into a hero.
  15. . This for me seems to be just a bonus. I could have lived without it. Yes, it was great but this episode was just as awesome without it! I've said it before and I will say it again. BAD- HERSHEL!!! He makes being good and Christian look so cool.
  16. I know it's not a popular opinion around here, but it kind of echoes my feelings about the book so far. (Disclaimer, I've read EoW #1-4 only, didn't get to #5 yet.) There's tremendous talent in the plotting, craft in the setup, the art is a pleasure to look at and the covers are cool. Even so, I'm kinda on the fence as to continuing and can't quite put my finger on it. Maybe it's that the characters didn't grab me emotionally, or only grabbed me in fits and spurts, compared to a title like Saga which has more warmth and dark humor to it. Now I look forward to being told that I should go read My Little Pony. I get that sentiment. It's different than what I infer from the OP. He seemed to not understand what was going on in the plot. While it can be difficult to put the pieces all together, they are there. It just requires a little more work and recall than some books. Personally, I love that and it helps me get some re-read value out of the book. If EoW isn't your cup of tea, that's cool. It's not for everyone. Saga is a much warmer book. EoW is much more serious, which makes sense given the subject matter. +1 every one is entitled to there own opinion regardless of the backlash with more time i will assume people will truly begin to see what is so special about this book later in the series when more can be understood. #mylittlepony My sentiment was not one of misunderstanding, I think my summation of the EoW story is correct. I just can't appreciate it, I know I'm going to get a lot of flak for this as this is the EoW thread, but I'm just being honest about it. Like I said, I love Manhattan, God is Dead is ugly, Infinity is lukewarm...so Hickman is a hit and miss for me. Similar to Point Five's sentiment, none of the characters were relatable for me. Death's sidekick were invincible, so they can do pretty much anything, no threat was present to the protagonist. Perhaps, the story will develop in the second arc, I don't know.
  17. This episode bored me, nothing much happened. Hopefully things pick up next week.
  18. Just read issues 1-5. I'm afraid I didn't quite like it (I do like TMP). I just didn't feel what the story was about. Three of the four horsemen are kids, Death has gone nomadic, with two invincible sidekicks. They lay waste to pseudo-China (which you wouldn't really feel posed much of a threat anyway) and he finally got back to his wife. Why?
  19. My vote goes to Sleeper. Engaging and unputdownable.
