  1. I don’t think the scans do it justice, but I finally found a very nice upgrade for the fourth issue of the UK Vampirella series. By far the toughest issue for me, replacing a 7.5 copy. i love the proclamation on the back cover, although the way of life in the UK apparently ended with this last issue.
  2. Richard is an absolute pleasure to buy from. He communicated promptly from start to finish, shipped the books quickly and safety and provided tracking right away. The magazines I purchased were as described, and a fantastic value at that. Thanks again Richard!
  3. Yes, it’s a British fan magazine for Warren. They have many interviews with creators and others involved that haven’t appeared anywhere else. Worth tracking down if you’re similarly obsessed. The standard issues are small in format, but this year book is in the European magazine size, taller than US standard.
  4. Here are some new pickups from the last few weeks. I probably didn’t need another Creepy 2, but that book is so tough, I can’t resist a nice copy. The Deadly Hands was an upgrade, although I would still like to improve on the centering of this one. The Spooky yearbook is a new addition. I had meant to get the After Hours issues into my collection earlier, but have finally gotten around to picking up the first issue at least.
  5. You’re really making some serious headway on your mag collection, Dover!
  6. I nearly forgot, a few Heavy Metal upgrades as well.
  7. In what seems to be a never ending quest to upgrade Blazing Combat issues, I picked up these copies of 2 and 3.
  8. It wasn’t. Amazing how long it sat unused until Warren was in financial trouble, when it seems he was looking for something already in house, must have come across it. Hence the reprinted covers that followed on 97-99. Great to have a copy of that original intended cover, congratulations.
  9. That’s a very strong week of collecting. Congratulations on a lot of cool mags!
  10. I don’t know if the single highest graded Blazing Combat #1 9.4 could get there price wise, but that’s perhaps a $25k+ book right now. It took two bidders to get that ST #1 to that price, so one of them is still out there empty handed. Who knows if he will find a challenger to be able to repeat anything close to that price. Time will tell, as a result like this will inspire at least someone to put their copy up for sale.
  11. Nah. He’s right. I just had an $800 tracking bid out there. I’m happy with my raw copy, but was curious how this one would play out. A solid 3-4x what I would have thought. Other than Playboy 1, this seems like a magazine record. With the current market, it would seem that Vampirella 1 9.8 and Shock Illustrated 3 9.8 would be the only candidates to potentially eclipse this number. At least logically they should. The current market is far from logical, though.
  12. No disrespect to the guys that just listed this on eBay, but another 9.0 for comparison.
  13. Hey! That’s what you have to call a good week!
  14. I think I would go for the 1,000 at $19. And I would in fact like immediate delivery.
  15. Undeniable, you’re in the club! Congratulations!
  16. Sorry to have to miss this show for the first time in a couple of decades. Hope everyone enjoys it.
  17. It’s a tough one to locate for sure. I would imagine it will be a long periodic watching of eBay Germany or Spain. I searched eBay.de and Abe’s without luck.
