  1. The kid on the cover of that Blip magazine looks like Albert from little house on the prairie
  2. That's the one from the recent board sales thread isn't it? I was eyeing that one up I'm a raw collector, that thing would look great cracked out I love love love back cover defects.
  3. Wonder how often he got called "Munchkin"in school? I'm thinking everyday
  4. Everything will be fine with the sale They will take the comic they bought from you, trim the living sheet out of it, and offer it up at more money, and a higher grade.
  5. So some guy working out of his garage in Australia with only a couple Koala bears as assistants can make a case free of newton rings and pressure waves? Maybe CGC can fly one of the Koala bears over to assist with their new case.
  6. Just snapped one for you, aaaand Seanfingh, of course .... So that really was you in that avatar pic you finally took down (thanks) You look like you have gained some weight since then
  7. Mr. Chocolate Chip Cataldo, IV. Heir to the Chipwich dynasty. Or Mr. Chip "chips ahoy" Cataldo The biggest elf in the keebler cookie tree
  8. Just give time for people to forget the silly movies and they will land back to reasonable prices. Maybe not reasonable as once they were, but regardless… I can’t believe so many people could do WITHOUT a #45 or a #52 and all of a sudden "they need them"… :: I managed to grab a plod #52 5.5 cheap a few months ago, small amount of color touch, and a stain on the back cover. Cracked that sucker out, bagged and boarded it, and put it in a top loader Looks 8.0 + I'm thrilled With the crazy price jumps I was beginning to think I would never get a decent looking copy
  9. McDonalds I've recommended it to several people in your position over the years. It's easy to get hired by them, and there are lots of advancement opportunities You start working for them this week so you have some money coming in, get your resume together, and start sending it out. McDonalds is only till something better comes along. You will royally F your daughters life up if you do what you are alluding to. (It's the absolute most selfish thing you can do in the world, think about your daughter instead of yourself) But part of me thinks it's just a ploy for more sympathy, and to get yourself out of hot water from the go fund me fiasco, as you will notice how all talk shifted over to "don't do it chip"
  10. If only that is how it always worked. I know I'm not the only one who was more sympathetic knowing he has a kid. Honestly, knowing he has a kid and still went on with that "woe is me" claptrap just made me more frustrated with him. We've put off starting a family for the last 2 plus years while I left a pretty lucrative career and went to back to school to do something different. And believe me, it's been a struggle. We're making ends meet, but there's not much left after the bills are paid. I've been pulling 12-18 hour days between school, work, and clinical rotations at the hospital, and I've loved almost every minute of it. Because I know it's leading somewhere good. Chip seems to focus on what he doesn't have, but I see that picture of his beautiful kid, and frankly, I envy him. Sometimes you have to take stock in what you have and go from there, and everything else will fall into place if you work for it. I told him almost the exact same thing in a PM
  11. I still have many pages of this thread to read yet, but I wanted to pause and recognize the use of a word I have never seen or heard of before. I thought it might be BS, so I googled it, nope, it's a real word. Nicely done
  12. Congrats on the job Chip, now get your sheet back together and keep it that way.
  13. That's a beauty I've been looking for a while myself for one with a good wrap and non indented staples, not always easy to find on this issue
  14. I think I just found the perfect name for my new gym complex.
  15. Agreed. So much potential being missed. Kind of like Marvel should give Loki his own movie, but they don`t. I may be wrong, but I don't think villains can carry a feature film on their own. The only one that might be able to is an origin story for the Joker, but even that would not do great at the box office. While people like their villains, they also want the heroes to take them down in a movie. Not me I often root for the bad guys Stephen King books are great because they don't always have happy endings
  16. The longer I look at this photo, the more I feel like I'm tipping over on my right side
  17. Apparently it was chopped off during his transformation, which would account for him being such a whining pu**y the whole movie "Reed help" "Reed help me" 'RRREEEEEDDDDDD" Over and over Worst portrayal of Ben Grimm EVER Didn't look right, sound right, move right, or act right. Completely out of character from the comic book
  18. They were doing some kind of audio processing on her voice in those films that added to her gravitas to make it sound otherworldly that they're not doing with Lawrence for whatever reason. In the scene you just linked, Romijn wasn't at all responsible for her threateningness, the screenwriter and director were...in the few seconds they showed her she had no lines and just stood there. Sorry. You missed the point of the example. Even in The Last Stand, when she is locked up in a secure cell playing psychological warfare with her security guard, just looking out you can tell what she threatens WILL happen. But even during her interrogation, you can tell they had done a masterful job of capturing the spirit of Mystique in addition to fantastic demonstrations how deadly the character truly is to anyone that gets in her way. That's not to say Jennifer Lawrence hasn't done a good job with the role. There were scenes in Days of Future Past I really enjoyed seeing her in action. It's just not the same feel with the character. Look at Rebecca's face and eyes, perfect for the part, Jennifer's girl next door look and eyes are about as non-threatening as they come.
  19. What's your issue with Jennifer Lawrence? Far and away the most over-rated actress in the last 20 years. Terrible physical presence for Mystique Mystique is ultra athletic, with hyper reflexes, and moves with a fluid gracefulness Jennifer is wide hipped, horsey, and moves with a plodding clumsiness (in her scenes when it's really her, and not the stunt double) Rebecca Romijn was ten times better, and the perfect physical presence for the part. Heck, anybody else would be better. Jennifer IS NOT superhero material Let her stick to girl next door type roles
  20. Well, I've been watching previews and I'll definitely be there to see it. Other than WAAYYYYYY more jennifer lawrence than I care for (1 minute is to much) I think it looks good.
  21. You can't get closer than that. Wow! Looks and sounds like him, watch the clip
