  1. Can't wait to see this. I think it might be the first movie that actually makes the whole orange/blue colouring a perfect fit. The marketing for this movie has been great. Good designers on all elements, from the actual main promotions to all the side art such as these retro posters (which is how a poster should be done!) All posters can be viewed here
  2. More pics here of the latest filming in my city They listed it as a Marvel movie....yay facts!. But seriously, there is way to much mask-less Deadshot in all these pics.
  3. Still optimistic? Research. She is a beast sometimes. Fanboy attempts to slip onto Suicide Squad set in costume Research? Fact Checking? ON THE INTERNET? HAHAHAAHA but seriously, that is awesome. hehe
  4. The metal teeth are fine, and in fact fit perfectly. Someone like him would be loosing many teeth in both fights with Batman and prison beatings (in which he would just take it and be laughing all the while). Actually one of the things that bugged me about comics through the years, everyone is getting their teeth knocked out yet are walking around with perfect pearly whites in every panel those tattoos on the other hand...tattoos are fine, but those tats look like something some one trying to replicate / pay tribute to the joker would get (like a fanboy or lackey/goon). I do however understand the direction. Each cinematic Joker took great care to distance themselves, personality wise, from the previous version, and this looks to do that perfectly thus far. i'm optimistic about it.
  5. Combination of new subscribers, subscriber retention & view counts, and throwing them into some sort of algorithm, if I had to bet. Netflix probably has projected new subscriber & subscriber retention rates that they can use as a "baseline". Add to that watch-rate tracking to determine if it's an issue of correlation or causation is probably what they look into if those "baseline" numbers get skewed up or down during a new-release period. In response to those asking about season 2: Unfortunately as it stands right now it has already been announced that season 2 a no for the time being. They are moving on to the other Marvel properties first (the next being AKA Jessica Jones, followed by Luke Cage, and lastly Iron Fist). There is talks / rumours that they want to do a Defenders show, but only if the previous four do well.
  6. Need a closer, fuller look. At first glance, I like the movie costume better, but that pic and the other one are so dark and incomplete that I can't really tell. Looks like they addressed the issue of his ears being covered--I think I see little vents over his ear. Out of everything with the show - executed so well - I think the only thing that took me out of the experience was the final costume. Everything about is seems to work except the eyes, and much prefer a red lens over them (like the previous movie / comics). It was a little jaring when I finally saw the costume reveal, suddenly the show felt cheap and like it was transitioning to the CW It was as if up until that point I forgot I was watching a comic book show, not jut a gritty crime drama.
  7. Ummm I think you are wrong. Well, enjoy being doubly wrong
  8. Just finished the first three episodes, and wow - that fight scene at the end of ep 2 was amazing. The single shot hallway felt very reminiscent of (and inspired by) that of the hallway fight in Old Boy (original not the remake, obviously).
  9. Could you explain the error to me? Some copies of Sandman #18 are noted as variants or blue panel variants. It appears that the yellow and blue coloring is reversed on the first page giving it 3 blue panels instead of yellow. Very few of these issues are in circulation with CGC showing less than 5 officially graded copies. Yup, that's pretty much it and I personally think the blue color fits the scene better than the original yellow. The rarity/demand is also helped by it being one of the most notable and famous stories (A Dream of a Thousand Cats) to come from the Sandman series.
  10. Just explored a random comic shop in Niagara Falls and found the crazy rare Sandman #18 error varient. Whooooo!!!!!!! ???? awesome grail version of one of my favourite stories ever.
  11. I actually really like the idea that the origin would be modified to be a trip to the negative zone. Far more interesting than a space flight.
  12. For some reason I don't think anyone has posted the Yellowjacket concept art (at least not this version)
  13. Frank Quitely for pretty much awesome innovations. His panel work often becomes more important than the actual art he fills them with. I think we are all familiar with his awesome work on We3 (and if you are not, fix that asap) For my favourite, overall career, would still be John Romita jr. I grew up with his work on Iron Man (Armor Wars 2 features some of my favourite work by him at the time) and while he is a little less consistent in recent years his work on Avengers #1-6 (Heroic Age) and The Eternals mini-series was perfection
  14. Once again, the excellent filters protecting the children from these horrible words Now back to reading about the Adventures of Moby's Spoon.
  15. For anyone who liked watching House and the Sopranos and wished there was some way to combine both ideas into one I recommend ' Beat the Reaper ' by Josh Bazell. I'm about halfway through it now and while it isn't the best written novel i've read this year it is very well paced and has an excellent collection of characters keeping everything exciting. Also try reading the ebook as it has many notations which you can click for random medical/mafia info (and then easily jump back to your last place)
  16. Wow...was checking prices (via comics.gocollect.com) and a cgc 5.0 (matching the grade of my issue in this club) just sold on ebay for $2,700 (Best offer, original listing price $2,999)...well, pretty happy with owning a 'low-grade' issue now
