  1. FYI it isn't anything to do with time-hopping or traveling, it's just access to memories. Just as when you are trying to figure out a problem you might suddenly remember a moment from your past that can help you. But yes, not everyone learns it fully enough (or tries to) to get to that level of perception. "It's a poor sort of memory that only works backwards" - The Queen of Hearts Except that her "memory" was working forwards, too, so it wasn't memory and therefore had everything to do with time-hopping. Disagree. Exactly! (hence my Alice in Wonderland quote about memory) Also, good news: "Arrival/Blade Runner 2029 director Denis Villeneuve expressed an interest in directing a remake to Dune" GIVE IT TO HIM NOW!

  3. Well, they ain't. One is called 'Arrival' and the other older one is called 'The Arrival' and I don't think anyone gives the Charlie Sheen movies much thought anymore nor would even refer to it as 'the original'. At least it is better then the vast amount of other movies that have identical names (Bad Boys, Gladiator, Red, Crash, The Illusionist etc.. etc.. etc..)
  4. This is one of my most anticipated movies this year (other than the new Godzilla which i've already seen) as anything based on a story by Ted Chiang is going to be interested. I recommend all of his stories for any sci-fi fan (the collection 'Stories of Your Life and Others' is amazing)
  5. Just this guy back from being restored by Hero Restoration. Very surprised on the grade as it looks comparable to many other 7.5 - 8.0 issues I own and looks amazing in hand (the colors pop much more than in this pic).
  6. I like this idea. Would have been against it had it been a complete hard reboot but this spin seems much more interesting Loved that movie as a kid and think this is an amazing idea.
  7. Yeah the death rumours are just that. Nothing has actually happened yet, but i'm sure someone will be killed while playing it (Just like driving while using GPS, or using any mobile app and not paying attention). http://factually.gizmodo.com/no-a-man-didnt-cause-a-major-traffic-accident-while-pl-1783425087
  8. Kinda, not really - it was literally a re-edit of the Lone Wolf and Cub movie (and parts of the sequel movie).
  9. For Keanu, yes. It would give us something better than 47 Ronin at least
  10. YAY - she finalized her Cloak & Dagger sketches
  11. First off, keep in mind this is going to be directed by the legendary Hideaki Anno. That means either you will be having an enjoyable fun time OR crying to yourself in existential horror about the nature of the universe As for WHY Godzilla looks that way: I think it, if this is true, is a VERY cool idea.
  12. Kate Beaton ( Who brought us the best Kraven the Hunter story ever made ) did some quick doodles about the problems the show might face translating her costume: NSFW COMICS
  13. For anyone interested here are the behind-the-scenes special features they released on youtube. So amazing to watch and gives you even MORE respect for the movie after seeing how much skill went into the production of it (they built THREE war rigs!!?!!) About the filming and FX - All the cars!!! -
  14. Their deaths in "Jump the Shark" was shown to have been faked so they could continue their operations more discreetly. This was revealed in the comic series 'Season 10' which is canon.
  15. You're comparing female comic readers versus females in comic stores and at cons. Two different things. Exactly. I would bet the gender ratios balance out whem looking at bookstores and online services. This is it right here. At this point in life I know more girls who read comics than guys (all the guys I know collect old stuff, and are not really modern readers expect for a few series that are just the same characters they used to collect, nothing new). They stay away from most LCS because they really don't want to have to deal with some bad attitudes and from the men their (which IS a problem regardless of where you go) so they instead get their books from other specialty shops (indy shops which typical 'comic guys' don't frequent), book stores, or online. However when it comes time for conventions they are all out in full force.
  16. Well, one other friend of mine had not seen it yet and so who am I to let that slide. Went to see Mad Max AGAIN for the fifth time. STILL AMAZING!
  17. Just saw Ant-Man tonight - by far one of the more enjoyable Marvel movies they have put out. Every one of the character changes for Pym seemed perfect, thank god they can successfully distance themselves what is often convoluted character histories and make them a little more relatable. Sure we got yet another bad-guy-business man, but didn't mind this one so much. This has cleansed my brain of the stain left by Avengers 2!!
  18. That reminds me...I need to own this issue. Great cover! (adds it to his to-hunt list for the next fan expo)
  19. Why....purple? Dark blue would have looked so good and evil....and he looks so tiny
  20. Exactly. I wasn't interested in any FF before this recent trailer, but now I honestly think this is a great way to handle them. I love the origin change to the negative zone, the life time of genius and awkwardness from Reed, as well as what IMO is a good origin & look for doom - it seems like he will actually have something he can blame reed for (and his space suite fusing with his body into the mental skin is a good way to force him into armour for the rest of his life). That poster though....Thing needs pants. I don't care if he no longer has any 'junk' down there he is still human and psychologically he may feel uncomfortable being fully naked (hell if most people are ashamed of their bodies then Ben of all people would also feel that way since it takes him awhile to come to terms with his monstrous look).
  21. Why is this so much fun? I love the feature...so much so I built it into Mikes new site, so if you like playing with it then check it out on some restored comics http://www.herorestoration.net/services/restoration/
  22. Agreed. I really felt like I wasted my money seeing Avengers a second time.
  23. Just saw it, so worth it. Might even see this again depending who of my other friends have yet to see it and need company (really wish I didn't see Avengers 2 a second time and just used the money towards seeing this one again). Pretty much the most perfect action movie in a long while.
