  1. Hmm, according to this, we'll have to sit on Happy! a little longer than that: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/rza-direct-genghis-khan-biopic-376173 At least one more project, if not two, before we get to the horse. Any word on this becoming an on-going, or still a mini?
  2. Mr. Donut - Any specific titles or even issues to check out? Mr. Donut - Perhaps you could buy them for me and have them dropshipped to me? Could you please enlighten me as to why asking for clarification is incorrect? This is a speculation thread where people post what comics they think will go up in value. If he/she doesn't want to elaborate, fine, but I don't think asking is wrong. This whole thread probably could have started and ended with a single post - "Comics from 1992 - current should go up."; I thought this was a place for people to learn about comics and collecting them.

  4. I know there are a lot of examples out there for people to prove me wrong, but part of the reason I liked Image and the other independents was the (recent) lack of variants. You buy an issue and that's it; it's the only one. I looked at the big 2 and there were at least 1 variant for every issue for most of their series; a big turn-off as you could practically see the dollar signs in their eyes. Sure, put out a variant of a special/hallmark issue (#1, #50, #100, etc), but what Bedlam and Revival are trending towards is a downer for me. /end rant
  5. Hats off to my LCS, and, specifically, the manager, Jim, for making it a good, and expensive day. Went to two stores near my work around lunch and 0 Catwoman. Went to my LCS after work and Jim put aside a Catwoman b/c I had called the week before about Batgirl. BG was also put aside for me. There was 1 more BG on the shelf and ~10 BM #13. And the WD 103 variant on the shelf for cover. Back when Revival came out, that variant was also available for cover. I will not stray.
  6. Anyone here want to lay claim to this?: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Death-of-the-Family-5-Lot-13-Batman-Variant-Catwoman-Batgirl-Red-Hood-/251169502944?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item3a7ade76e0
  7. I just took the plunge on a BIN. Didn't want to, but I definitely can't count on my LCS having one after work. Or that it won't already be marked up to a similar price.
  8. Went to 2 LCS before lunch and both sold out. Going to my "regular" LCS after work and not planning on seeing anything there, either. If anyone has an extra and wants to help a brother out... I will also accept a Chew #29 variant.
  9. 1 for larrys! theres a 1st 2nd 3rd 4th for number 1 chew 1 tho chew collector! Phew; that's what I thought. I bought a nice sketch issue off of eBay and just spotted a note saying it wasn't the first print. I had assumed it meant not the first print of the normal #1, but wanted to be sure. Now to save up for a "real" #1... haha nice work how much did you end up paying for that comic book? $35. Listing had it at a 9.0, but all I can see is a slight spine tick on the back. Maybe I'm just being optimistic.

  11. Dumb question: How many printings are there of the Larry's Sketch variant #1? Is there only one printing or multiple?
  12. Well, as expected, I'm getting grief.. Is there a specific eBay/PayPal policy regarding shipping, or do you just have to hope you get an understanding seller?
  13. OK; I'll wait to see what the seller says. Hopefully he/she doesn't give me hassle. The pains of eBay - even if it's a good scan, the seller could still ship it horribly. i.e. A bubble mailer, bag, board, and two loose pieces of cardboard that don't cover have the comic.
  14. Little bit of an aside here, but I recently received a comic that was damaged during shipping/handling. I have contacted the seller and waiting for a response. As a buyer and seller, if a comic is damaged during shipping, and there is no insurance, is there any set way this plans out? Or is it all up to the two parties to figure it out? Thanks, -- Dave
  15. Are the one or two Batgirl/Batman 13's that sold for > $40 any different than the ones I bought yesterday at my LCS? http://www.ebay.com/itm/BATGIRL-13-NEW-52-DIE-CUT-VARIANT-JOKER-COVER-WITH-BARCODE-MINT-/130779508365?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item1e7310ee8d http://www.ebay.com/itm/Batman-13-Death-of-a-Family-Joker-Die-Cut-Variant-Cover-1st-Print-2012-New-52-/180992839199?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item2a24038e1f
  16. I saw this same "problem" in many of the comics I bought from a regular Joe seller. Very noticeable on the issues with black covers. As a later poster said, they all look "trimmed" but it's just how the comic came out. I haven't submitted one for grading yet, so I can't be 100% positive, but from what I've read/seen, it shouldn't hurt the grade. I suppose CGC would consider this along the lines of a production error. -- Dave
  17. This involves a WD comic (the same one as above, #27), so... I bought it very cheap as part of a lot from a seller and it's one of the few issues worth getting graded - both in terms of looks and return. Without waiting another 6 months or more for a CGC-attended Con to roll into my area, what is the best way to get it graded and what are the costs? I know there is self-submit, and shop-submit, or the possibility of shipping it to someone near a CGC Con, but have only done on-site. Can someone in the know tell me how much each (generally) costs for a modern and which is easier? Thanks, -- Dave
