DEADPOOL 2: Are Ryan Reyonlds and Hugh Jackman Teasing Pierce Brosnan as Cable?

As you can see, Ryan Reynolds is either teasing or trolling fans with this image. It shows Reynolds and Logan star Hugh Jackman (aka Wolverine) hanging out with none other than former James Bond star, Pierce Brosnan.

Needless to say, having Pierce Brosnan playing Cable would be a much different choice than most fans' wish-list casting of actors like Stephen Lang, Jon Hamm or Gerard Butler.

    STEVEN LANG FTW!!!!!

I believe it has been reported that he has a scheduling conflict with the filming of Avatar. Though, how he's involved with that is a mystery to me, since he's dead in that mythos, right?

I heard it was all a Bobby Ewing dream.... lol

  3. Personally, I don't like the sound of this new movie. They are pushing the comedy too much. It was great for Deadpool, won't work for everything. Poor choice IMO.

    +1

Ryan Reynolds is and was comedic. That didn't carry the last GL flick for sure.

They really don't need to synthesize artificial humor for these movies. What they need to do is not make pictures that suck. There's already a successful roadmap that's been developing since the inception of these characters, why deviate to such a degree that the material becomes unpalatable and cheesy?

Probably because Lethal Weapon needs to be rebooted and for no other reason. Why else would be seeing a mediocre television version emerge and now talk of this infecting the DC movies?

  4. One failed GL movie already. Now they're recycling Lethal Weapon....cause we can NEVER have enough buddy cop flicks. Especially ones where someone plays the straight "by the book" cop and the other is the "unpredictable" officer that doesn't play by the same rules.

There is SO MUCH SOURCE MATERIAL to play with. There are SO MANY GOOD STORIES, and an ALREADY DEVELOPED natural interaction between these well established characters.

Why screw it up with least common denominator fluff?

  5. I wonder if Warner Bros. would have been better off keeping the Nolan brothers more heavily involved after the success of their Batman trilogy?

Not like they had a choice since Nolan didn't want the job. I'm sure the only reason he agreed to produce Man of Steel was to keep Warner Brother happy enough to keep funding his very expensive projects.

I recall reading the same sentiment....Nolan pretty much mess on the whole DCEU.

He wanted to keep his trilogy separate and distinct.

  6. Well, it's not like we DON'T have a reason to be concerned. I liked some aspects of BvS, liked SS a bit more.....but neither blew me away.

I've been waiting most of my life for these characters to be realized on screen in the way that DC and Marvel have attempted to do. So far, Marvel has faired better.....and I'm not really one of those Marvel fanboys.

DC has been floundering and has had many birth pains regarding these movies IMO.

I know that's the case, because I'm a huge fan of practically everything they produce for television and straight to DVD. They really knock it right out of the park. With the exception of the Killing Joke (which was controversial to say the least), they really know what they're doing.

Supergirl, Flash, LoT, Green Arrow, Constantine, Lucifer, etc....all well done. Not all direct translations of the source material either, but nonetheless, well done.

What DC/WB really should do is evaluate who the fans respect and who has produced what the fans have wanted. Then they should put those folks in charge of everything else.

Geoff is a good first pick, but there are definitely others that should be in the loop (Dini and Timm are two for certain).

  7. Should Chip be on both lists or is that just an oversight?

I don't think so. HOS supersedes PL list. I don't think I've ever seen the same name on both.

The difference in a sense is that the HoS is all about Chip, but the PL is about Chip and the members who have outstanding transactions with Chip, and they still have a right to maintain their PL nominations if they wish. Since Chip has completed some transactions in recent days, some might still hope to get their books, for example.

I am sure he'll get around to it when he's done giving toy and collectible advice to potential estate sale buyers.

I cringed when I saw his post. I'd think laying low for awhile after getting voted into the HOS would be prudent.

His post didn't bother me, it was a helpful post. The point of the HOS is to warn boardies of bad buyers or sellers, not to silence them.

Agreed. HOS membership does not mean he can't still be a participating member of the boards. It just means people should be wary of transacting with him.

Can't we just put a scarlet "A" on his avatar or something?

  8. Matt Ryan's CONSTANTINE Is Finally Returning To Television...As An Animated Series On CW Seed

    7CucVA5.png

The CW has confirmed today that Matt Ryan will reprise the role in six or seven ten minute episodes; that's only equivalent to one and a half regular forty minute instalments, but still exciting news for fans.

DC TV regular Greg Berlanti is producing the show, and he'll be joined by the live-action version's co-creator and executive producer David S. Goyer. Apparently, there are no current plans for Ryan to reprise the role on television, but The CW President Mark Pedowitz said at the TCA Winter Press Tour today that they would like to see him back as his first appearance "added dimension" to Arrow.

    :o

    :whee:

    It's a start!

  9. So, a post that actually has something factual to say about Chip and his dealings gets no response whilst the tit for tat one-upmanship posts rattle on.

This is why I stopped posting on the boards after a brief spell trying to get people interested in comic related discussion points (see “Re: How does having the last post in a thread make you feel?” for my less than subtle goodbye).

I joined the boards because I had a lot to say about comics, having been a collector with a variant focus for many years. After an initially encouraging start – I got some good responses to my Pence Summary and Font Variant threads – both posts fizzled out despite my attempts to prompt further debate. Bottom line, no one was really interested.

So I posted away in other threads, adding pictures and additional knowledge and was more or less ignored by the ‘regulars’ of those threads. My attempt to establish whether Marvel 1999 price variants exist re-ignited a fight between two board members, so I knocked that one on the head.

The boards feel like a private party sometimes and you’re not invited because, God forbid, you might know something that the ‘regulars’ don’t. And we couldn’t have that could we.

Because I’m a human being, with all the frailties that brings, I checked the boards for a while to see if anyone would notice I’d gone. They didn’t of course, but I did start to follow posts like this one about Chip while I looked. And I started to feel quite depressed. What a rotten thread this is.

I can’t for the life of me think why otherwise intelligent, busy people would want to spend so long on here arguing over and over again about the same points. The desire to land the ‘killer’ blow in a thread and be seen as the moral conscience is clearly so important to some members it’s nauseating. They must go to bed thinking about it, wake up thinking about it and spend their day thinking about it.

The best post in this whole rotten thread was “can we just DROP the mental health thing?” from Porcupine48 who, I’m guessing, would rather not have had to post it. And here I am coming out of self-enforced exile to add to the dross. Why am I bothering?!

But here’s one difference – I will not post on these boards again, regardless of what responses come. I know that most will be scathing and I’ll likely be accused of being flouncy and a prima donna. Someone will spot something in the post that allows them to post a funny cutting one liner response, and that will be followed by smiley-winking-clapping face emoticons.

Probably no one will say “You know, the guys got a point” and let it stand.

I’m off to live my life. However dull it is, I need to find something better to do than post here.

To the few good people on the boards who offered a little support, and avoid these rotten posts – like I should have – thank you.

Not to derail this point here, but I'm wondering how you get that soap box all the way up there on top of that high horse?

  10. Wonder Woman Steals Her Weapon In Brand New Movie Photo

    lm0d4rE.jpg

Wonder Woman is gearing up for an April 2017 release, and EW has just unvieled a brand new photo from the upcoming movie. Gal Gadot, who portrays Wonder Woman in the film, is seen stealing her famed "godkiller" sword from the Themyscira armory.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Wonder Woman is going against everything she knows to take the weapon.

"There is a point in any good origin story where the hero has to make the decision to step out on her own, forge her own path, and fight for what’s right. For Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), her moment comes when she disobeys her mother, Queen Hippolyta (Connie Nielsen); breaks into the heavily guarded armory on her idyllic all-female island of Themyscira; and — as seen in the exclusive image above — steals the Amazon’s mythical sword, the “god killer,” before heading to Europe to help save humanity."

    Looks good (thumbs u

    sure does look good!

She can handle my sword any day!!!! :)
