  1. Sterling, it's nice to see those books in the proper thread. Nice books, buddy.
  2. YELLOWJACKET springs to mind ASAP, I'll have to get back to you on the particular issue, but I believe the story even had a "witch" narrator.
  3. It is pretty underappreciated, IMO. What's the interior art like? Any nice Lou Cameron art? YES! The lead story is a NICE Cameron piece!
  4. I think this one is right up there among the better covers of the run...#20.
  5. "USED IN N.Y. LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE" - OSG (Reprints CHALLENGE OF THE UNKNOWN #6 )
  6. Apparently he knew a model who thought it was funny to be chased by a giant carnival monster! Seriously, there's info about him at Jerry Bails' Who's Who: John Chilly CHILLY, JOHN Name and vital stats CHILLY, JOHN [1921- ] (artist; writer) Education New York University Parson's School of Design Influences Alex Raymond; Roy Crane; Milt Caniff Print Media (non-comics) Art Director: 1968-69 Motion Picture Magazine > 68 69 Art Director: 1973-74 Belmont / Tower Paperback Division > 73 74 Artist: Paperbacks: Chemistry; Science Made Easy; Dell Paperbacks Artist: Penciler on 2-min. 7. Other than this being credited as his first cover art, does anyone know ANYTHING about John Chilly???!!!
  8. Cool cover. Here's # 7 - NICE COPY! Here's mine! ( Dag Gone Ace books- so easy to get out of order without issue numbers on the front! )
  9. Giant werewolf? Look at the size of him! Talk about a bad cover!
  10. It would be interesting to know when the first official "Bigfoot" reports (barring traditional Sasquatch folklore, etc.) came out of the Pacific NW and if this cover (#15, btw) pre-dates those, or was possibly influenced by them.
  11. Ghastly Graham was by far the best, IMO, EC horror cover artist.
  12. The thing is, "Dead who Walk" I think is dated March '52, while this WOM is dated May '52. Both feature dead walking in a line, although in different manners. The WOM certainly has a Lugosi "White Zombie" vibe to it. I wonder if Ace was influenced on this one, or mere coincindence.
  13. WOM 9. The Undead Who Walk...pretty similar in name to The Dead Who Walk, wouldn't you agree?
  14. That is a great piece! I was checking it out myself, but the fundage is a wee tight right now.
  15. Great stuff! I was not very familiar with Anderson, so after a little research I've come to the conclusion that you are onto something.
  16. Indeed they are! Mine is a play on the old Ohio Board of Tourism slogan: "Ohio: the Heart of it All." I thought that "Ohio: The Heart of Horror" would be a stretch. It's not THAT scary here.
