  1. If people are confused that GPA doesn't at least reflect part of the market then there definitely is a problem out there. If a buyer cares to ask how I priced a book they might get to hear that I'm using my historical data, GPA and a small sample of competitor data. But when there is no GPA sales data you have to actually do some work and price the book out using the Overstreet price guide and your brain. You know, that thing that sits in your head. The other thing to consider when you are selling a book is do you want a museum piece or a sale.
  2. Don't forget to hit the SUBSCRIBE button cause I WANNA GET PAID by the mysterious Youtube algorithims
  3. The new Comics News network - Exploding Spectacular Profits Network Hosted by Skip Careless and Shannon Shockley
  4. HYPE - Hope you paid enough baby !!!! Too bad C-Span is taken, Comic-Span around the clock news on the exploding comic market. Be there or be square. Better yet there is now a new disease spreading through the market - Comicism (Too much emphasis on price appreciation brings about feelings of delusional importance)
  5. More people, new warehouse, same issues LOL When does CGC actually hire an IT company that can actually do something right?
  6. Isn't there a podcast you can put all this market dynamics wisdom on? I mean why should we miss these golden nuggets of wisdom?
  7. Wow, first off I didn't know he moved to florida. Second I hadn't heard Dan passed away.
  8. Towards the end Dan's business model was buy a collection and auction it all on ebay. Which works well if you grade well and buy it cheap. Not exactly sure about Dan's grading well part of the equation. At one time Showcase New England was a very large competitor in the collection market. Now I'm not even sure if he is still on ebay.
  9. You would have to take the book out of the comic bag to know it was restored. Something Dan didn't feel warranted his time.
  10. Interesting that Dan would say that and sell Doug Schmell the Winnipeg bronze age portion of the collection for a song.
  11. Nothing like a good chart to support pricing. Always works when I whip out a chart to a buyer of one of my books. How about that May 6th - 13th chart. Imagine if I sold the book at $700 and the guy looked a week later to see it selling for $300.
  12. No. Dan also spent the most money buying collections if I remember.
  13. NWOcomics will still be playing golf in the afternoon, sending us pictures looking over the water, buying and selling copper and lecturing the boards on what you should have done. Oh wait, what's different from now?
  14. Why follow the rules? We have a 0% seller fee platform where they don't do that now.
  15. They make money on volume. Works great if all the inventory is yours.
  16. Fast track to get you to what turnaround times should be in the first place. Greatest marketing idea of all time. CGC should just advertise We do it faster at doing it slower.
  17. Why is a PGX book even being discussed on the CGC forum boards? Shouldn't this be discussed on the PGX forum boards? Oh wait, do they even exist?
  18. Jeff/Charles Dad passed away Wednesday, May 5th.
  19. Have you committed your own money to bitcoin? If not this is basically "Here is some advice I am not doing myself" I'd love those who suggest things like this to ask your wife if it is ok to dabble with "some" of your retirement fund into Bitcoin.
  20. John is full time, a full time comic bum who posts every once in awhile and spending his afternoons playing golf. .
  21. If Movie's have been announced they are already in. Be ahead of the crowd, not following it.
  22. Of course, pop them through the toaster, press them up, post them and come back throwing $20's to everyone. Get those attaboys in the copper forum, add them to the "What's hot on ebay" and Thor 339's start coming out of the woodwork. The Dealer Happy meal budget is increased to Chik Fil A across the board.
