  1. Almost every WTB ad states a title/number so the " I want a beer" response might be the useless part of this post. If laziness and idocracy in society is your new calling by all means start a Motivational company. www.roydeliccultofpersonality.com I think is available
  2. Since my last post didn't really clarify the idea that a free buying and selling site shouldn't be expected to go out of its way to "force" compliance let me say this. Is it really inconvenient to message a buyer? Post a response asking for some more information? Are we that important and busy? Is it a BIG waste of time to do that? Versus going to a show, setting up, expenses, etc, digging through sellers boxes looking for stuff I need. Based on time I spend looking for books WTB ads save me a lot of time regardless of the listing. If a WTB response results in a sale that is a Big win for me since I got a new source, got a book I need and possibly a new lead down the line. Maybe you one finger typing wonders should learn how to type. Takes me seconds to type up a response, even faster when its a insult
  3. Amazing that a website that is technically FREE when it comes to buying and selling would have to implement anything. Slap a charge on those buyers and sellers and you are welcome to push for more "moderation"
  4. Technically if a poster is complaining that the asking price is too expensive that would be considered thread crapping which I believe is already covered in the rules. Or should I assume because Ebay is in the comment that the item is 25% overgraded?
  5. If you want to know what Thor issues are common look at the old Mile high ads in the 80's listing the MH 2 collection. Which is where the Thor #156 in 10.0 came from
  6. Face it, this is a time of "instant gratification". Those of you paying fast track have been trained to pay because you want it faster. You may complain about turn around times but every time you pay that extra 50% fee you are just encouraging CGC not to improve turn around times.
  7. Thor issues are primarily warehouse print runs versus Journey into Mystery.
  8. ? Venture capitalists tend to push the revenue side so that they can take the firm public. Which by raising prices you are doing.
  9. Pgex steak is more like Beyond meat. It may taste like meat but god knows what plant was smoked to make it (If you get the joke you are a winner if you've ever met PGX)
  10. 20 years later and multiple price increases later we are all complaining about the same thing. At some point a price point is reached that results in lower submissions or as NWO stated the only people making money are the Shipping companies, CCS, CGC and the selling venue (Which is true, the true money makers are the toll collectors). The vast tales of "riches" being made to me are always a bit skeptical since I question do people really know the true profit they are making on the book? Time is money you know. Lugging books to shows, setting up is money you know. If you aren't doing a Raw versus Slab comparison of your slabs I'm not sure you are seeing the true picture. When you submit grade them/price them and reasonably estimate what the books will sell for. When you do finally get them back, price them up and estimate what the books will sell for. Remember to deduct the cost of getting them graded. If those graded numbers aren't very positive it isn't/wasn't worth getting them graded. If that trend is going downward from previous estimates grading isn't making you money, it is costing you money. Waiting 6-8 months to recoup your grading investment impacts cash flow. That is money that is not working because CGC is technically holding it. I can turn over a lot of books in 6-8 months so that time factor can be very substantial Don't use the home run book versus the 24 other losers method either. To this day that is still a central theme I see in Auction posts from sellers. Yeah I made a lot of money on one book, lost on every other.
  11. Wherever a price differential/dollar can be made there will be those that will exploit it.
  12. I wonder how CGC accounting would like if I sent in payment on a check with invisible ink? Lets see how long that grading of invisible comics lasts
  13. Naturally GPA is the only data source. I sold multiple 6.5's in 2018 for $35K. I sold 6.5's for $33K back in 2017.
  14. 3 years ago it was a $35K book. You snooze you lose. WaaWaa train left the station hours ago.
  15. Well the One big win might make you think that you made money but imagine if you just gave the Big book to heritage and the "common's" to the consignment site. Then you might win across the board. Very few consignor's look at this as an option because they don't plan ahead. Consignor's are attracted to the advance and the instant gratification of knowing it is all sold. And if the auction house doesn't meet your expectations do they care? Not really, you probably don't have any more books to sell. And was the "Big win" actually won by bidders or are you just getting the SSW - Seller Shenanigans Win.
  16. Listen, I sold my personal copy of Hulk #1 9.0 for $30K. Yes I made money but life moves on. Regrets would be selling the Hulk #181 9.4 for a loss.
  17. So now the "buyer perception" has swung from "highly suspect Auction houses" to "dealer sales are more realistic"? Show me the "money" has become the end of 2021 Comic selling theme. We pay the highest might get replaced by "We pay the highest for our own material"
  18. Can't wait for the consignments of Hulk #1's after these sales. Fact or fiction?
  19. Thank you for thinking of me but I will be benefiting the UK Community the date of this show Bob www.highgradecomics.com
  20. Please don't make it too difficult. If the sales threads had a button/check box I could click and hide. Imagine if the CGC IT department was innovative. Add a sort order so sales threads you are interested in stay at the top instead of you wasting time searching for it.
  21. I vote for a delete/hide button so I can delete/hide the useless sales threads. Then it wouldn't matter how combined they were.
  22. Try using the codeword Cheap
  23. Not sure why this is a big deal since I send customers tracking #'s. However, I'm not sure if paypal is updating their website so that you have to put the tracking # in the payment from the customer. Normally If there is a dispute the first thing you usually send are the tracking #'s.
  24. Paypal owns Venmo so what is the difference?
