  1. There is something to be said when you have to nominate yourself on a "Favorite Online Seller thread".
  2. Nothing like reality tv to give me a good sense of a seller. You do know Pawn Stars is fake, right?
  3. I have that Bolland print on my wall. Great great gallery of villains page
  4. The thrill is gone after reading this post
  5. Please be careful this time of year. He is emailing me today asking why his account is closed. Below customer tried to buy something from me in 2019. Could not provide one reference on who else he bought from. All he had was cc details. Montreal is one area where I will not ship to or do business with customers there unless I know them or they provide ironclad references. Most of them will pay full price, 1st time order. Always around this time of year. Want the item shipped quickly, 30-45 days you get a charge back from the issuing bank that the cc was stolen or fraudulent. 6. My point was do you know what the building is worth as a 3 apartment/storefront layout. I don't care if the area isn't zoned for that. That would be the buyers problem. But if I knew the overall value I would be able to figure if the offer was fair.
  7. Of the 3 FEDEX has always been the worst. With UPS at least I know the drivers. FEDEX is one company where frankly I have NEVER known my driver. They have no interest in developing one but hey they save me tipping them at the holidays. This is the season where tipping is pretty common. Why you decide to provide the worst service at this time makes NO sense to me.
  8. This is where having a large customer base that you have relationships come in. To make a better decision I would call one of my contractor business friends and go over his proposal/cost/value estimate. Compare to the offer and I would then know if the offer was fair or not. Sometimes you need another opinion to see the things that a property can become versus just what is in front of you.
  9. All 3 are slow and having just seeing the clerk at UPS that took my box marked fragile and toss it he is lucky I packed securely. I am not sure if people don't realize that the shipping companies are almost just as burnt out as emergency responders. It has been christmas since March with all carriers experiencing more online ordering.
  10. They have been saying it since the 70's.
  11. Shouldn't you be on the golf course in florida?
  12. So was this a "poor me" thread or "Pour me a scotch?"
  13. So many different things I could comment about in this thread. I wouldn't say that I get a "thrill" from comics. I love what I do. I love the art of the deal, the art of the sale. I take pride in my business and how I conduct it. I constantly strive to learn and to create change. I am constantly striving to implement new ideas into my business. I miss the shows but I still try to make efforts into creating relationships outside of just selling someone books. For the one that may make you question why you do this there are 99 others that you actually enjoy dealing with. I have hobbies outside of just comics. I don't just rely on information from just the internet. If the "thrill" is gone sometimes a break is needed. If you are only doing it as a job and you hate it maybe it is time to move on. Covid 19 has created a situation where you implement or you don't. If you are not bringing any money in based on a store only business model well maybe the model is wrong. I'm going fishing this morning. I actually enjoy it. I watch stupid fishing video's. I have something new to learn how to do.
  14. Common keys man, you should have wanted to "Move em"
  15. Isn't it hard to walk away if you are at your table selling? I generally find there is a bit of awkward silence, I basically take the stack and start putting them back on the wall. I prefer the "lean in" guy who asks me if I want to "move them" followed by the lowball offer. I then "move them" back onto the wall
  16. Interesting, my new "customer pickup location" is Starbucks. Support the local business, grab a seat, show comics/swap niceties and leave with a cup of coffee.
  17. Thank you, I emailed CGC advertising to see if it loads properly.
  18. Yes this is new. Is the Deal in Spin-a-deal not showing up? Bob
