I've had a few users claim ignorance of "committing" so we "beefed up" the best we could on the spin feature. Again, we never force the user into that choice on that features popup, they can always make an offer instead. I can count on two hands users that have "backed up". They are nicely "backed out" of my database as well.

First off you are not clicking the link and spinning right away. You are brought to the book. Spinning is not the only option, you are also welcome to make an offer. Before you spin a pop up comes up stating you are committing to buy the book. So it is not a GUI problem. Anytime I get emails like this comes down to somebody wanting to "play the game" or "Try it out".
-
He is mad about the disclaimer that if you are spinning the wheel you are committing to buy the book. At least he read it.

Third party books are not eligible for Spin-a-Deal.

Would just like to "vent" a little about one of my morning emails. New registered user on the website. Obviously tries out Spin-a-deal and sends me this. Now I don't believe that Action #218 is junk but ok. At least he did see the disclaimer. Nothing else to do in your life but waste my time? I do not wan this book. This is a scam to get rid of your junk books. Nice try putting the disclaimer on the bottom of the page, but I will not be purchasing this book. We're writing to confirm your Spin-a-Deal purchase in the amount of $315 for Action Comics #218 (CGC 7.5, Offwhite/white pages, tiny C written on front cover in pen, very light 5 24 written on back cover in pencil). If the book you've won is from a third-party consignor, a notification e-mail has been sent to the seller. If the book is from our inventory, please note that there is always a small chance that the book may have been sold since our last web site update. If this happens, we will let you know as soon as possible, and do our best to find similar items if we can. In either case, you will receive payment instructions from us as soon as we have confirmation that the book is in our possession. Update - I was contacted by the buyer who said he was serious about buying the book, his bank required 5 days to clear the check/deposit and even sent me a picture of a check made out to him in Canadian funds. He asked if I would be willing to wait until 2/28/2022. While this was an interesting email I am not interested in waiting until the 28th since I have no idea if the check is good or that it was even deposited. This message also occurred 3 days after buying the book, 1 day before I could cancel the transaction. Maybe this is a legit buyer but part of me also thinks that the buyer should have done all of this before buying the book from me. The sale has been cancelled and back up for sale on Ebay.

Small hand, just one book?
-
If anyone is getting excited about my 1.0 selling on Ebay please be aware that this was a 0 rated buyer who paid full price from Canada. I am NOT optimistic I will get paid. If I do then I will confirm that. But until then I would hold off the "new high".

Roy has become a political activist. Running with the truckers I hear at the protests selling shirts and burrito's. Calls himself System of a protest man. -
Listen, very simple rule, if you reach for tissue, its a grading issue

I guess you missed the CGC memo If you see a "Ti##ie", no submittee If your hang is too long, don't send along God, I kill myself
-
If "feelings" translate into somebody paying more for a book whether it be page quality, eye appeal etc that is just wonderful. Just be hopeful that when it comes time to sell the book that there is another person with that "feeling" that shares your opinion and "pays up".

Is CGC trying to lose their dealers as well?
blazingbob replied to Iceman399's topic in Comics General
Much like their announcement I just got the letter yesterday. First off, waste of paper, postage and money. I'm still waiting to see what I'm getting for my $199 -
No, what is better is they give it back, you show it to the person and they buy it with the other person right there. I love the "I'll think about it buyer". They come to the booth later that day asking to see the book they looked at earlier and its been sold. Smile a little smile.

Bad taste comments are generally "Are you going to buy that" or "Can I see it".
-
Man, what a great copy. Who would sell a book like that
-
Are prices still climbing or have they eased up a bit???
blazingbob replied to InfantTerrible's topic in Comics General
It is very explainable. As each copy is sold the level of buyer may increase or decrease depending on the book being chased. A buyers become replaced by B buyers, B's by C etc. Each level of buyer has a "price point". Timing of purchase may also play a part since those Christmas credit card bills are starting to come in. You see this when sellers are looking for the underbidders on certain books. Obviously they have a copy and would even sell at the underbidder offer
