  1. :roflmao: At least you can use the sauna now.

    :whee:

We all have our crosses to bear.I can't seem to get into that damn F.F.#1 club! :pullhair:

A wad of sweaty bills should get you there. At least you have an AF 15. I never really thought I'd try to acquire one (Hulk was always my favorite, Spidey's pretty far down the list), but I've recently been hm But $7 grand + for a 2ish copy? I'll probably end up getting an FF1 first. Sheesh.

Most likely it'll be Showcase 22 or BB 28 next for me in the near future, though.

  2. This thread is brutal. Hope you feel better, Manicnerd. :foryou:

Seriously, why do you keep coming back? (shrug)

To voice an opinion. This IS in CG, is it not? And perhaps more importantly, to wish a fellow boardie luck in his battle.

Why single me out? It was a tiny post in a sea of noise.

  3. Because when I see someone TAKE from this community in a time of need and not really intend to GIVE back it makes me want to  .

THAT is why I do it.

You shouldn't take it upon yourself to speak for the community. If you gave to help him out, you have more of an argument though I still would think it in bad form.

He doesn't speak for the community but he does speak for this thread because he started it, put the effort into policing it, spent hours crafting rules to keep people from taking advantage and made some decisions in the best interest of the thread that were potentially unpopular. Harvey has the gonads to call a spade a spade and he hasn't backed down in the face of opposition.

Those instances of board charity didn't happen in this thread. In fact, they had nothing to do with this thread. Harvey can speak out on subpar offers in the context of this thread as he is the thread moderator. I may not agree with those methods either, but that would be termed 'speaking for the thread.' But, hopefully, the people involved in helping others wouldn't want their goodwill used as leverage against the recipient. That's all I will have to say on this. I did not like this tactic at all.

  5. …now I get it. I was confused when everyone kept suggesting that I combine the offers…

I AM pulling from Amazon. I do not actually own any of those items. But before everyone gets up in arms about that, again keep in mind that that buying those items still hurts. I do not have $50 to just spend willy-nilly, but I wanted to. Just because I did not own them does not mean they are any less of an offer.

That's why I could not combine them. I really did not have more than $50 to spend.

And you see nothing wrong with this? Didn't this same community just show you an outpouring of support and charity for your cat?! (shrug)

How could claiming a very generous offer of an ASM #50 and drop shipping something very minimal from Amazon be viewed as "giving back"?

Why do you insist on throwing instances of receiving charity back in peoples' faces? This is the second time you've done it, and I think it's in extremely poor taste.
