I have commissioned many artists and have only ever had one or two problems, both of which were relatively minor problems. But heres my two cents anyways:
Being able to draw and create art is a skill that, for the most part, you can hone without being a business owner. Because of this, many artists will develop this ability to create something of value without knowing how to run a business or market themselves properly. This can lead to all sorts of problems because, quite frankly, many people aren't cut out to run their own business.

For sale is an original art page from Uncanny Avengers I purchased directly from Steve McNiven at Emerald City a few years ago. This is from the Ragnarok story arc where Thor is battling the Apocalypse Twins single handed.
It has been signed by Steve, Jay and Rick Remender. Asking $250 plus shipping.

What's amazing about the issue 1 cover is that it has just as detailed of a background and floor, and far more feet, than your average Liefeld cover.

Yeah, the unverified sig and the few dings might make it a book someone would rather by raw.

I've noticed something after looking at dozens of copies of this issue. Has anyone noticed or discussed this before? On like a third to half of the books I've seen, no matter what the grade, just to the right of the black box Punisher logo, at the edge of the book, there is a dark brownish spot on the yellow cover. It's always in about the same spot, same color and about the same size. Anyone know what this is? Is it something from the interior cover? A manufacturing issue?

I've been collecting X-Men for a while now and have nearly put a complete run of volume 1 (1-544) together. I'm planning on potentially liquidating it though and just collecting key silver age issues, which has brought me back to my primary comic when I was reading as a child, Spiderman. Most of the silver age keys I can otherwise think to collect are Amazing Spiderman issues.
I'm planning on keeping my X-Men 1 and Giant Size, but I believe the rest of my X-Men collection could net me somewhere around $10,000. So I'm trying to decide what to go after.
I was looking at getting high grade copies of perhaps 39, 50 and maybe a lower issues first appearance, like 14. Given I'm rather a novice to ASM collecting, what are your thoughts on key, fun issues that are also good investments? For my silver age X-Men books, I was usually aiming for between 7.0 and 8.0. Thought I might go a bit higher for ASM, is that necessary do you think?
The other question I've been pondering, is do I sell everything, INCLUDING my X-Men 1 and Giant Size, and go for a low grade Amazing Fantasy 15. I think I could raise about 20,000 for that.
Of course, my biggest concern in all this is once I start buying ASM, I may not be able to stop. -

Who are all these people after Liefeld's autograph? Weren't his two most popular creations made popular by other writers and artists?

Selling off the last bits and pieces of my Uncanny collection and these are some of the last parts.
Feel free to PM for more info or questions, first "I'll take it" gets it. Will accept Paypal, money orders, checks. Shipping is included within the US. If international, please contact me first so we can discuss shipping.
For sale is 27 of the issues in the incredible John Byrne run of Uncanny X-Men. This was the greatest era of X-Men issues and features most of the bronze age keys. Here is a list of the issues, their grade that I have given them after review, and any special appearances involved. Grading is subjective, but I tend to be fairly conservative with my grades. Closer photos can be hand upon request.
I would like to keep this as a group but would entertain offers for pieces. Asking $725 for the whole lot.
I forgot to put issue 108 in the photos, but I assure you it is in there.
