For sale here is a meticulously collected run of Uncanny X-Men volume 3. All of these issues are VF to NM+ with the vast majority in the NM or higher realm. The two Alex Ross variants are beautiful.

Anyone been reading this yet? I've read the first three via their email list and have been diligently collecting the multiple variants they're publishing. It's a pretty great horror comic that feels different than the rest of whats out there. It really took off when issue was was released, selling out and demanding high prices online. It's since come down but the variants are apparently selling for some crazy money here and there

Yeah, in my box I got 13 blanks and 12 regulars. 

There is a hardcover of the first trade. It's a tour exclusive. As well as a tour t-shirt. They're giving away Curse Words stickers and bookmarks as well.

Thats probably pretty true. I noticed the virgin art covers, even the color ones, aren't popping up very often. Must be far more sought after. I just would have thought that at least for a few of the more popular and collected series, the blanks would have been more highly coveted. 

Has anyone else started to question whether or not Image was not completely honest with how rare the blank covers were in the blind box? Or perhaps they misstated it? According to the information they gave, there should have only been 50 blank covers for each series. But looking on whats available and whats been sold on Ebay, you'd think nearly all of the ones made were on Ebay and no one was actually keeping any. Is this feasible? For example, I was looking at Extremity the other day, and I think I counted between 30 and 40 that were either available or recently sold on Ebay.

I think people WAY overestimated the value of these original art pieces. The prices are still way too high on most of them as many are simply not selling.

This is done with paints on an 8x10 canvas.

Looks like you got all 17 regular color variants and 8 of the regular B&W variants. Not bad for 175.

I've only seen a few on ebay. I'm sure the vast majority of people who are getting them are getting them graded. That's why we've probably seen so few. 

I would bet money and almost guarantee that Charlie got several comp copies to do with what he pleases. The artists always get them earlier, sometimes much earlier, than the market does. So long as he didn't sell them prior to release date, there is no problem. I also assume he has some pretty great pull at Image because of the book he works on, earning him more comp copies than most artists get. 

So yes there are probably like 510 to 520 copies of this book in existence, but only 500 put to market in the blind boxes.

This is just what I've been seeing. The only outliers might be the Donny Cates series. 

Another note on original art, some of them are incredible. The Paklis ones imparticular have all looked amazing and even include some color it appears. But some of the original art sketches have left a lot wanting or even been incredibly lazy. For example: see the photos. I love Jonathan's books and there is no problem with the sketches taken individually. But to make more than one almost identical?

Yeah, I would guess for the more popular series, the prices will settle around this:

Regular color variants: 5 - 10

Regular B&W variants: 10 - 15

Virgin color variants: 20 - 30

Virgin B&W variants: 30 - 60

Blanks - who knows

I got a box from my LCS for 250. I am collecting Curse Words and Extremity and was hoping to luck into pulling some rare ones of those, or at least flip what I did get to buy those individually.

I ended up getting 12 regular color variants and 13 blank covers, which was super odd. No Extremity at all. I got a Curse Words color and a Curse Words blank. That's unfortunately all I'm ending up keeping. Luckily those blanks were worth enough to easily recoup my money and be able to buy some individuals of what I wanted. But I have seen some boxes where people only get the regular and B&W variants. That wouldn't be worth the cost. Of course if you pulled one original piece of art or a Here's Negan, then that's worth it all by itself.

Sales on the individual comics look to be steep too depending on which ones. I'm torn. Need some help..

Hard to say. The values on the less rare comics will come down in terms of online sales. The thing to remember is that there are a little under 2,000 of each of the regular color variants. That itself may be as many as a tenth to half of how many regular issues of that comic are sold every month. So there may be more variants of some series than the market can handle. 

But the rarity increases significantly from there. The B&W variants only have about 500 of each series. The color virgin variants only about 300. The B&W virgin variants only about 100. The blank covers only 50, and the sketches only 25. 

I'm thinking the only ones that are worth pursuing individually are the virgin variants and blanks. Those are the ones that may be truly too limited to obtain after collectors clear them out. But again, it depends on what series you're collecting. A comic that regularly sells 8,000 to 15,000 issues a month will be much more collectible because there are way more people out there buying it. But a series that only sells 3,000 to 5,000, and on the verge of cancellation, probably won't be difficult to find at all. 

As a final thought, I will note that I've been watching ebay the past few days and generally the rarest stuff is still WAY over priced. If you search Image blind box on ebay you'll get nearly 1,200 active listings. And you'll find less than 300 sold listings. Prices will come down when people aren't able to sell things after a week or two. But where will that price even out? Who knows. The original art is what I'm most curious about. Some of the art is great from unpopular comics. Some of the popular comics have really bad original art pieces. So prices will probably end up all over the place.
