I've been a bit curious of this myself. But from other existing data I think we can figure out a fair price.
9.6's of the #1 incentive variant recently sold for 1,200. Which is about half of what a 9.8 sells for these days.9.6's of the regular 1st print #1 seem to be selling between 200 and 250, about 100 or so less than a 9.8
It appears that 9.6's of the #19 variant have sold recently for between 100 to 220 depending on if they were signed or not. So I would say a safe bet for a value on a #19 variant 9.8 would be somewhere between 175 to 300, depending on signature or not. The prices on the ones available on ebay right now are insane and seem to be trying to cash in one the value of the #1 incentive variant. The #19 variant is rare, sure, but its still #19. There is nothing otherwise special about it.

Whoa... did anyone else see the blue label 9.8 sold for $3,000 on April 10?

Looks like the usual hi-jinx is going on with the new kickstarter campaign. Advertising limited edition numbered variant TPB and HC's of 500 each, and offering almost 600 of each in the reward tiers.
Maybe they're anticipating not selling all the copies during the campaign, but given how many copies of these other limited edition issues always seem to still be for sale from Comixtribe directly, it seems off to me.

I think @seanfingh was referencing these particular lines from the OP
"you may know me as..."
"Please see my instagram and for details"
I know. I posted the basics of the issue so people can discuss without going to instagram.

I think he's referencing Stan's appearance at the show. I saw several posts on Instagram from a variety of people, and it looks like Stan is miserable or "lost" in many many photos. The implication being, he is being taken advantage of and may not be there completely of his own choosing.

You may consider selling them in group on Ebay also. A big group of 100+ graded comics might be impossible to sell to all but one or two people. But you may be able to sell groups of say 10 comics in a row, like issues 101-110, in one group. You may also get a bit more value per book that way.

Just a heads up in case you were unawares, there is a new God Hates Astronauts book on Kickstarter right now with some great reward tiers, including original art. It's already been fully funded. If you have never read GHA, I would highly highly recommend it, and I would also highly recommend backing his Kickstarter. Pretty decent price.

I spoke to Kyle Strahm at a convention once, the initial artist and co-creator of Spread at Image, and he told me it costs like $500 or something like that to prepare the variant cover for manufacture, not including the cost of the comic itself. I don't know if thats true across the board, as this is just anecdotal evidence.

Ha, sounds like he has to that answer that question a lot. It's basically the same answer.
Yeah, its still a pretty big non-answer, but it seems more open than it used to. I used to hear that they were completely opposed to an adaptation.

You've talked about Saga as being almost unadaptable, where you and Fiona Staples are designing this story to be a challenge to bring to life outside of comics. Has your experience with Runaways, and the experience you're having with Michael on Y: The Last Man, changed your opinion at all on Saga and its ability to be adapted? Are TV and film even ready for a story of Saga's size and scale?
(Laughs.) You know, I still probably think not yet. But I wouldn't have imagined what was possible with Runaways now being possible 15 years ago … so, maybe in 15 years we will have caught up. I still think for now, I flatter myself to think Fiona and I are doing something that celebrates what only comics can do, which is the scope beyond a Hollywood blockbuster in terms of the visuals, but also a challenging grown-up story like you would get in a long-form TV drama. I think it's still very difficult, with what we're trying to say and do, for that to be done in film and television. I remain not completely opposed to it. But for me, it's so not the goal. I would rather just keep my head down and keep making a great comic book, then get out there and chase a great adaptation.

From March 28:

With Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s plans to adapt Invincible and a few reports of you writing a Silver Surfer movie, has anyone come to you recently and asked about doing an adaptation of Saga?
Vaughan: Pretty much every day for the last six years, yeah.If you had to pick a medium, which makes the most sense to you: a big budget film, a television adaptation or a mature animated series in the vein of Netflix’s Castlevania?
Vaughan: I know this is a buzzkill of an answer, but I’m grateful that Fiona and I don’thave to pick any of those. Our goal was always to make a great comic -- not a stepping stone to help us reach some other medium -- and I like to think our story is so immersive, not in spite of the fact that it’s just static words and pictures, but because of it. Our readers are our collaborators, and they’re the ones who work hard to make this story come alive in their imaginations. I guess Fiona and I are both open to the possibility of someone eventually persuading us why making a Saga show or movie or cartoon would make the story better, but it hasn’t happened yet. -

I believe so. Previous recorded sale for a blue label 9.8 was $2250. Currently the lowest priced copy on eBay is 4k for a 9.8 . Crazy that this one is still climbing with no movie or TV news or hype.
I know BKV has gone on record saying there won't be a TV or movie show due to the costs. However, if it ever happens. Watch out.
There was a very recent interview from BKV indicating they (he and Fiona) are both open to a show/movie/stage production of Saga, but they are basically just waiting for a proposal that impresses them and would do the book justice.

The Sink stories are great. They don’t have that many variants at all when compared to a ton of other books out right now. Plus, the only expensive issues have been that Brain Trust group and Comixtribe’s own convention exclusives. Pretty normal for convention exclusives with an extremely low print run to be $20-$30. Once again, really well written stories and good art.
Issue 1 has 12 different covers.

Not seeing anything over $10 except a store variant.
Those are the only variants available right now, the 25 and 35 dollar ones. The rest are standard store covers. But if youve been following this series from its beginning, you'd see what I'm talking about. That first issue, and second issue, prices were ridiculous. And the sheer amount of variants made costing 20, 25 or more, is ridiculous.

As I stated right above you, Comix Tribe is not selling expensive priced variants. They are store variants that are an organized buying group, creating a false market and driving up prices.
I would agree with you, except I've seen Comix Tribe pushing the variants for sale themselves at high prices. They've printed a LOT of variants. I think there has been at least 4 for each issue, and with issue 1 there was over 10.

To say Black Panther is less mainstream because of his number of solo titles is like saying Cyclops isn't a mainstream/staple hero either. It makes no sense. Only like 4 of the original Avengers ever had their own long solo history, and pretty much no other team character ever has.
-
Sink is good book, but Comixtribe has serious issues as a publisher, primarily gouging their collecting audience with overproduced and expensive variants. I've never seen such a small market comic with so many variants.
I hope for the creators sake that it moves over to Image or something similar. Focus on the story and art, and not on the money grab.

Is a 9.6 even worth what it costs to slab? That's the thing. Is this one of those books where only the 9.8's are worth anything? And everything else is garbage?
