Other than a pending sale of a Journey Into Mystery 83 CGC 7.0 from this morning, I have not sold on a sales thread on the boards for quite some time but have recently completed several four and five figure deals with board members and have several dealer references available.

  5. What do you guys think about the prices on Showcase recently?

There are a couple of very high recent sales with the 3.0 at 11k being the big jump for lower grade books. However, I don't see that as proof that a 3.0 is worth 11k again...its just one sale.

What do you think a 2.0 would be worth?

    Thanks

Copies from the other company have fetched surprisingly high prices. A 2.5 (looked like a CGC 2.0) from Borock's new company sold for $8750. And a 0.5 from the same company with a missing ad page went for close to $3700. It's hard to say $11k isn't the norm for a 3.0 depending on presentation etc. Not that many copies publicly change hands, after all. I would think a 2.0 could fetch anywhere from $8000-9000.

  6. People are neglecting to mention that this 7.0 actually presents very, very nicely for a 7.0 and the winning bidder likely paid an especially strong price for it because of the book's upgrade potential. I only wonder if the book would've sold for more if the seller were based in the US and not Singapore.

  7. Bought a nice slab from Val and it was shipped so quick it was as if I lived down the street from him and packed so securely it could've survived a blast from an atom bomb. Couldn't be happier and Val is a great guy to boot.

  8. Wonder why we don't see many high grade 9.4 and above doctor strange 169's for sale?

    I think it's a great cover.

Don't the fingers on Dr Strange's right hand look weird on the cover? Something going on with how fingers. Is that what magicians' fingers look like?

  9. I think this price seems fair. Especially with movie annoucements

My prediction is that we will see no more bids on this (although I hope I'm proven wrong).

GPA shows a 7.5 sold at $4063 this month and a 7.0 sold at $3227 this month so $3999 for a 7.0 seems a little suspicious to me.

Now, if they make a big Dr Strange announcement at SDCC then I can see the next jump in price.

It's a nice looking 7.0. Maybe the bidder is hoping to resub for an 8.0?

You're right, when I first looked at the comic in the auction I thought it looked undergraded. That's gotta be what the bidder is thinking.

Judging by the bidder's feedback amount, he looks to be a dealer.
