  1. Posted this in General awhile ago, but worth another look.
  2. I did not click on this thread for a few days on purpose. I let some 55 unread posts accrue. And it paid off. Now I am left with the feeling that I am actually more in awe of the condition of the books versus what the books actually are. One grows numb to it all like one does walking through a museum for 4 hours, too much to take it at once. From the little I know about paper and time I feel like I am looking at something that is not supposed to be. We have all seen these books before, we have all seen nice copies be it in person, or online. But I doubt so many of us have seen so many of these books in this condition... in one place. I don't know if more compliments need be handed out to BZ, or just our thanks. Ze-
  3. This is the text under the link to the marketplace. The mods expect us to police ourselves, which is exactly what we are doing. I guess you prefer that we protect or ignore scammers and deadbeats so that they can get away with it again and again? Sorry, not going to happen. "We do not monitor buys and sells. Please check out your buyer or seller before you commit to a transaction." Can we give you a custom title...Mr Reiterate? I am writing while you are posting. So is your Avatar from the Re Iterater, or Re Animator? Sorry it was there, it was easy.... I took it. But Andy is right imho, if there is a transaction gone sour I think it well within the best interest of everyone here to know what went down. If that means wading through pages of bickering to get a few usable bits of information then so be it. Aren't we used to that around here, if anything haven't we grown to expect it? Out the bad eggs, if the case has legs it will stand on it's own, all bickering aside. Ze-
  4. Now that is one amazing piece of architecture. Forget the door, you got most of what was inside once the kids passed through it. One of a kind story BZ, neat to see stuff like this come full circle. But still how cool would it have been to have that door. Oh well. Ze-
  5. That is so white it's not even funny. Ze-
  6. And a Green Arrow at that. I love how much slack there is in the bowstring, yet the bow is not bent. A really great cover. So simple, but still so much to look at. Small details like the push button light switch, and carpet detail with fringe. And a purple and turquoise room? what were they thinking? Sure is fun to log on and still be surprised by what is posted on this forum. Ze-
  7. I think this is as close as I will ever get to knowing what it must have been like to walk into a store back in the day and see all these books for sale. Cept now my 10 cents wont go very far. Terrific stuff BZ, if I was a kid trying to decide what book to buy, the Mandrake and DT covers just call out to me. Kenny
  8. I have always been fascinated by this cover. And while probably already talked about to death. Here goes. The first time I saw this cover I thought several things, " I sure hope the gun barrel isn't hot" then "WTF is wrong with that guys knuckles?" And , "Hey that cop looks like John Wayne." But alas the pattern on that green coat keeps me coming back. I love it. Great, great book. Ze-
  9. Did he/somebody write a "C" in the first e in Detective? And those reds are just flat out sick. Amazing Ze-
  10. BZ, after seeing the blinding colors your books still posses, it makes me wonder wtf it would have been like to gaze upon a whole wall of books back in the day. It must have been a sea of many colors. Amazing little collection ya got there! Hope your scanner bulb holds out awhile longer. Ze-
  11. Took the words right out of my mouth!!! Actually, I think I was more onto a "Sweet Jesus!" kinda thing. Close enough Wrong sir! I think this is worthy of the ever popular. Sweet, Tap Dancing Jesus! Ze-
  12. Absolutely OUTstanding, BZ. I have never seen anything like this in my life. Thanks, Ryan Any requests for next photo? Yeah, just take away the comics that lie on top of each stack, and shoot a pic of whats lies underneath Rinse and repeat till there are no more. We wanna see them all! Keep in mind, the guys commenting in this thread have seen it all. And you got them all going!, that in itself is priceless. Unbelievable kudos to you for sharing these with us. And please let us know when the 10 cents tours start. I will be first in line. Ze-/Kenny
  13. So I guess it would not be advisable for me to jump on that bed and roll around on the comics like my dog does while happily squirming around on her back, on the fresh grass in my backyard. What?? , don't tell me it doesn't sound like fun!
  14. Yo Jeff, Where is your CGC Award? Don't tell me you put that in the closet!! As far as the rest of the photos in this thread. I guess they are... ok, that is if you are into unbelievably cool, totally amazing collections of unique comic book related merchandise and memorabilia amassed over a lifetime. Other that that.. . Ze-
  15. What an unbelievably fun experience that must have been. Flessel sitting down online with a wireless laptop reading a tribute thread made about him. If you would have told him 40 years ago he would be doing that, he would have spit up his coffee. Thanks for sharing, and I will not rag on you too much about not having a camera..... too much. I suppose it will just have to remain in your minds eye. Ze-
  16. I forgot I even sent you that. I still have a box full of assorted cameras from my dads eastate. I will send you another digital one, they are not anything special, but they do work. Kenny
  17. I cannot express enough Kudos to Chromium. Long story short, I have sent out 2 sets of books to him..sent weeks apart and as of today.. neither has arrived yet. He has been unbelievably kind, and understanding. Thanks again Crom.. you are a true gentleman and serve as an example of how to behave when a transaction ends less then ideally. But this is not over yet..third time is a charm..right? Kenny
  18. For some reason this cover called out to me. So I bought it.
  19. What a nice Sunday morning buffet, everything from beyotch Slapping Bucky, Wee Males, to Swastika red hot pokers! Ze-
  20. Very sweet Young Men, always liked those covers. It looks undergraded, what's wrong with it? Ze-
  21. You have no idea, but belay your wife's fears about what she might perceive a "chat board" to be. That name just conjures up the wrong image. Tell her you are speaking with your peers and associates about a very serious matter involving paper ephemera, and historical documents. Then when she says "What?" Just tell her you are geeking out online talking comics! Ze-
  22. I think it is ok to show the books as long as you do not try and sell them here. If anything, just cover up the logo when you scan them. It is the COMICS we are looking at anyways, not that logo. My next question would be is I hope that you are confident their resto check was up to par. Hope the uploading and picture hosting is going ok for you. Look forward to seeing your collection. Ze-
  23. Welcome to the Boards.. my advice...run away now, before you get hooked. Otherwise you will be trapped here in this Online Bermuda Triangle along with the rest of us. btw, Nice books Ze-
