  1. Prompt payment was made by all, so how do I repay that?

You can BEGIN by gifting me an Eerie #1 1947??? grin.gif

::oh - for the record - I am not one of these customers Zeester is talking about. I just want an Eerie #1 1947! ::

Too bad there was not a Secret Santa thingy recently. I had that exact book sitting here with your name on it, but alas... you did not sign up.

One will never know what might have been...Sigh...sorry.gif

  2. I deserve an Anti Kudos. 893naughty-thumb.gif

Many of my earlier marketplace sales, and several Ebay auctions are beyond tardy in shipment.

Prompt payment was made by all, so how do I repay that?... by letting life snowball me and let the books sit. No excuses, I simply dropped the ball.

I apologize to anyone who is still waiting, most books safely went out tuesday, and the remaining books go out tomorrow. Wanted to come on and take my lumps accordingly, I was not aware how hard it was to ship out multiple comics transactions in a short time period during the holidays, with other assorted life issues monopolizing my time.

I was not even good at communicating to each buyer what was going on.

Dont'cha just hate sellers like me.... Christo_pull_hair.gif

  3. Ian, I recently posted a couple photos of my 1990's time capsule.

Why is everybody making such a fuss over your photos.

I see no difference between our collections.

OK.. so you have a couple more comics.

    Big deal.

J/K bro.. those photos are amazing. flowerred.gif

I have stared at them for quite awhile.

    A real treat.

  4. I got two....I either have them both or I gave one (of course) to Ze-man. Kenny, help grandpa remember.

    Red

Yeah.. you held one back for me.

But after I got to your house I was sidetracked by all those semi-sweet 100 pagers Greggy sent you.

I never even got to see the dang shirt...., or hit you up for mine.

Hey, as I recall you were supposed to wear it to the National!

893scratchchin-thumb.gif... memory fuzzy.. too many gimlets.

  5. Finally got a decent raw book off Ebay.

    DC Limited Collectors Edition #25

    Batman (NA cover)

Took a chance, bid and won the book.

Total price $9 ......shipped to my door.

    Shipping was cheap but safe.

The book is a solid 9.2 real sharp, unread beauty.

Was expecting a decent VG+/F copy.

I have wasted $10 so many times in my life I consider this $10 well spent. cloud9.gif

( I cannot escape the fact I have a thing for these oversize books)

Just had to share the luv with everyone here, since my wife just went... meh..(shrug) that's nice honey.

  6. Thanks. I might call for the graders notes on this, just curious why it didn't grade higher. I also realized it's the only copy of this book ever graded. Not super-surpised.... JO is not what you'd call a hot title, but other books around it in sequence have 7, 8 copies graded.

    Nice book... funny cover... tongue.gif

Is that top staple still attached?.. it looks to be recessed a bit at least. Might be what dropped it down?

  7. I was wondering if anyone here owns any Giclee prints of famous artwork?

They are for sale in many forms. The Canvas ones appear to look almost original.

Just curious if anyone owns any Comic related Giclees( or other types of artwork).. and what you think of them. I was recently looking at Neal Adams stuff for sale on his site and was amazed at the look of the printing process.

  8. I agree... the extra safety of a 2 mil/board combo in a 4 mil is priceless when you want to handle your books from time to time.

Sizing the the book to the bags is key though, especially 100 pagers Annuals, 80 pagers ect.. all need to be in larger sized bag/boards so not to pinch the edges too much.

Lotsa bagging options to be sure.. I think that is part of why we all collect books. We get to exercise/express our OCD tendencies in the way we store our stuff..

  9. Only a 9.2. frown.gif

Please tell me you mean.. it only got a 9.2 from CGC.. and you are sad.

Not that you mean.. yuk.. it is a 9.2 and I need to upgrade, and feel ashamed to own it.

    That is one sweet book.

No really.. that is an awesome WP SA book.

  10. Does this look like a GA or what? thumbsup2.gif

    det437.jpg

    Impressive haul Pov

I also enjoy looking for horror type covers, even though the book moght not really be horror book. But the material is horror themed. Like Detective #425, #434, 436 etc...

And yes.. I always thought that #437 looked GA all the way.. cept with a BA edge!

What once was old.. is new again..ehh?

Glad you cleaned up... sounds like you had fun hunting.

  11. As much as it pains me to admit this.

And I seriously doubt any of you know how stong the grip of a 15 month old baby can be.

Let me tell you.. it is like a vise.

There was a stack of Dracula Lives on my nightstand, and my Ellen somehow crossed the room, and grabbed the top copy in a matter of .5 seconds.. I am now the proud owner of a VERY crumpled Dracula Lives #4

The silver lining is, I let her read it after that.. and explained to her how to handle the book safely.

Not sure it all soaked in, but she did turn the pages with care as we read it. And pointed to any drawing that resembled a BAT.

So we sat on my bed and read Dracula Lives #4, wrinkles and all.

  12. Yes. All the date stamps on the Green Rivers I've seen are Tuesdays, at two week intervals.

Since all the books came from the same drugstore, and were ALL stamped, ( not just the GR books.but every book that the store sold). Is the only way then to verify a real GR book is to have the books bill of sale history? , or have a person attest to the books purchase/ origin? And compare it to the pdf list, see if it matches up with what was known to be an original GR book?

I am sure there are not that many HG comics from that store still floating around.. but you would think there would be a few. And would they not have the same tuesday RED date stamp placement also?

    Does that make sense?

This thread drives me nuts... so little to learn.. so much time.

    Wait

    Strike that.. reverse it.

It is great to see soo many nice books in one place. 893applaud-thumb.gif

I would love to see a forum room dedicated just for Pedigrees.. Sticky a name for each Pedigree at the top.. and anyone with a scan could make a post of whatever copies then own. And also all Pedigree related topics/questions could also be in one place, and not get lost in General.

    Now a bit Off topic...

    That DD #10

OK.. last night I watched on the Discovery Channel a special about NY City & Superheros.

They spent quite a few minutes on D.D.

Stan, Quesada, and others talked about all the now famous Marvel haunts... Hells kitchen, Times Sq. Bleeker St. Delancy St... etc.. and how NY has changed since then. It is not as dirty as it once was.

But back in the day it was what I consider classic NY city.. lots of concrete, steam, dark alleyways, crime everywhere. And all Stan could come up with was a Kitty Kat , a Gorilla man, and a Dove/Pigeon guy to oppose M.Murdock?

    I know the cover says.."Strangest Foes "

How does that issue read?, as I have not read it due to the fact I could never get past that cover. Although that D.D. pose really is VERY good.

  14. I guess your hero handled this one too rough when he signed it.

Maybe I should put that in the auction description with the before pic.....

Mishandled by the man himself...JOHN BYRNE!!! 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

Maybe the mishandling was due to the fact that the cover sports BOTH a vulgar.. comin at ya crotch shot, tempered by a very NICE peekaboo booty shot. I too might mishandle the book.. it is very disturbing, yet somehow demands attention. 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

  15. I picked up a few upgrades...

    Ooohhh...I like this one.... thumbsup2.gif

    Jim

I also dig this cover.. his work always catches my eye.

But man, I gotta admit.. the lead off story that goes with this cover.. is about the WORST story I have read in a HOM.

While the idea was a good one... for some reason it just rubbed me the wrong way.To me the presentation was terrible, and the comical face they put on DEATH was over the top.

But on the flip side.. the LAST story in the book was a treat.

I almost did not get through the book, and might have missed the really bizarre Skeates/Suydam Two Faces of Death Story.

    FANTASTIC

I still LOVE the cover though ..being from Indiana as I am.. and surrounded by CORN.
