The RRP isn't the issue. It's the RRP on the tails of the FP variant. It just implies there is a hole in the damn... If only 3 INCLUDING the RRP, fine. If 5-6 and a Phantom, it'll be bedlam all over again. I think all of the variants with bedlam stopped people from collecting. People not collecting equates to low sales for the rest of the series. I think there has to be much more of a push on the back end to get people back into the book if collectors aren't helping with the hype...

Argggg. I really wanted to love this book. Damn it... I'm starting to get disillusioned with this nonsense. I've been playing more and more back in silvers and staying away from moderns. I mean this sincerely, I'll keep reading, but buying a lot less of Image. Hope they can maintain that 40% uptick with all of the variants. In my humble opinion they could keep their numbers by production alone. The variants become confusing and are a big flashback for me.

Hahahahaha that would be terrible and great... If only the regular was the Phantom but you had to hunt for the reg copies... Wait, you don't have to hunt for the Phantoms, they're everywhere.

I bought it, loved it... Bought more. The covers blew me away and the story drew me in. One of my favorite moderns by far... Though I don't like the Phantom run like I thought I did. 1 is fine... The other art just went bland and static.

That was the first place I went when I saw the art. No 11 yet...

Every day I read this thread, every day I feel worse for not having a 1 first print. I invariably tourture myself by reading this thread... I keep lying to myself and saying, "don't get swept up in the hype." I'm forced to kiss on my Mylar sheathed TB... I waited till second print to read this and glad I did... But damn...

Yeah, you're right. It does seem subjective though. I don't know what the % of like/dislike is but given the past posts, it has to be higher than say Saga/NWM. A lot of people like the covers, a think a lot don't like the covers too. Has to play into it.

Yes on the rule of thumb - but let's be honest, the cover art sucks. That was my first indication to avoid this book, and candidly between that and the 1000000 variants which left people wondering which 1 was the right 1, was a huge red flag. I'm not diminishing the panel art, the story, or the direction, but the cover blew. Quality does impact desire and it starts with the cover.

Ditto, of all the covers, this is the one that seems most 'called in'. Love 1 and 2 together too... But the Phantoms are loosing their charm with me. Feels like they're just character portraits rather than well executed covers... I have to say, 6 regular cover is <3

Glad I got mine at the $1.75 price each. Dang. That would have been nice This was readily available for awhile. At this price point , that price is a small risk to pay. Ditto. Glad I got in early, but now it looks like this won't be a huge surprise if it does well. I'm on board through issue three. Hoping for a good read more than anything. Same here. It won't catch anyone off guard. But I think the print run will be alot smaller than what some expect it to be. Oh I got mine for 55% off. My point is that they are 3.50 for 2nd prints. Image isn't 3.50 - or hasn't been, right? If you're buying for cover, ya missed the boat. $15 for 10.... Of beautiful awesomeness! Pittance! I'm done with my comments...

I don't think that 6.0 was midtowns fault. I got an order from TFAW with got a copy just like that. I think this was a Diamond/Print level error. There were a couple on eBay too right when they were released. I call total BS on this. Someone packed the box. If I order something new, I want it to be close to NM! If I order meat, I don't want to see maggots. Same deal here. There needs to be QC somewhere. If they are packing orders to their clients, they should looook before they pack.
