FWIW, some of my comic book friends tell me there has been more than the usual amount of softness in the market recently - not just at HA yesterday, but, also in other (very) recent sales. Exceptions obviously apply, of course.
I'm a 'sell my comic collection to buy OA' guy and the last 2-3 weeks of ebay sales have been disappointing; around 2/3 of what I had expected based on completed sales the few months prior.

Same situation than for the Williamson/Garzón ones maybe... (same buyer)
When the Empire Strikes Back Artist Edition came out, I believe I read the Williamson family had all his SW art. but maybe the comment was for ESB only.

It was Revenge of the Sith where he placed Anakin on the council as his emissary. The council agreed only so he could spy on Palpatine but they did not grant him the title of Master, which pissed Anakin off.
ah, yes I remember now. I'd gotten my timeline mixed up.

Maybe I'm misremembering, but in the Clone Wars show, didn't Palpatine (as Supreme Chancellor) say or imply he would be Anakin's advocate for Jedi Master with the Jedi council?

More Paper Girls activity on eBay the last couple of days due to release of 'first look' trailer. Haven't seen a release date yet.

So, those two ASM Ann 16 pages were my consignments in the Nov 2020 HA auction.
I was anticipating Monica's appearance in the Captain Marvel movie would have increased the value of the pages, and it did...I was just a bit ahead of the curve regarding timing.
1st appearance mania has definitely ramped up OA prices.

I have appreciated this discussion, thanks.

There was a dealer in Mesa, AZ. I will name names, Tom Kelb. When I first started going to his store he would be sitting behind the counter on two stacked milk crates. I would walk around looking at all the stuff he had behind the counter and eventually ask to look at something closer. He would give you that look and actually say “how serious are you about buying that because I don't feel like getting up if you are just looking”. We always referred to his store as “the grouchy old man shop”. I actually have no idea what his store was actually called. Good times, good times
Cave Man Comics. His other saying was 'how serious are you, I don't run a museum'.

Hey all,
Guilty. I won this one. I had about 7 items that I was active on during Thurs thru Sunday and got blown out of the water on all by a good amount. Some interior pages that went for 5k in the Nov HA signature were re-posted, going for more than 2.5x this auction -- just five months later. Other pages that I had pegged for 10 to 15k (even in the new hyper-OA pricing world) were hitting high-20k.
So by the time that Nexus page rolled around near the end of the auction, I got out over my skis. Rude sold these off his site for about $2k-3.5k years ago, so when it started at 2k, I thought maybe 5k or 6k max, but no ... guess I gotta chalk it up to blind grief/fury bidding on my part on those last couple of clicks. Didn't want to strike out completely. That said, I really love this page and glad I got it after the buyer's remorse quickly faded. One of the better Nexus pages I've seen.
BTW Hekla: that page wasn't just a web-comic, rather Rude published an oversized comic newspaper (like Wed comics) as part of his original Kickstarter, later collecting in a softcover trade and oversized hardcover. I'd recommend picking up the newsprint if you've never seen it -- cool project.
Congrats on the page. I have a Nexus page from the middle of the Volume 2 run and would love to add a better example and this would have fit the bill. As I stated, really nice action pages seem to rarely pop up.
I remember now that it was a printed run, but I've been reading the web-version; thanks for correcting me.

Was the soft price for the x-men 106 cover due to.the extensive toning ?
I think, as someone noted, not a memorable issue as being a factor. I've read the early Cockrum/Byrne issues several times and that's one of the few issues I can't recall the contents, even by looking at the cover.

Irredeemable 1
Being produced by Netflix
Fun read. Not disclosed if it's live action or animation, but if true to the comic, it will be bloody.

DMZ trailer debuted yesterday. I don't see ebay prices increasing, but the show starts next week. Looks like the show has a different premise than the book and is a limited series.

What the heck is FMV if people are looking for guidance on pricing based on winning bids where prices have been inflated by “assistance”?
Fair point

I thought that was only below reserve on reserve lots?
if you ask around everyone on this board has won items for way less than their max bid. I won a lot for 10% of what I bid once.
I won an animation cel for $1 once (years ago, before the current animation cel hype). I placed the bid early and totally forgot about it until the invoice.
re: Heritage, I still bid on Heritage items knowing that there could be house bids, but I generally stick to a FMV number and do not exceed it. As a consequence, I rarely win anymore

Cad Bane is an incredible character. Another Filoni creation he was inspired by Lee Van Cleef and shows every bit of it. Been looking forward to seeing a live action version for years.
Yeah, I like Cad Bane in the Clone Wars show but Hondo was a personal favorite.
