  1. Thank you :applause: I think that what is being stated is that there are non-antagonistic ways to inform sellers that there are fairly strict guidelines to follow for selling in the marketplace.

But in this case it wouldn't have mattered, as Dale never admitted he broke any rules, and even slammed the Sales Guidelines themselves. doh!

Some people will never listen, and if someone wants to post on the CGC Forums, and NOT follow CGC rules, then we should be free to point this out to them, especially those that have been around and were obviously trying to circumvent them.

I agree in principle with what you are saying. If the PM's do not seem to work, then I would feel free to post in the thread itself. Is the thread gone? I couldn't find it, but I thought that Dale did agree to close his sale.

  2. Kudos to blazingbob for selling some more of my books on his website. He actually brings the books to his conventions as well, so I am sure a couple of the high-QP books (but not high enough grade) books sold at the convention.

The downside is I also spent more money with Bob because of the books on his site. Fast shipping and wonderful communication.

  3.

    1) PM the person first and ask them to clarify/fix the problem. I've done this before with various posters. It's called fixing the problem "behind the scenes". Minimal fuss. No one's feelings get hurt. Situation resolved.

I have no problem with calling attention to the problem IN THE THREAD if it isn't resolved. (shrug)

  4. I think it's fine the way it is. You don't put reputable names on the list, it would only lead to confusion. The "majority vote" notation is only to refer to the exception made in his, ahem, election.

Did the person who complained not want him put on probation? Is that why others had to step in? I am just questioning the use of "majority vote". Ghastly did not complete a transaction in good faith within a month. So he should be on the list. Right?

    Dan

Ghastly's case is special, in that books were actually sent. The sticking points are that a) the packing job was amateurish at best and led to damage to books, and b) the one big-ticket item arrived in a condition severely worse than advertised, and c) that he refused to take a single iota of blame, going so far as to blame the shipping service, the buyer and even the buyer's neighbours.

In Ghastly's mind, the delivery of books - one could interpret his "argument" as being all responsibility left Ghastly the moment the box was sealed, apparently - is all that's needed to show "good faith." Everyone else disagreed, thus the vote

My bad. I thought a transaction in good faith ended when the customer was happy.

Why does Ghastly have a "majority vote" note next to his name? It makes it sound like anyone can be voted in. Or is the intent to show who nominated him? If so, then maybe a nominated by note should be added to all the members. That way a clear record of who the probation member needs to work with is easily available without having to dig through old posts. What do you think?

  7. BIG kudos to inconceivable for 48 mid-to-high grade Silver, Bronze, & Copper Age Amazing Spider-Man books. Books were accurately graded, shipped lightning fast, and packaged securely. Well on my way to finishing my ASM 1-328 run! THANKS DAN!!! :applause:

Thanks Forrest. It was easy to work with you. Continued success on the ASM run. :wishluck:

  8. ....and who are the board members sending pm's to sell underneath once a sales already been made.

Is this actually happening, or are you assuming this is why people are not honoring their :takeit: ?

I'm also getting annoyed at posting the :takeit: to find the books been sold via PM. I guess it happens, but sellers should then update their thread much faster. Sorry if this second rant belongs somewhere else. :sorry:

    just what i'm being told

"Sorry. I recieved another offer from a board member is it ok if I cancel.

Sorry I didn't tell you sooner I've been so busy. "

Did the board member post the :takeit: in your thread and then send you this pm? Or were you in negotiations (like someone else's wtb thread) and then you found out the buyer found another book?

  9. Kudos to inconceivable for home delivery of a nice Fantastic Four 42.

Kudos for CAP_FFreek for paying and being home to accept the FF #42. I do have to question his form for sending his little sister to answer the doorbell though. I rang twice, heard several kids calling his name, then the little girl opened the door and took the package.

I have paid for the item but will serve my time on the probation list.

A noble soul . . . You will be removed upon confirmation from Dan.

    CAP_FFreek paid.

    Dan

  11. Well, I dislike doing this, but re-add CAP_FFreek to the list of people who have not paid within 30 days. He did a BIN for a whopping $11.00 Fantastic Four book:

    Sale of FF #42 VG+ for $11.00 on July 17, 2007

I offered him free shipping when I could not meet him on the Friday of San Diego Comicon (tickets sold out), but I still did not get paid. I saw he bought a bunch of things in San Diego and asked him if maybe he overspent and was no longer interested in the book. He said he was. I even defended him in this thread earlier saying that his 30 days had not been reached. Now it is slightly longer than 30 days. So here is his name.

Sorry again for having to do this.

    Dan

  12. Anyone have an issue that needs to be resolved with me? I'll check my PMs

I suggest you check your PM's from followtheleader, arexcrooke and inconceivable

Ahh I pm'd you for a reason divad. For the record, it was just to ask what Cap did since I couldn't find the thread where he was put on probation but I did notice his name. I also mentioned that it had been a while and I had not received payment. It also has not been a month so he doesn't qualify under the month rule anyway.
